Great Cookware at a great pricePluses: 1)Cookware heats up very quickly and evenly 2) non-stick surface works great and can go into dishwasher 3) Size of pieces in set is large 4) See through lids are great on the saucepans, others are solid.
Minuses: 1)Would have preferred 1.5 qt non-stick saucepan to be included, works great with burnt milk. 2) 2qt casserole pan is not needed-prefer Le Creuset for this purpose 3) 5 1/2 qt saute pan is HUGE, but would have preferred a non-stick coating to make cooking easier. Stainless surface allows in to go into oven (although non-stick pans are stable to 450 F!) 4) Comes in plain cardboard box.
Overall I love this cookware. I can afford more expensive cookware but I love the value. Distribution of pieces could be better, but that is true of any multipiece set.
Best Cookware I have ever used.
Always wanted it, finally got it!Thanks again for a great product at an affordable price.

Disappointing. Cannot recommend.
Use gently, then figure out how to clean!
About as nice as a non professional chef could want.

Disappointed
Best Cookware Bargain Out There! The other things I like about these pots:
1) My set didn't contain useless or superfluous pots, like in other expensive sets. (Who needs an itty bitty 8" frying pan!?)
2) The handles aren't attached by rivets. Don't be fooled! Though rivets look more durable or heavy-duty (read expensive) they make the pot that much harder to clean, ie. sauce caught under the rivet head.
3) Though heavy gauge with good solid weight, they aren't so impossibly heavy that a smaller woman, like myself :), can't handle them with one hand.
4) Don't discolor from acid like aluminum sets like Calphalon and Circulon. Plus you can bang them around, and they still look great. Calphalon sets need too much babying.
5) You can stick them in the oven, like when I am searing on stovetop then have to roast or broil in the oven. Great convenience.
A couple complaints:
1) Despite claims, the handles do not stay cool. In fact, they get almost as hot as the pan! Always have to use mitts to move them around.
2) Have to be careful about what temperature to set the stovetop. Must use only lower heat. The super heat conductivity of the copper necessitates you respond instantly, but this would not be any different from using super-expensive French copper pots.
My sister-in-law received a set of All-Clad stainless from her wedding registry. No denying they are well-made pans, but she didn't have to pay for them. My set for a 1/3 of the cost is just as nice, and maybe because I know I bought them to actually COOK with, I'm not afraid to really abuse them ie. taking metal utensils to them, scouring them, banging them together, scraping pan drippings, etc.
Don't take my word for it: Look at what the pros use. Except when they are paid to do it or when they get them for free, the pros don't use aluminum; they use stainless steel or copper. And when they use stainless steel, they don't use the precious expensive stuff, they use the heavy duty cookware, like France's Sitram brand. I think the Cuisinart set is great because it takes some of that durability and functionality but also looks pretty and stylish.

Burning when used with gasWe have had a set for nearly 15 years and it worked fine when used with electric stoves. We now have a professional gas cooktop with very large burners. As a result, we get burning along the sides of the pots.
The base of each unit has a thick copper core that promotes even heating. The heat from the gas flame causes burning to occur along the sides where the metal is thin.
We are planning to convert most of our cookware to thicker units (All-Clad or Calphalon style) as we replace them.
Love My Pots!
A Godsend for our kitchenThis cookware is versatile, too. We routinely put it in the dishwasher to clean it, and it comes out looking brand new. We've never had to use any of it in the oven, but since this cookware is all metal this wouldn't be a problem, either. We generally haven't had sticking problems except with the fry pan; I would recommend that you get a nonstick fry pan separately, or make sure you oil the fry pan in this set before each use. As for price? It's not cheap, but check the prices for other "premium" cookware! For what you get, Cuisinart is a good value.
This set is fantastic because every piece, and I mean every piece, is functional and useful. Even the most questionable piece, the steamer insert, I use all the time!! All the things I used to boil to death, such as potatoes or corn, I now steam for better taste, texture and nutritional value.
I've had this set for over two years now, and I've put some serious miles on every piece and they still look great -- I display them out in the open. And believe me, I really bang around these pots. A few scratch marks inside from some vigorous scrubbing, but the mirror finish on the outside still remains. I recently added a non-stick wok from the same line and I have a few Le Creuset pieces which work better with slow-cook stews and soups, but really this set pretty much covers all my stovetop needs. And I love that if ever I may need replacement pieces in the future, they don't cost an arm and a leg. They are great pots meant to be used and abused, not collectors' items to be passed down to your children (which is the only way to get your money's worth from the All-Clads). An excellent value for high-quality pots meant for everyday use.
P.S. If money and maintenance are no object, for Pete's sake, show some taste and get the Mauviel copper lined in stainless, instead of throwing your money, sheep-like, at All-Clad.
