Ok, Here's the Scoop..This Toaster Is Inexpensive. Toast's Bread & Bagels good. Easy to clean out bottom panel. But, the Handles break off after a few weeks so you get to push down on the metal arms that the handles were attached to! Or if your creative you can fashion some new handles out of wood. You don't get much for 20 Bucks these days. Have fun.

I wanted to wait a few weeks before writing a review to see if the handles fell off, and they haven't, nor are they close to it. I've had it over a month now and I have nothing but good things to say about this toaster. It browns and toasts incredibly well. It's also very easy to clean since the bottom pulls out. And the slots are wide enough for bagels. I am very happy with my toaster, it's an enormous step up from my last one. (Stay away from Toastmaster, they make junk!)

This is a must have to keep your toaster oven off the counters. I just ordered a new Black & Decker toaster oven, and it is white. This mount is black, so I bought High Temperature spray paint and painted it white. It now matches all my kitchen appliances and the new toaster oven. One draw back of this item is that if you have a heavy coat of laquer on your cabinets, the heat that is given off from this hood can soften the coat of laquer,

Four screws into the bottom of your cabinets, and then slide the toaster in. Couldn't be simpler. The included template blows like they usually do though. Throw the instructions away. Just drill 4 holes in the right spot after a trial fit by hand.

After much investigation this seemed like the perfect toaster oven and initially it delivered -- good size, good functions etc. However after two months it stopped working. Looks like Black & Decker still haven't learned how to make a decent product.

I bought this item 3-4 years ago,although mine does not have the timer like the newer models. Initially it worked for a few days and then I couldn't get the toaster to shut off. When I contacted Black and Decker they informed me that they no longer did repairs, but would replace the item. All I had to do was to tell them the model

I have had this oven for a few years and have had no problems with it. It has a timer for baking which turns the oven off after the set time, so you don't burn your house down if you forget something is cooking. It is large inside. It doesn't get hot on the surface. I toasts well. It has a easily removeable crumb tray for cleaning. For the money it is very good.

We received this toaster as a gift this Christmas and it might be one of the worst toasters ever. None of the slots toast evenly and even though the slots are plenty wide, they aren't very deep so some bigger bagels and slices of bread go untoasted at the top. The controls are limited and any setting higher then halfway is pretty much just a different degree of burn. As it claims, it's good for doing different items at one time and the extra wide slots are good but that's about it.

I bought this toaster a couple of weeks ago. It seems OK so far but it does toast slightly darker on one side of the slice, in all 4 slots. The cool touch sides are nice, but it makes the toaster rather large. Those with limited counter space may want to consider another toaster.
Overall, I have to give this toaster a thumbs up since it does what it's asked to do every time...make toast!

Nice features (slide out crumb tray), but both handles fell off within 4 months of use (only used 12-20 times). Impossible to reattach handles.

I originally loved this toaster and rate it a 5. It broke about a year after I bought it. The pop-up feature on one side started to slip lower and lower so I couldn't easily retrieve the toast. I fiddled with the handle, which seemed to fix that problem but broke the handle off. Now it's got an ugly, broken handle and is slipping lower and lower again. This toaster is not built to last. How many years have people been making toasters? Shame on you Black & Decker for creating products of such poor quality that my review and others have to warn people away from buying them!

I bought this toaster after reading the good reviews on other sites. I loved the 4 wide-slots, but the toast/bagel switch is what really drew me in. I loved being able to toast on one side only, say for bagels or hamburger buns.

Unfortunately, it would do that all the time! No matter which setting I used, it would toast fine on one side, but the other side of the toast would be barely toasted at all. After recieving my first toaster, I thought "Okay, I guess this one is defective...". I sent it back for a replacement unit. Well, the same thing happened to the second one. Finally, I returned the toaster for a full refund.

I was quite disappointed, since I own many other Black & Decker items, and have never had any problems with them.

Thought this cool looking toaster by Black & Decker would look great in my new kitchen, which it does. The problem is, everything it toasts catches on fire!! My daughter was toasting bread and flames started shooting out of the top. We haven't found anything yet that wouldn't burn. Don't waste your money unless of course you want your house to burn down...

I bought this toaster because of the Black and Decker name and I am very sorry I did. My 9 year old granddaughter was making toast on the lightest setting possible and she pulled out a FLAMING piece of toast. I have called the 800 number and was told someone would get back to me and they never did. Black and Decker should recall this toaster. Anyone who has one should stop using it since I see I see that other people consider it a fire hazard also.

This is the most expensive toaster I have ever had, yet it cannot
do a simple job. One side of the toast is toasted while the other side is not. It is also difficult to fit two average size pieces of bread in the toaster. It also takes a lot longer than usual just to get a piece of bread toasted. Lastly, it is not wise to leave the toaster unsupervised. I was watching TV while I was toasting my bread and the bread literally caught on fire. B&D should remove this product, as it is a FIRE HAZARD!!! And this incident did not just happen only once, but several times. I finally decided it was not worth having this product and I purchased another toaster.

The toaster oven worked fine until the toast button stopped working. We've been using the broiler to toast things but end up burning things since the broiler isn't timed. I'm sorry we didn't read these reviews first.

I'd give this a 0 stars if I could, but that's not an option apparently.

Black & Decker quality is definitely on the skids with this product. I had a predecessor to this model which I bought while I was in college and it lasted me a good 15+ years. So, I thought "Hey, I'll get what looks like the same model and it'll last me another 15 years." Well no such luck. The first one I got had to go back after about a month because the heating element started to make a loud buzzing noise and the timer governing the toast was really erratic (sometimes too light, sometimes burnt, using the exact same settings.) The replacement we got started buzzing after about 3 months, and then the toast switch mechanism totally failed (so we had to stand there and hold the button down to toast bread --- believe me, interactive toasting is a sucky thing.) We found a way of making it less interactive by jamming the switch closed using a fridge magnet, but forgot we were toasting one day and it ate itself in a molten, firey mess (lucky the house didn't burn down.)

Here's the executive summary: "DON"T BUY THIS TOASTER OVEN!!!"

I have had my Black & Decker Toaster Oven now for over a year. I have had no problems out of it. The only reason I did not give this a perfect 5 is that the under the counter mount is very hard to find. the only place I have found it other then B&D website is at bed bath and beyond. When you have a small kitchen like myself you need every bit of counterspace you can get.
