A Family Necessity
This Farberware Urn is a must for family gatherings. My mother has had the smaller version for several years and she just loves it! If I receive the 55 C in my bridal registry, we'll have one for decafe and one for regular coffee! I have even borrowed my mothers to warm apple cider- what a treat in the fall!

It's not too heavy.
After using the same pots and pans for 40 year, decided it was time to purchase a new set. Seemed like a good Christmas present.

Went to the internet to seek all the information I could find and made my decision. Coupon in hand I went to the store and discovered my choice for stainless cookware was much too heavy and the pots were empty.

Suddenly, riveted handles were not as important as weight. I had to start over and set about lifting all the stainless cookware to determine which would give me some weight without being too heavy. I don't know if this is a "senior" problem or if everyone finds some cookware very heavy.

Decided on the Farberware Millennium soft touch stainless and have not regretted my decision. I have the even cooking of the encapsulated bottom, I have the riveted handles that are never hot, I have the choice of putting them in the dishwasher and I have the option of using them in the oven.

All of my requirements have been met.

Farberware=Value + high quality
I have a number of skillets and frying pans from Farberwares Millenium Stainless line. They are EXCELLENT products, especially taking into account their price! On another note, these are some of the few non-stick utensils which are dishwasher safe. Keep up the good work Farberware!

Worth the price...
I have been using my skillet for a few weeks now and I love it. I use it to make my breakfast and it is just the right size for 2 or 3 eggs. Since it is dishwasher safe, it is very easy to clean. Although, I have found that since it isn't so large it is no problem at all to wash it by hand. It is definitely one of the best non-stick skillets I have ever owned. I plan on getting the 10" and 12" skillets to go with it.

OK products, HORRIBLE warranty service
If you purchase Millennium products by Farberware do not count on getting any satisfaction if you need to use the warranty. I sent in three pieces 5 months ago for what I was told was a 6-8 week process -- I'm still waiting, and every time I call I get a different line -- they are either incompetent or lying, or both. Decent products, unacceptable customer service -- buyer beware!

Worth every penny
This set is worth the very low price. They are heavier than my grandmother's set of Revere, and I prefer the lids with the loop so that they can be hung on a pot rack. Food rarely sticks, and the very few times it has, it comes off within minutes by soaking with hot water. The thickness of the base really does keep food from burning if you are paying attention. They are fairly easy to keep clean, but you will need special cleaner (or serious elbow grease) to keep the bottoms up to shine. I put mine in the dishwasher for daily cleaning. Once in a while, I use Barkeeper's Friend to really shine up the stainless and copper and remove discolorations caused by hard water.

The two saucepans are both a good size, but an intermediate size of 2 quarts would have been very helpful. The 3 ½-qt. sauté pan is wonderful, although a little large for a family of two. I supplemented this set with a 2-quart sauté pan from Cuisinart (Chef's Classic Stainless, which is very similar to this set, sans the copper) - perfect for sautéing two chicken breasts. The stockpot is a great size unless you're cooking pasta for many people. The lids fit each piece perfectly. The 10" lid fits both the sauté pan and the stockpot, as well as a variety of 10" nonstick fry pans. I wish there were two of these lids included in the set, as I use it frequently.

For the money, this set is excellent. The ten-piece set would complement this eight-piece set wonderfully with little duplication (the 3-qt. saucepan, which is in use daily). The lack of open stock pieces is disappointing, but at this price you could buy several sets. No, this is not All-Clad. However, I am not a professional chef. I am just a cook, and this set works great for me.

Nicest set I have ever owned
This is a beautiful set of pans - all you would ever need in a kitchen to make a meal and then some. They are well-made, cook food beautifully, steam vegetables, and are lovely to hold and show off. I have enjoyed them immensely since the day I got them

A Real Disappointment.
This mixer is underpowered - it cautions that no stiff dough or mixture over 8 ounces should be mixed. It is not clear why they even bother to pack a dough-hook given the power. But that's not all. The bowls are shaped badly, so material accumulates in the sharp angle and escapes mixing. They are so narrow that adding ingredients without hitting the beaters is tricky. And finally, the beater release button is a chore to operate. We once had confidence in Farber products. No more.

Beaters go to middle of small bowl.
This machine places the beaters in a fixed position into the CENTER of the SMALLER bowl. So you must scrape the sides of the bowl to help mix the ingredients. The manual warns not to scrape while the mixer is in operation.

Using the LARGER bowl is a breeze. I do no scraping when mixing a double batch of pancakes. For the larger bowl, the outer edge of a beater is aligned near the bowl edge. I just put the ingredients into the bowl, lower the beaters in, and turn it on. Within 20 seconds the pancake batter is thoroughly combined by the action of the mixer.

I did not try the dough hooks.

The following is not a complaint. I'm including it in case I'm not the only cook who did not know this about making big batches. I was surprised to see the manual state, "Never fill mixing bowl more than 1/2 full - the mixing action will cause the ingredients to rise in the bowl. Mix large recipes in several batches."

I filled the 4 quart bowl with 4 quarts of water. The level went up to about an inch from the top edge of the bowl. So 4 quarts is not the capacity for what can be mixed at a time. It is the capacity for what can be stored.

Also from the manual, "Do not attempt to knead more than 8 ounces of heavy dough or batter (heavy cookie dough or candy batter) at one time."

This is a wonderful mixer!
I received this mixer as a birthday present a year ago. I love to bake, so I use it for everthing from liquid cake mixes to stiff cookie doughs and frostings. Anyone who does cake decorating will appreciate the powerful motor for mixing stiff Royal icings. The bowls are of generous size and do not come off while mixing. The push botton controls and pause are easy to use and the entire unit wipes clean. I would recommend this mixer to anyone who is looking for a quaility and durable mixer.

be careful with it
I've owned this skillet for about a year and a half. After the first 3 months, I began to notice brownish dark areas around the handle. I'd assume that it's from uneven heating. Unfortunately the non-stick wasn't resilient to fork use (my roomate cooks with a fork, regardless of how many times I warn him not to) and I got a few scratches on the surface pretty early.

After about a year of hand washing it, I got lazy one day and put it in the dishwasher. It pretty much tore up the non-stick coating. So in about a year and a half of usage, I'm retiring it.

Overall, it was a good pan for the price. It did everything well when it was in good condition. The handle was always cool/warm during cooking. I did some no-oil egg cooking a few times when it was new. In hindsight (or in 20/20 vision...), I'd prolly get a Calphalon since they're non-stick masters and I haven't heard any complaints from my friend who has one.

great skillet
In my opinion, this is the best non-stick skillet you can get for the price. It has a good heft which allows for even heating- the heavier the better. This pan has an aluminum base, so the sides won't conduct heat as well- if you wanted something that had even heating on the sides, look into Calphalon tri-ply or All-Clad and be prepared to spend ALOT more money. As far as skillets go, I don't think the price justifies the mininal gain. Everything cooks up great, and it can be used in the oven as well, which is great for those dishes that start on a burner- just remember that even though the handle stays cool on the range, it heats up with everything else in the oven. The handle seems well rivited to the pan, so I can't imagine it will ever come loose. And clean up is a cinch. I liked it so much, I bought the 12" version, too.

best in non-stick under 50 dollars
I have the 8 inch non-stick and it is wonderful. I have had a lot of bad luck with non-stick pans in the past. One was the shedding of the non-stick on my food making it look like it had been "peppered". So I was watching American Test Kitchen today and they were testing the best non-stick pans under 50 dollars and this was the one they rated the best. They burnt oatmeal for 45-minutes in this pan with no oil and it just slid right out. I love my 8 inch pan and so I am buying the 10 inch today because I know it will be just as good.

Pleased with this item......except
Overall I am very pleased with my slow cooker. The one downfall, and the reason I rated it 3 stars is because the outside of the cooker becomes very hot. Especially when on high cooking temperature.

I do like the ease of the lift out crock, the glass lid, and the large oval shape.

When the time comes to buy another slow cooker, I will defiantely look for a cool touch model.

Sleek, Safe, Sizeable... and the Food Tastes Great, Too!
I bought this unit as a replacement for a Rival programmable cooker that came with a non-fit cover and punched out 'feet'. The Farberware slow cooker has been a delight to use. I have made beef stew, baked beans, soup and even a sinfully moist chocolate cake. Each recipe turned out beautifully. The cover is a tight fit and the metal ring around the rim assures a vapor seal, preventing moisture loss. Of particular note are the settings: Low, High and Auto. The Auto function heats the unit to the High setting and then automatically shifts to the Low setting. This assures a quick heating of the unit and discourages the possibility of food contamination from bacteria. Aesthetically, the cooker will look great on your counter with its polished steel body and sleek black insert. One word of caution, however: the outside does get hot so you will want to keep it out of the reach of the kids. The handles stay cool, but if you have to move it, you may want to use hot pads just to be safe .

Great Product!!!!!
I received slow cooker for Christmas. It cooks very quickly. It blew my old crock pot away. The food was done in half the time of the crock pot. It's very attractive too. I love it!

what the heck is this? GARBAGE!
Thank God I got these free. They aren't worth a dime. Light weight and a cheap coating. Don't waste your money.

On a positive note, I did get some cast iron pans a few months ago. Never tried cooking with them before but wow...best non-stick surface EVER, and they just keep getting better with age. If you haven't tried them, highly recommended. They even go in the oven, which makes the best salmon ever! (Season, sear on one side, flip, then put in a 350 degree oven for about 8 minutes or until flaky).

A great buy for a single person.
I think theese pans are great. They are light weight and durable. I have been using them for a few months now and I have yet to have something stick to them that took more then two seconds to clean. The only problem is they are small. I wouldn't recomend them for someone who had a lot (or even two) people to feed.

Faberware
For me has alwas been a good buy. And while I haven't gotten this product yet I know it will be just as good as the other one I have are.

Absolutely no durability
aI purchased this Farberware pasta pot a few months ago and really loved it the first few times I used it. Although I never used any metal or hard utensils with it, the non-stick coating started to peel off in many places. Absolutley no durabilty and in z very short time became worthless junk. I called the 800 # for Farberware and they said it had a 30 day warranty only and there was nothing they could do. They basically disavowed anything to do with it and told me it was not one of their regular products but a product unique to Amazon. I purchased this based on the Farberware name and will never buy another of their products.

This is a durable, good looking Pot and functional Top
I personally like this pot. I have used it to cook a few times now and it has worked well for me.

The top does not exactly lock. The handles flip into place and while you are holding the handles it holds the top onto the pot.

Some people may not have the hand strength to be able to hold a full pot of water and pour the contents through the strainer top and keep the lid closed. I personally have no issue with and and was able to pour the water out, keep the elbow macaroni inside and not get burned by the steam from the boiling water.

The pot cleaned very well and the noodles did not really stick to it (unless like any cookware you forget about the contents and let it burn).

It is functional and does what it says. It does not EXACTLY lock but if you can hold onto the handles it works as stated. Four of Five stars from me.

Better than the "Pasta Pro"
As mentioned in one of the other reviews, the lid for this pot does not "lock" into place when pooring. The handles are simply little levers; when you grasp them, they fold over the lid to keep it in place. This does require a little bit of "gripping power" to maintain, but it's not overly strenuous. Having said that, I purchased a "Pasta Pro" last year and this pot has 2 distinct advantages:

1) the inner coating is more durable. Within 1 week, the coating on the Pasta Pro began peeling. We ended up throwing it out within a month - a waste of money.

2) the so-called "locking" lid on the Pasta Pro is a faulty design. In order to lock it into place, you must use the knob on top to turn the lid; however, the screw holding the knob becomes loose very easily. This means that turning the knob does just that: turns the knob. The lid itself does not turn. Oh sure, you can turn the lid without the knob using your fingertips - if they're made of teflon! With a loose knob, it is virtually impossible to turn the hot lid to either tighten or loosen it.

Overall, I would have to say that this pot is vastly superior to the Pasta Pro. The force required to keep the lid in place is not excessive, and it is easy to use.

Absolutely worthless!
Don't be fooled by the photographs! They are light (not suitable for electrical stoves); they are extremely cheaply made; they bend easily in high heat; the non-stick surface is for laughs; and they have very short lifespan. Spend the same amount and get one pan but of better quality.

Real basic
Very lightweight, I don't know if that is good or bad. Judging the product based on its appearance I expected more. My empty 12 cup coffee maker weighs more than these three pans combined.
They do let you cook in them without anything sticking. Simply put, you get three basic fry pans to use without fear of losing major income if they get ruined. As with most nonstick, don't use high heat as the manufacturer indicates.

Great Value - Good Performer
I love these pans.
I've had pans that cost more for one pan then for all three of these, and don't work any better then these.
You can find more impressive looking, or more exspensive pans. But as someone whose had those other pans. I have to say; save your money and get these.
Heat transfer is great, and clean up is a snap.
Like all teflon pans you have to be careful of the surface.
