Great product that you can't buy!
I received my Krups Model 476 coffeemaker as a gift. Now it is time to change the Duo-Filter.....and I can't find one anywhere. Mine has split, so I definitely do not want to continue using it. I am disappointed in this product. I do believe the filter made the coffee taste better, but; what good is it if you can't use the maker properly! I have spent too much time looking for this little "accessory". I think I'm more inclined to make the coffee without it, and when the coffee maker sees its last days, I will be searching for a new brand of coffee maker to purchase. Seems little to ask for a company to readily provide accessories for the products they make. If its this difficult, Krups better rethink their marketing practices, or they will find themselves at the bottom of the list.

Krups Charcoal Filers
I've used the Krups coffee maker with these filters in 2 different states including 5 addresses. It works great. Don't know that I would use this particular coffeemaker without the filter. I'm having difficulty obtaining replacement filters.

These filters are a great idea
I believe that the reason why some people are having difficulty finding these filters is because the coffe makers, Crystal arome (model #398) and Crystal arome time (model #458) have been discontinued, these filters fit those models. But as someone else has mentioned you can buy the filters on-line. Simple solution.

You can go to krups.com to find out more about the discontinued coffee makers.

Love/Hate relationship
We waited to see who had best price on this coffeemaker, and found BJ's had it for $10 less than everyone else. We had gone through 4 coffeemakers in 2 years for various reasons, and we like this the best. Have had it three months, and tonight we experienced the mysterious "clock/programmer" gremlin. Brew Station started brewing (without water) in the middle of the evening all by itself. From other reviews I suspect a power surge, or else I hit "program" by accident when cleaning.

There is no way to cancel programming, apparently.

My biggest gripe is the plastic bucket has stained badly and nothing seems to remove the stains. The level markings on the opaque panel in front are now obscured by coffee stains on interior. The heating element inside is also brown. I've used mild abrasive, teflon pad and detergent, and commercial coffeemaker cleaning solution. Also tried vinegar. Any suggestions?

A full "bucket" of water can be awkward. 10 cups of water just went sloshing over my counter, stove top, and hardwood floor when it slipped from my hand while filling the reservoir. A mess.

Still, its aethetic design, convenience, and no more scorched or underheated coffee are GREAT! I don't regret spending under $40 for it. Would not pay more, however!

Innovative and impressive resulting in excellent coffee.
I read the reviews before I purchased this machine and am glad that I didn't pay too much attention on the negative comments. Some people are just never satisfied, no matter what.

I find this to be a high quality machine that makes great coffee. It's easy to use. I love the concept of no carafe. Those thin glass pots are too easy to break and finding a replacement is not always that easy, especially after a year or two. You end up having to buy a new machine even though the one you have worked well.

The coffee stays very hot without having that burnt smell that I noticed with other coffee makers.

I've had it for a couple of months and it works just like when it was brand new. Granted, a couple of months is not that long but others have complained that their machines broke right away. No problem here.

My only negative comment is that it is just a little bit larger than most machines out there. It's not a problem for me but if you don't have enough room from the bottom of your cabinets to your counter top, it just might not fit.

I highly recommend this coffee maker and unless you're one of those "impossible to satisfy" people, you'll be happy with your decision to purchase this item.

I really like it........
If you are reading this, you can see there are many mixed reviews on this product. I purchased one as I use it in my office (cubicle) and I wanted something that had a small footprint, height was not an issue for me. I have used the clock once or twice, but I usually just tap the on buttong twice to start brewing once everything is ready in the morning. I have had no problems with leaking, I get maybe one drip off the spout after I remove my cup and I just wipe that up once a day. As far as the issue some people have with measuring the right amount of water for the grounds they are using, I drink my coffee very strong, theefore I add a good quantity of grounds, top off the water, and if I don't drink it all, I don't. If you are worried about making something just right (not too strong, not too weak) I recommend using a measuring cup and experiment until you find the right mix and just fill off the measuring cup rather than the coffee tank.

I would buy this product the next ten times I buy a coffee pot: keeps the coffee warm all day without burning, requires minimal space, and has great asthetic.

All previous warnings were correct.
I decided to purchase the BrewStation despite the mixed reviews, because I really liked the coffee maker's concept. Unfortunately, I received one of the defective products like the ones I had read about. Within 2 days of using the coffee maker I began to have problems with the clock. The clock would shut off for no reason, and one time it just went haywire and started flashing random numbers/symbols. At times this clock's behavior would interfere with my being able to get brewing to start.

The other concern many people seemed to have was with water measurement. I was initially surprised with concerns re: that issue (how could it be THAT confusing?)...but it is. The numbers on the back of the pot do not match up with the numbers on the front. It is a guessing game. I have yet to make a batch of coffee that is at the cup amout I thought it would be - and therefore at a strength I'd like it to be.
After just one week and numerous problems, I called Hamilton Beach. The customer service agent did not seem the least bit surprised about my issues. I too was asked to cut the electrical cord off and send it in to receive a new unit, but now I have to wait for another machine to arrive.
On the positive side, I did enjoy the features that inspired me to purchase the product despite the reviews (the warmer and the despenser). Hamilton Beach also gave me no issues re: getting a new machine.
If I had to do it all over again, I would not have purchased this machine. Despite many positive reviews...it seems too much of a gamble.

no repair center available
I bought this coffee maker for my family for Christmas. Has worked well for 4 months. Has now quit brewing, and I cannot find anyone who will fix it or replace it since I bought it from this website. I cannot find a phonenumber, Hamilton Beach will not work with me because I bought it from this site. I will not ever buy from this site again. I am not a happy customer and you know what they say about unhappy customers--we tell a lot more people than happy ones.

Annoying Ticking Sound
Even though this a really slick coffeemaker (and makes a great pot of coffee) .. I'm totally disenchanted with the LOUD, clicking noise (resembling some type of "count down" on an automatic timer) .. which can be heard in my family room .. and the Brew Station is in the kitchen. Go figure! I sent E-Mail to Hamilton Beach explaining this problem. Has anyone else experienced same? Thanks, Helen More (Marlborough, MA)
