About two weeks ago I stumbled across a competitor's model at Bed, Bath & Beyond and, lo and behold, it came with detailed instructions (which I immediately read and memorized while keeping an eye out for nosy sales people).

Here are the most important things I learned (and, boy, are they important!):
First rule: Use only skim milk.
Second rule: Make sure the skim milk is really cold

And, after taking those two rules to heart, I found (to my incredible surprise) that the darn thing actually worked like a charm! Since then, I've grown to use my frother every day to make delicious cafe au laits. Actually, if it were to break down, I'm pretty sure I'd go right out and buy another!

As much as I've grown to like my frother (now that I've learned the trick to using it), I only give it four stars because (a) it doesn't work on anything fatter than skim milk, and (b) because Bodum didn't bother to include really-important instructions with it.

Overall, however, I'd assuredly recommend it for people who want a bit of foam with their Java but don't want to go to the trouble of steaming. And because I use it in my office at work, portability is a definite plus, so that's another reason you may want to purchase this do-hickey.
