Wow! Great hair dryer at a great price!!
Performance:

The Conair Metal Pro 1875 works great. The dryer is full size and feels a bit heavy when you pick it up to use it. However, when the dryer is turned on, it balances out perfectly in your hand. It actually feels like you are using a much smaller hair dryer. The professional length cord is also nice because it allows you to maneuver around your dressing area. There is also a nice little clip on the bottom of the handle that can be used to hang the hair dryer from a hook.

The 1875 watts of drying power can be effectively managed using the Conair Metal Pro's three heat and two power setting controls. For heat control there is a "cool", "warm" and "hot" button. The power control consists of a "low" and "high" setting. By using the different combinations offered by these controls, the hair dryer can be configured match anyone's preferred drying settings. These controls are located on the handle and are easy to read and adjust, but they are positioned so that they can not be accidentally switched from one position to another while using the unit. The control features also include a cool air button that causes the hair dryer to emit cool air when depressed no matter what the heat control is set on. This allows for instant cool air during styling without having to stop and adjust the controls.

How many minutes or hours have you spent trying to "pull" lint out of the back of your hair dryer? Well, the Conair Metal Pro 1875 addresses this problem by incorporating a removable air filter on back at the air intake. This facilitates quick and easy cleaning of the air intake and prevents overheating, thus prolonging the life of the hair dryer.

Appearance:

Most hair dryers are made with a plastic body, but the Conair Metal Pro 1875. The body portion of the hair dryer features an attractive chrome metal housing. While this is pleasing to the eye, it is also very easy to clean with a damp cloth. The handle of the dryer is a durable black plastic that compliments the chrome body well.

excelent
I've had this dryer for about a year now... and it has worked great for me. I bought it mainly because it's made of metal and not plastic as most hair dryers are... so it will last longer. It is almost like the professional hair dryers they use at hair salons but a lot cheaper. It's a great value for the price.

powerful, versatile dryer
Love the fact that this dryer has so many speed and heat settings. It has a sleek contemporary design also. I like it so much I am getting one for my mothe-in-law for her birthday. Removable air filter makes it easy to clean.

A good tool for curly girls
I hadn't used a hairdryer in more than a decade--I'm the wash, towel, and go-type--but lately I've been following the instructions in Lorraine Massey's "Curly Girl" book to bring out my natural curl, and it's working . . . except that I was having to wait two or three hours for my hair to air-dry. Life's too short, and in the winter it's stupid to go outside with wet hair.

So I checked out a bunch of hairdryers at my local discount store and fixed on this one. So far, I'm very pleased. The big diffuser keeps it from blowing my curls flat, while the quiet motor keeps me from going deaf.

You have to use the low heat setting with the diffuser, so it may take longer than you're used to to get your hair completely dry, but I'll bet it's a lot less damaging, too. And if you're trying to escape flat hair, it's worth the wait. (If you're going for the glossy straight look, this isn't the dryer for you: get one with a concentrator, not a diffuser.)

A feature not mentioned above is that this model automatically shuts off if you drop it in water. Not that I'd want to test that out, but it's nice to know. Also, there's a hanging loop on the back. The filter is not removable.

BTW, I don't know what they mean by "soft" fingers on the diffuser--they're regular hard plastic--but I wasn't planning to give myself massages with it . . .

Quiet and everything!!!
This is a great product, it is quiet and very quick. THe only draw back is that it doesn't dry hair straight, its a little wild looking when you finish, it just needs to be tamed a little. But this is one great product

Absolute Necessity for Short Hair
I have very short & baby fine hair. This hair dryer is a must. When the attachment is added, it adds volume & thickness to my hair that I have never had before. I love it.

This midsize shows it still has power
I have a lot of hair, so when I pick a hair dryer, it has to be powerful. I was wary at first of a "midsize," but soon found that this dryer had a lot offer. With three different heat settings and power settings, the Conair 140 impressed me. It did not fry my hair like so many others do, but it did take a little longer than my old dryer. Overall, though, it is a good buy for the money.

Best Type of Hair Dryer out there!!
I just started using an ionic hairdryer recently after my cousin requested one as a Christmas gift. I used hers once and I was hooked. My hair is long (mid-back long),wavy and usually frizzy if I don't use straightening products or a blow dryer straightening hair attachment. It used to take me atleast half an hour to completely dry my hair straight on a regular dryer high setting. With the ionic dryer my hair (WITHOUT any balms, gels or attachments) is super shiny, has lots of volume and dries in half that time and has gotten more straighter! There is an even better newer model Conair IonShine Dryer 1875 that has a more ergonomic handle with better settings and buttons. I would recommend this to all my friends and family.

i like this hairdryer a LOT!!
This hairdryer is a lot quieter than any others i have used before which allows me to listen to music at a normal level and dry my hair at the same time.. some thing that i havent been able to do with others. It took pretty much the same amost of time that with a non-ionic hair dryer, but the results were a lot better! When im drying my hair straight, it make it very sleek, soft and shiny, yet when i am drying it curly, the curls are well defined, soft and not frizzy at all. At one point i left the dryer at my friends house, and was forced to use an older Revlon regular 1875 watt dryer that make my hair very course and frizzy, and in the end i couldnt wait to get my Conair back!!!

New shine for the ol' mane
As a child of the Sixties, I still wear my hair long and I blow it dry every morning. When my old Hartman Protech 1600 hair dryer hit the bathroom floor, things weren't the same. Eventually, in a spectacular pyrotechnic display, it breathed its last.

Since I had paid 20 bucks for it way back when, I was ready to spend that much on a replacement. Much to my surprise, in the 10 or so years I'd owned that dryer, a lot had changed, and now the same money buys a lot more hair dryer, so with some dough to spare, I bought one of these.

Many complain that it doesn't pack the same wallop as other dryers but that's a case of perception versus reality. The Conair's barrel has a larger diameter than most dryers and its fan is quieter, so while the perceptible breeze isn't as blustery, it's still moving plenty of air. I know because I use an egg timer to count off 3 minutes while I dry my hair and the Conair never leaves my hair damp (a barber told me that after 3 minutes of blow drying, you're just toasting your hair and not helping it). If you MUST have that scalp-scorching pinpoint blast, Conair includes a concentrator.

Ions are all the rage in hair dryer technology right now. Purportedly, a stream of ions directed at your hair will neutralize static electricity and smooth out frizzy hair. Ions are also claimed to flatten out scaly hair shafts, resulting in more shine. I'm waiting for our good friends at Consumer Reports to weigh in on the benefits (or lack thereof) of "dual ion ports", but after a week of daily use with the ion switch ON, I've noticed that my hair doesn't fight me as much when I brush it into place. Even when the static-charged Santa Ana winds are howling through sunny SoCal, my hair doesn't stick out like porcupine quills. And, yes, if I turn my head from side to side, there's a noticeable shimmer that either wasn't there before or I had never noticed it.

A minor flaw is that the power and ion switches respond to a very light push, but after a couple uses you learn to position your hand accordingly after switching on the dryer. The dryer offers low and high air-speed/heat settings and has a "cool shot" button that cuts off the heater while cranking the fan up to its fastest speed. "Cool shot" is another feature that is said to set a style in place by cooling down the hair quickly.

So, whether ions really do or don't make a difference, the overall performance of the Conair Ion Shine is worth the price.

Nothing special
Well, it's pretty & purple but HUGE and although it says 1875W it barely blows your hair! Feels like one of those low powered blow dryers. Less power than my small portable 1250 watt dryer. Yeah, it's relatively quiet but not silent or anything.

Ultra Quiet=Poor Performance
The bi-product of an "Ultra-Quiet" motor is lack of air pressure. I hope that product development/evolution will truly synthesize a "true" functional "Quiet" Hair Dryer.
This product certainly is quiet, but it is not a good Hair Dryer.

Ultra Quiet! Hooray!
Finally someone has created a hair dryer that doesn't assault your ear drums! Now I can have a conversation or listen to the morning news while I dry my hair. I agree that the airflow seems a bit light compaired to the other Conair dryer I own, but I think that is because the nozzle is wider. When I attach the "air flow concentrator" adapter that came with the Ultra Quiet, the air flow is equal to that of my other dryer. I love that it is Ultra Quiet and am so happy with it that I just ordered a second one for travel.

Not great, and why is listed as a kitchen accessory?
I have used this dryer when we travel to hotels, where it installed as a guest convenience.
First, I have to wonder why the item is listed at Amazon as a kitchen accessory...Uh, do you want people blow-drying their hair in YOUR kitchen?
Back to QUALITY...this dryer is very limited in its drying ability, and has limited settings. It is also on the flimsy side, and is rather toy-like. Unless you have a crew-cut, you'd better plan on taking a long time to dry your lovely long tresses.

Kind of cheap, even for price.
This hair dryer is adequate, but nothing special. It has only two heat settings, and the base/holder is flimsy plastic. Having the holder is why I bought it--no more cords on the bathroom counter--but it's not a very sophisticated hairdryer. Note also that the plug-adapter will cover both outlets.

Great Bathroom Accessory
The power and versatility of this product has captivated the whole family to the extent we are ordering another one for another of our bathrooms.

It ate my hair
This blow dryer is NOT good. I had it for about a month, and one time I was blowdrying my hair and it sucked it in from the back part and broke. Now it doesn't work and when I turn it on it smells like it is burning and makes a weird noise. NOT happy--don't buy it.

Returning ASAP
I bought this item believing that it would tame the frizz when drying my hair. Boy, was I disappointed that it frizzed my hair even more. I will return it as soon as possible!
