I bought this item in December and it is now only September and the timer just broke. The scary part is, it wouldn't turn off and thus became an extreme safety risk for our family. I have had toaster ovens in the past that would've lasted (mechanically) it seems forever. It was that I wanted an newer updated oven that prompted me to purchase this item. My advise would be to skip it and save your family and your money.

Remember when Pasta used to be Spaghetti? How about when a toaster used to be the non-discript, chrome-plated appliance that sat on your mom's kitchen table and was about as interesting as a radiator cap? Well, times it seemed, have a-changed. For those of you who insist on agonizing over even the most mundane of purchases, I will indulge (and hopefully enlighten you) on the joys of the DeLonghi Alfredo Ultima Toaster oven.

The DeLonghi, is, first and foremost, an appliance of Italian design and manufacture. That is to say, that it is delightfully quirky, and nothing short of a work of art. Not only does this formidable kitchen device make toast-- but it looks as nice on your kitchen counter as a Ferrari would look in your driveway. Now, the average Ferrari owner doesn't really care whether his (or her) car won't start on rainy days-- or if the sheet metal is continuously on the verge of transforming itself to iron oxide. It's all about STYLE, right? If you're like me, you probably can't afford a Ferrari-- but you CAN afford the DeLonghi toaster! Need I say more? For a few bucks, you can own a little piece of Continental Magic. And, what goes better after a night of moon-lit passion, than a morning repast prepared in an Italian toaster oven? Nothing that I can think of! Sure, you'll have to fiddle with the settings, just like a Ferrari owner has to fiddle with his fuel injection jets, but hey-- isn't that half the fun of owning an Italian "Work of Art"? You bet!

"But, how does it compare to the competition", you might ask. I'll tell you in two words: "WHO CARES!" A toaster oven is, after all is said and done-- a hollow box with 4 iron rods in it. The electricity goes through the rods, which get red-hot, and the result is TOAST. What gives the DeLonghi its charm is its lovely sense of style-- especially the controls which look like they belong on the dashboard of a $60,000 sports car. And yes-- in addition to preparing toast, it will serve as a fully functional mini-oven that might well give your microwave a run for its money. So, who cares if the toast is slightly darker on one side than the other? Not me! Life is about art and passion-- and the DeLonghi toaster will bring a little bit of both to your kitchen. So go ahead-- buy the DeLonghi. For the price, its handsome, functional, and well worth the clearance price -- LMS.

For under [price](Amazon's clearance price), the DeLonghi is well worth the price. Delux features include an hugh, illuminated porcelan interior, a swing-down oven bottom for easy, "tray-free" crumb removal, and a charming "bell-ring" to let you know that your toast is done . Absolutely the worst toaster oven I have ever owned, and I have had several brands over the years. I bought it expecting a high quality item that would last for years. Instead we found the bread and bagel took ages to toast, and then was toasted unevenly. The oven seemed to overheat. And the dials were a complete annoyance as they were constantly being left on the wrong setting (toast/bake). Not to mention the damned ticking.

The coup de grace was when the top element melted down while toasting and completely fell to pieces on top of an English muffin. I won't be replacing it with another DeLonghi product, believe me.

Where is the XU150 version of this toaster oven? It has a chrome finish.

We have owned two of these ovens. The first was red. It lasted about ten years. Our current oven is black; it's in it's fourth year. It does a fine job of toasting - with grill marks! Baked potatoes come out crisp-skinned and perfect. We have never broiled, so I cannot comment on that function - sounds too messy for a toaster oven. It is a very stylist appliance to adorn a kitchen!

We we're so excited when we opened the box, read all the instructions and plugged it in. Waited the 30 minutes and found no cooling...fan motor not running. Called and left message on the Vector customer service line, said they would return call in 24 hours...They did, told me what to try and then decided it was defective. Returned to Target.direct - easy, but shy about reordering...think we'll try another brand. Too bad, cause it would have been perfect for our applications.

I've had my fridge running constantly on my desk for 10 months now and am very happy with it. The motor hasn't burned out, though it does leak a bit if you don't defrost the top every so often. Fortunately, this process takes only about 10 minutes. I use this fridge for everything from beverages to vegetables and have never had a problem. It's a great item for people trying to eat healthy or low cal since I can grab my veggies without passing the office vending machine on the way to the office fridge.

The unit is not as loud as the previous user described. Its a nice quiet fan. Ive heard some pretty loud PC Fans, and this is nothing compared to that! It holds 6 12oz. Cans nicely. Though I will say that they are not getting cold as fast as I would like. Its been aprox. 5.5hrs and they are barely cold. Hopefully tomorrow they'll be nice and chilly. The other downfall is that it shows on the box pictures you can lay the unit on its back to place meals in, and for car travel. This would seem impossible since the fan is on the back, and it tells you not to obstruct this fan for cooling purposes. And lastly, The COOL - HOT switch is right on the side, in an easy to flip by accident kinda spot. I would certainly hate to find, when im at the peak of thirst, that the switch has been turned to HOT. HOT Soda sounds like a BIG Problem! Other than that, nice little product.

I purchased this scale from Target, hoping to use it while baking (as weight offers much more precision over volume in breadmaking). Unfortunately, I was surprised to find that while the scale was very precise, the "mode" function simply switched between displaying pounds or ounces. This ends up to be pretty useless though, and the scale is missing one key function...
This is the only digital scale I've ever seen that fails to offer a standard/metric converstion mode. Huh? I didn't even know they MADE digital scales without that option. Even a standard budget spring loaded scale offers a dual units of measurment. I'll definitely be returning this.

I got it mailed to me opened it and put batterys in it and pushed the ON button and it died right there it blinked froze i pushed off and then couldent turn it back on

This scale is easy to use and is very compact. However, my scale died after only 6 months of use. Tried changing the batteries, no luck. The scale never got wet. No rational reason why it wouldn't work. Save your money, and buy another model.

Worked for about a month. Burned out. Was a nice thought. My advice (considering hindsight) is to buy a dorm fridge for under your desk. Costs about twice what this does, but you'll get more mileage.

I agree with everyone else, not worth the money. Mine fried after 2 months..

I also had the experience of the mini fridge just stopping but I was so pleased with it's performance up till then that I bought another one. I was curious as to why it stopped. I tried the new transformer with the old mini fridge and it worked!! The problem with the mini fridge is the transformer can't handle being on continuously for months at a time. I'm trying to find another transformer that will last better/longer

Only buy this product if you want aggravation and frustration. On 3 different ones, the glass doors all came off from the frame. Although I like the way it looks, I finally gave up and bought a compact Krups model. The Krups worked fine the ist time I used it. Done't buy this DeLonghi; it's a terrible product that should not be sold. Although the company is aware of the problem with the door they continue to sell this model. DeLonghi will not admit there is a problem with this model. However, after 3 separate purchases from different stores.. the same problem existed.

I was very excited to get this but when it came out of the box the door was crooked and did not close. After fixing that the door would "kind of" close... it got pretty near, but this is a real hazard. Our golden retriever thinks it is very interesting since the door falls open if he nudges it... I would not trust this around the house and after the other reviews I'm going to send it right back so I can get my refund.

This toaster oven is quite aesthetic-it is fairly compact-its style is simple and classic. Operation of the oven is not difficult. The instructions are easy to follow. The toaster oven is versatile-it comes with muffin and cooking sheets-I might never use my regular oven again-this toaster oven is not just for toast-One thing I miss is a push button to toast bread which was on my previous toaster oven. In short, I feel this is a superior kitchen appliance and would recommend it without hesitation.

The door won't close. The door handle continuely fall off. The crumb tray is impossible to remove and reinstall. The timer will not turn the bloody machine off making it a fire hazard. DeLonghi customer service is impossible to find and if you do find them, they want you to spend too much money to ship their product pack to some repair center in East Bumfield and then pay for the repair cost as well as shipping. All of this in a prompt fashion, 6 to 8 weeks, if you can believe that. I do like the color, even if it is hard to clean. This machine should be recalled because of the fire hazard alone and should be called DeWrongway Appliance Breakdown Company. Jim Olson

We've had this appliance for about 1 year and have had to have the timer replaced two times and it still doesn't work. The appliance repair shop that replaced the timers has stated that they see lots of broken timers on this model.

Impact of the sticky timer: burned toast, smoke in the house. Yesterday, I had flames coming out the front of the toaster.

Delonghi should recall this appliance, as it is a true safety hazard.

SOMEBODY OUGHT TO SUE THE COMPANY..... ABSOLUTELY THE WORST AND MOST DANGEROUS APPLIANCE I HAVE EVER HAD.
MINE WAS A CHRISTMAS PRESENT AND LASTED ABOUT 3 WEEKS BEFORE MALFUNCTIONING. IT WILL TURN ITSELF BACK ON AFTER ABOUT A 1 MINUTE "REST".YOU BETTER STAY CLOSE BY OR YOUR KITCHEN WILL GO UP IN FLAMES. MINE ALMOST DID.
DEALING WITH THE COMPANY WAS AN ABSOLUT NIGHTMARE. RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NO REPLACEMENT OR REFUND FOR MY 3 WEEK OLD FAULTY APPLIANCE.
I COULD SEND IT BACK TO THE COMPANY (AT MY EXPENSE) OR HAVE IT FIXED AT ONE OF THEIR "FIX IT SHOPS" (ABOUT A 1 HOUR DRIVE FROM MY HOUSE)
IT WAS NOT WORTH IT TO INVEST ANOTHER PENNY IN AN OVERPRICED POORLY MANUFACTURED APPLIANCE AND A LOUSY MANAGED COMPANY.
DE LONGHI .... NEVER EVER AGAIN.
