I previously bought the Aroma ARC703G, which deserves all the bad reviews it's gotten from other ... customers. This one, however, is well worth the extra money. It makes perfectly cooked rice, from your basic long grain to your basmati and wild rice; even arborio, used in risottos, come out great. The key to buying a rice cooker is its pot -- is it nonstick or not? This one is nonstick, making cleanup easy and hassle free -- unlike the ARC703G's aluminum pot, which requires so much elbow grease to clean you'd be better off making rice the old-fashioned way. Like many other rice enthusiasts, I say Zojirushi is the best brand for rice cookers, but this Aroma model is great for those who make rice only every so often or have suddenly been intrigued by rice thanks to "Survivor II."

Well, this product was okay for a while. Then it simply stopped working. Looking back, I didn't care much for the functionality of the design, although it was cute. The water collector and the rubber gasket lid caused many cleaning problems. I've switched to a Zoji rice cooker with a removable lid. No problems. I'd check out that brand instead.

The ads for this rice cooker gives wrong information.
I am very disappointed with it.
I have an Aroma ARC703-G 3 cup rice cooker, it said 3-cup where I can cook 3 cup of rice before cook, I love it.
But this 12-cup rice cooker can only cook 5.5 cup of raw rice...
The lid is hard to open because of bad design (or maybe it happen to be bad product), and it takes two hands to open it because you need to use another hand to hold on to the rice cooker.
Good thing about it is the rice doesn't stick on the cooker, and can be easily washed.

I HAVE PURCHASED TWO OF THE AROMA RICE COOKERS WITHIN THE LAST 6 MONTHS AT [a local store] AND NEATHER ONE OF THEM WORKED MORE THAN A FEW MONTHS. THEY SIMPLY STOPPED WORKING. THE PREVIOUS RICE COOKER FROM WESTINGHOUSE LASTED FOR MORE THAN EIGHTEEN YEARS.

My husband and I got this for a wedding present in 1995 and we use it AT LEAST 3 times a week, every week. We love it. It finally lost one leg this year so we sit it on a towel to make it level. We bought a more expensive rice cooker but I still pull this one out every time because the rice is great and it is so easy to use. Yes, the rice at the bottom sticks to the pan a bit but it comes out very easily if you wash it right away or if you don't, you'll need to soak the pot for a bit. I have also found that we like the rice better if we add a bit more water than what is recommended in the booklet.

I got this rice-cooker on sale at amazon, pretty good actually. I have been using it everyday, 2-3 times a day since June, and it's fine! It's not one of those fancy Zorijushi, but it's [inexpensive], and in working order.

I owned this Rice Cooker for about 6 months. After some helpful tips I finally found out how to make perfect rice with this thing.
1) throughly clean your rice before putting it in the Rice Cooker.
2) Let the 1.25 cups of water for every 1 cup of rice.
3) Let the rice soak for 20 minutes before you power on the thing.

All in all, for $... this is a good deal, but this cooker doesn't last. Give it 1 year and it will die on you. My advice is to go for a more expensive model if you want something to last. If you want to experiment with a rice cooker then snag this one. better yet, get the 3 cup version for $...

Over and over and over I see everyone complaining about these rice cookers burning rice. Well you know what they are supposed to burn rice! I had one of these for 3 years and each and every time it would burn rice on the bottom and sides. All my friends had various kinds too and they also burnt rice each and every time. I expected it to, just like cooking rice in a pot thats what allowed the rice in the middle to cook properly. Also don't worry, you don't ever eat burnt rice unless of course you sat there and scrapped the burnt stuff off the sides.

These cookers work fine for cooking rice, but expect to have to soak the pan in water for a few hours and scrape the burnt rice off. Also if you are timid about burnt rice stop complaining when you only spent 30 dollars. To get no burnt rice everytime you are going to have to fork over 150 dollars at least for the fuzzy logic ones and they are worth every penny.

I've had this model for about 8 months now and have been completely satisfied with it. I haven't burned rice in it once. Lack of a power switch is somewhat annoying but for the money this item is a great value.

This product is clearly mislabeled as a 12 cup rice cooker. It is only a 5.5 cup rice cooker. Rice cookers are typically sold by uncooked cup quantity and not by cooked cup quantity. This product is being advertised as a 12 cup rice cooker, but the 12 cups refer to cooked quantity. If rice is your main dish, then this cooker will hardly feed your family! I am returning this product and am planning to buy a more trusted brand like Panasonic.
