We had our first waffles this morning, using the Cuisinart Belgian Waffler. Couldn't have been easier to use, and the waffles couldn't have tasted better! The non-stick coating releases the waffles instantly. The reason I rated it four stars instead of five, is that if the batter oozes out of the waffler, clean-up is a bit harder.

I have the model with the round knob on the top. This unit looks like it may have replaced the one I have, moving the temp control to the front. Otherwise, it is the same. I have used many waffle makers from the cheapest B&D to the fancy new Villaware. I keep returning to a pair of these that I have. Strong heating elements, thorough and fast cooking, non-stick is holding up great and very even cooking. Nice crispy waffles. The lock down is the key as it forces the batter to rise up into the upper pockets where they are cooked evenly. This IS THE ONE, trust me.

I make a variety of whole grain and fruit waffles. I bought this waffle maker because most of the others do not have an adjustable browning control - I would be guessing how long to leave the waffles in as I tried different recipes. This maker works very well across a broad range of recipes, and by varying the control I can "make to taste" doughy or crunchy waffles.

I just love this waffle iron. It's quick, it's easy, and it does a great job. Much faster than my old waffle iron, and easy to adjust and monitor, I am very happy to have ordered it.

This product is by far the worst purchase in my life. I'll admit, I didn't do any research on waffle irons but how can you not trust a name as widespread as Cuisinart?

Easy...as a very competent chef, with years of experience in professional and personal capacity, I consider myself capable of making waffles. In fact, I've MacGyver'd waffles in a bind on a camping trip with tent rods! No Joke! But this product makes everything about waffle making awful. Most notably:
1. Non-stick my foot. If you've ever wanted all your waffles sliced down the middle across their plane, this is the one for you.
2. Easy cleanup my other foot. Break out your chisel and toothbrush, because you'll need them.
3. Thrown down 20 stories of garbage chute, this produces the most wonderful acoustical symphony $30 can buy. The brushed stainless surface perfectly matched and resonated with the rusty, raw clanginess of sheet metal. Musical indeed.

Do yourself a favor and just ignite $30 on your own. Don't go through the hassle of purchasing this product.

At first this worked great, the red light/green light thing is a good thing, and being able to actually select how cooked you want your waffle is definatly better than having to time waffles yourself (especially when your cooking for picky people ;))

Unfortunatly after 5 or 6 uses the waffles started sticking and pulling apart regardless of how much (or little) they were cooked. It got worse until the waffle stuck completly and were basicly ineatible. I tried greasing the iron, the waffles still pull apart but they're eatible.

After reading some of the other reviews I must defend this fine product. This iron works extraordinarily well. If waffles are sticking, spray a little Pam and as for complaints about safety, well duh, it gets hot. This iron preheats and cooks quickly. Heat is evenly distributed and cooking is consistent. If you can be trusted with matches you will have no trouble with this great value in a simple waffle iron.

In an effort to not scratch our cookware (be it metal, ceramic, stoneware, porcelain, enamel-coated, glass, etc.) with metal wire whisks, we look for alternatives.

We try plastic whisks. Although it sounds like a good idea - because most plastics don't scratch - most plastics make lousy whisks. If they're too stiff they are hard to work with and you risk damaging your ceramic, stoneware, and enamel. If they're too flexible they don't do a good job because most flexible plastics are too flimsy. All in all, plastic whisks are not well-suited for the job but at least they don't damage our cookware as much as steel does. (Perhaps, on the other hand, you have found a good plastic whisk. In that case, please let the rest of us know which brand it is by kindly leaving a review here! Thank you!)

The answer to plastic whisks, however, is usually worse than plastic. It's called 'Silicone Wrapped Wire.' This sounds like an even better idea because silicone never scratches! In actuality, it doesn't last very long (if you cook) and soon you're scratching your cookware with steel. This brand is one of those. (Again, maybe you have found a good whisk made with 'silicone wrapped wire.' In that case, please let the rest of us know which brand it is by kindly leaving a review here! Thank you!)

But I don't leave reviews unless I leave you with GOOD NEWS! After searching and hoping and waiting FINALLY we cooks have a suitable alternative to stainless steel whisks! It's called Silicone whisks! Not to be confused with coatings of silicone, these whisks are made of pure silicone and can withstand temperatures of up to 800 degrees F. They are new on the market, and at the time of this writing, the only known brand is Le Creuset - a French company whose items are sold at Amazon.com

I agree with a previous review,coating does not hold up. Comes off if bumped to hard.has been used gently and the metal is already showing. One thing I would like to know is, what is the highest temp this coating will tolerate.

I am trying to find the warranty info on this product. Since this product is not inexpensive it should last longer than the maybe 5 times I used it. Even though I was careful with it the silicone is now split has exposed the metal wisk beneath. This cannot be sanitary as food can get in the crevices there & cause contamination.
