No wasted pieces!
I could go on and on about how I love my set and all its great features (and I do! as the reviewer from NYC under the other 10-piece set). But what I love best about this set: NO WASTED PIECES. I hate when supposedly reputable cookware companies (hear me Calphalon and All-Clad?) stick you with useless pieces in their packaged sets. I mean, who needs an 8-in skillet? Or two saucepans that are pretty much the same size?

This set is fantastic because every piece, and I mean every piece, is functional and useful. Even the most questionable piece, the steamer insert, I use all the time!! All the things I used to boil to death, such as potatoes or corn, I now steam for better taste, texture and nutritional value.

I've had this set for over two years now, and I've put some serious miles on every piece and they still look great -- I display them out in the open. And believe me, I really bang around these pots. A few scratch marks inside from some vigorous scrubbing, but the mirror finish on the outside still remains. I recently added a non-stick wok from the same line and I have a few Le Creuset pieces which work better with slow-cook stews and soups, but really this set pretty much covers all my stovetop needs. And I love that if ever I may need replacement pieces in the future, they don't cost an arm and a leg. They are great pots meant to be used and abused, not collectors' items to be passed down to your children (which is the only way to get your money's worth from the All-Clads). An excellent value for high-quality pots meant for everyday use.

P.S. If money and maintenance are no object, for Pete's sake, show some taste and get the Mauviel copper lined in stainless, instead of throwing your money, sheep-like, at All-Clad.

Awesome Cookware!!
I have been looking around for the best cookware and I think I have found it!! It is beautiful, cleans easy and I just love it!!!!

Simply the Best!
I love to cook and consider myself a gourmet. I have used several other types of cookware, including copper, aluminum and non-stick. I have had the most success with my set of Cuisinart stainless cookware. It is designed well, cooks well and keeps its appearance after many years of use. Cuisinart is also easy to clean, I have even burned things and have been able to restore the finish.

I can't believe the performance of this cookware for the price, pick these pans up and they will bring you many years of enjoyment.

Excellence in everyday cookware
Two years ago we received a gift of a Cuisinart Everyday Stainless stockpot. We had just installed a flat-top range and we were finding that our old aluminum pots with rounded bottoms spent more time dancing around on the burner than cooking. This pot heats in a fraction of the time. I have a small fudge making operation. We had used Le Cruset enameled iron pots because of their even heating. The Cuisinart stockpot is far superior in being lighter and especially difficult to scorch, which is so important in candy making and simmering thick stews like chili or tomato sauce. I am anxiously waiting for the arrival of a full set of Everyday Stainless. Amazon's current prices are amazingly low for this product.

Great Product!
I compared the Calphalon and All-Clad products to this one. The main differences are sturdier handles and slightly thicker metal on the high-end brands. I have used this product for some time and it works great. I actually bought the All-Clad but returned it when I found this one. It has a larger cooking surface area than the others. Greater surface area was my main reason for purchasing a double burner griddle. It heats evenly and is great for cooking pancakes, french toast, sausage, bacon, eggs....and more. It has a lifetime warranty and can go in the oven up to 450 F. Highly recommended!

A Great Griddle
My wife really like's this griddle, I got it for her birthday and she recieved from Amazon yesterday. The clean up is so easy. You have to use it to know how wonderful it really is. If anyone is thinking of buying it, will certainly be happy they did. It's great if you have a large family too. She said it is a five star griddle!

Love it
One of the best purchases I've made lately. I can cook 3 pancakes at once or a whole package of bacon, plus sausages. Beautiful too, and I just throw it in the dishwasher when done.

Great pan
Great pan. It took me a while to figure out how to keep foods from sticking but now I love it. Add a little oil but make sure you don't overheat it, med-to-med hi is good. Put meat in, let it sear and don't touch it until it's completely seared. Then it releases and can be turned over without sticking. It's great for searing steaks or chicken breasts and then putting into oven to finish. Add a little broth, wine and butter to the drippings and you get a great sauce to go with it. Plus it's a great looking pan too.

Plesantly impressed
I had ordered a set of Revere Ware pans from another web site for my daughter and was completely disappointed in the weight and quality of them, so they're on their way back. I just received one of the Cuisinart pans in the set that I ordered for her from Amazon.com today and WOW!!! I love it. So much so, in fact, that I have just ordered myself a set!!!!! She's getting her's tomorrow, the rest should be here by then, and I can't wait to get mine!!!!! I know that it won't be long because her's came within 5 days of the order being placed! Thanks Amazon for a great deal too.

Great Little Pan
We've had this about three months now and use it all the time. The nice, thick bottom helps to distribute heat evenly. It's easy to clean, as there's no place for food to get stuck where you can't get at it. Over all, its nice, solid construction suggests that it's built to last a lifetime. We usually just pick up pans and things like this at second-hand stores because we're cheap, but this is one of those items I'd buy brand new again if the price was right (we got it for ten bucks - a phenomenal deal through Amazon).

Great Cookware at a great price
I just splurged on the 13-piece set. I have bought individual non-stick pieces previously and have been very pleased. A major differnece with this cookware is that, if necessary, you can put the non-stick cookware in the dishwasher. Other non-stick cookware such as Calphalon prohibit this.

Pluses: 1)Cookware heats up very quickly and evenly 2) non-stick surface works great and can go into dishwasher 3) Size of pieces in set is large 4) See through lids are great on the saucepans, others are solid.

Minuses: 1)Would have preferred 1.5 qt non-stick saucepan to be included, works great with burnt milk. 2) 2qt casserole pan is not needed-prefer Le Creuset for this purpose 3) 5 1/2 qt saute pan is HUGE, but would have preferred a non-stick coating to make cooking easier. Stainless surface allows in to go into oven (although non-stick pans are stable to 450 F!) 4) Comes in plain cardboard box.

Overall I love this cookware. I can afford more expensive cookware but I love the value. Distribution of pieces could be better, but that is true of any multipiece set.

Best Cookware I have ever used.
I purchsed the thirteen piece set for a wedding gift for my daughter. She gave me a seven piece set of the cookware in 1982. I have used these pieces daily, and they still look almost new, and they are easy to keep clean. Cooking with them is efficient because of the construction of the bottom. They work very good on my glass top electric range. The bottoms have not warped as some pans do. My daughter knew how satisfied I was with the set I have, and when I asked her if she would like them for a wedding gift, she immediately said yes. I cannot imagine anyone who would not enjoy cooking with this cookware.

Always wanted it, finally got it!
Just received this set for Christmas and I love it. It cleans very easily. There are no "hot spots" so everything cooks evenly no matter where it is in the pan. I love the fact that it can go from stove to oven to table to dishwasher. Nothing could be better. A double boiler the same size as the steamer would be a great plus.

Thanks again for a great product at an affordable price.

Excellent pan for the money!
This pan is typical of Cuisinart quality. Weighty and well made, it cooks evenly and has a professional look. It cleans up easily and is an excellent value. To the reviewer who complained about the "non-stick" not working...this is NOT a non-stick pan.

Very Nice Pan
I have had this pan for a month now, and I am pleased with it. Perfect for sauteing steaks, chicken breasts, pork etc... on the stovetop, or pan-grilling over high heat and finishing in the oven. Also good for skillet dinners. A must have. "The Best Recipe" cookbook is also a must have.

Love This PAN!!
I got the Cuisinart Classic cookware for christmas and I absolutely love it. I made grilled cheese on this pan and they were the best we've ever had. They cooked evenly and browned to a nice crisp finish. No sogginess like when I use my non-stick pans. I like this pan so much I'm getting another!!

Disappointing. Cannot recommend.
I was excitied to get these pans, but was disappointed by their flimsiness when they finally arrived. The bottoms are fine, although they heat up so quickly that things burn easily in them. ( I was trying to buy thick bottomed pans to prevent that from happening). The sides feel very thin, similar to the really [inexpensive] stuff at a discount store. The pans scratch easily if you use anything other that a soft cloth or sponge. The 2 frying pans are too small for anything other than eggs. I wish that someone had written this in a review before I shelled out my money. I give it 3 stars for the price, but am a little disappointed by how much things like a steamer insert will cost me.

Use gently, then figure out how to clean!
I purchased the 13-piece stainless set without realizing how carefully the pieces would need to be used and cared for. While it's rarely wise to use high heat on the range top, doing so will definitely create an indelible mark in these pans. Also, minerals in the water that I wash these pans with tends to leave a rainbow appearance inside of them which I find undesirable. I am learning to clean them by trial and error. I have enjoyed the most cleaning success with Bon Ami, a gentle cleansing powder located near Comet cleanser in grocery stores. While I'm a faithful Cuisinart fan, I regret not holding out for some good Calphalon non-stick cookware. On a final note, it sure is BEAUTIFUL suspended from the pot rack in my kitchen!

About as nice as a non professional chef could want.
This is a great deal on a full set of excellent, everyday cookware. It is attractive, easy to clean (it may be placed in the dishwasher without damaging either the exterior mirror finish or the interior non-stick surface) and nicely balanced when held by the stay-cool handles. Most importantly, cooks will love its performance. We have been using Calphalon for the last few years, and I not only find this set looks better and costs less, but cooks just as well and cleans up much more easily.

Disappointed
I bought this set to use with a new smooth top range. After 1 use, the skillets discolored. I have a set of 20-year old, made in the USA, everyday cookware that is heavier and still shining.

Best Cookware Bargain Out There!
I've had this cookware for a couple years (though when I bought the set, I received a 3 1/2 qt. saute pan instead of a useless 8" frying pan) and I love my set! I've sold cookware in the past and have done plenty of research, but it doesn't take a cooking expert to know that the best chefs out there prefer copper pots. This set takes the heat conductivity of copper with the durability of stainless steel (what they use in professional kitchens and restaurants), and fashions them into beautiful looking cookware! After two years, my set still looks great, where I display them out in the open. The trick is to know how to care for them, which seems to the biggest complaint from Amazon customers. In the beginning, I had the same frustration, but found a great product in The Barkeeper's Friend. It is a gentle scouring powder a la Bon Ami, and just a little soaking and gentle scrubing will leave the pots looking like new. Try it.

The other things I like about these pots:
1) My set didn't contain useless or superfluous pots, like in other expensive sets. (Who needs an itty bitty 8" frying pan!?)
2) The handles aren't attached by rivets. Don't be fooled! Though rivets look more durable or heavy-duty (read expensive) they make the pot that much harder to clean, ie. sauce caught under the rivet head.
3) Though heavy gauge with good solid weight, they aren't so impossibly heavy that a smaller woman, like myself :), can't handle them with one hand.
4) Don't discolor from acid like aluminum sets like Calphalon and Circulon. Plus you can bang them around, and they still look great. Calphalon sets need too much babying.
5) You can stick them in the oven, like when I am searing on stovetop then have to roast or broil in the oven. Great convenience.

A couple complaints:
1) Despite claims, the handles do not stay cool. In fact, they get almost as hot as the pan! Always have to use mitts to move them around.
2) Have to be careful about what temperature to set the stovetop. Must use only lower heat. The super heat conductivity of the copper necessitates you respond instantly, but this would not be any different from using super-expensive French copper pots.

My sister-in-law received a set of All-Clad stainless from her wedding registry. No denying they are well-made pans, but she didn't have to pay for them. My set for a 1/3 of the cost is just as nice, and maybe because I know I bought them to actually COOK with, I'm not afraid to really abuse them ie. taking metal utensils to them, scouring them, banging them together, scraping pan drippings, etc.

Don't take my word for it: Look at what the pros use. Except when they are paid to do it or when they get them for free, the pros don't use aluminum; they use stainless steel or copper. And when they use stainless steel, they don't use the precious expensive stuff, they use the heavy duty cookware, like France's Sitram brand. I think the Cuisinart set is great because it takes some of that durability and functionality but also looks pretty and stylish.

Great Deal
I purchased this cookware and received the teakettle for free, plus it also came with kitchen towels, measuring cups, measuring spoons, and a cookbook. I don't know if Amazon offers this deal, but it is worth checking out.

Burning when used with gas
The three previous reviews, while not in agreement, point out one serious flaw in this cookware for some gas users.

We have had a set for nearly 15 years and it worked fine when used with electric stoves. We now have a professional gas cooktop with very large burners. As a result, we get burning along the sides of the pots.

The base of each unit has a thick copper core that promotes even heating. The heat from the gas flame causes burning to occur along the sides where the metal is thin.

We are planning to convert most of our cookware to thicker units (All-Clad or Calphalon style) as we replace them.

Love My Pots!
I don't even remember how long ago I bought this cookware. My first set was a Farberware which fell apart after a few years- all I have left from it is a handleless stockpot. When I bought this cookware I could finally make unburnt puddings and sauces. I love the handles- the only time they get hot is if I put the pot on a too big burner and the heat from the burner gets on the handles. I love being able to brown a roast, slap a lid on the pot, put the whole thing in the oven , and then save the leftovers in it in the refrigerator.Of course, I'll stick it in the dishwasher when I'm through. The only damage they have suffered, is a ding in the lid when I dropped it. My daughter in law, knowing my frugality, was shocked when she saw these pots in the store. She called to make sure I had really spent that much. And they are worth every penny! I bought her a set (she hasn't complained) and plan to get one for my prospective daughter in law as well. Happy cooking!

A Godsend for our kitchen
I just read another person's poor review of this product, and it compelled me to write because my wife and I have had a very different experience. This cookware is a Godsend. It looks great and is made of heavier metal than the everyday cookware most people use. It has copper sealed inside the base of each piece to promote even heating. We use ours everyday for soups, sauces, vegetables, eggs, etc., and we've never had a problem... and in our experience, the handles have never gotten more than slightly warm.

This cookware is versatile, too. We routinely put it in the dishwasher to clean it, and it comes out looking brand new. We've never had to use any of it in the oven, but since this cookware is all metal this wouldn't be a problem, either. We generally haven't had sticking problems except with the fry pan; I would recommend that you get a nonstick fry pan separately, or make sure you oil the fry pan in this set before each use. As for price? It's not cheap, but check the prices for other "premium" cookware! For what you get, Cuisinart is a good value.
