Great for chili, soups, etc...
We're a Rival FamilyI got this one and love it. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that are available with some of the more costly models, nor does it have a design. It is just a nice crock pot that is big enough for a small roast or a pot of chili (which is great on a winter's day)

Great Cooker!
- 2-1/2-quart non-removable crock pot is convenient for small families

Not bad for the priceThe size is a good one for a small family. We're a family of four, and I've found that if I make a full pot of something with this we usually have plenty of leftovers for lunches or another meal. It has a plastic lid, which does well in the dishwasher, but there is sometimes gapping since it doesn't fit snugly. I haven't found that to be a big problem though.
Bad Point: You can't remove the crock part, which I do not like. This makes it more of a hassle to clean. I will be getting another crock pot and will deffinitly not get another one without a removable crock.
Think before you buy. This crockpot works well but is too small.

Not a "Happy Cooker"
Problem with handles
EVERYTHING EXCEPT!!!!!!!!!The ceramic liner is sublime, my only regret is that the decoration design is totally hooky. Straight from the Fifties, I know there is a stainless steel one available but it defeats the perpose as it just generates heat.(And costs more!) Something like a simple band of green rather than the cute ivy please. It is 2002.

TOO HOT!!!!!puddle in front of slow cooker and on the floor. Slip and fall
danger. Not a small puddle at all.
ALSO MAJOR temp problem. On LOW, my meat cooked in about half the time. 6 hours (3.5 lb. pot roast) recipe was for 10-12 hours. The warm feature was set by the manufacturer, still continued to cook my meal. Dangerous situation to say the least.
The Hot temp on low and the water spewing everywhere happened with 2 different Rival pots. returned both.,
Water leaks out from under the lidThe next time I use this pot, I'll try setting some kind of weight on the lid. If you purchase this model, beware of hot water leakage, and adjust for the fact that whatever you are cooking in the pot is going to be a little drier than you might have expected because of the escaping water.
I Love It.I've read other reviews about Rivals getting too hot and the lids cracking. While the outside does get hot (why wouldn't it you're cooking in it for an average of 8 hours) the handles do not and I've had no problems with the lids. I use it regulary and put both the porcelain pot and the lid in the diswasher after each use (with no problems). I think it's a great, I use it constantly especially when I'm having guests. Every meal I've made in it has tasted wonderful!

Would give it zero starsWhat a mistake...apparently, Rival's design and quality control are no longer what they once were. The outside of this pot heats up far more than our older pot does, to the point that it is a burn risk. Plus, the lid is very lightweight and doesn't have a "lip" to send condensation back into the pot. Instead, it slowly spits boiling hot water all over the counter. Since we have a toddler and safety is a major concern, this pot went right back to Target! We've been looking for a better model, but all the Rival pots seem to have the new flimsy lid and thus probably the same spitting hot water problem. Not sure what to suggest, except not to buy this pot.

The low setting allows for slow (12 hour+) cooking overnight or all day. I love to put on a pot of chili before I go to bed or work, and let the house soak up the aroma!
Just be careful with the countertop placement, as the sides get very hot!
