great
i first bought circulon cookwear 15 years ago. i love the way the food cooks and how easily they clean up. i recently tried another brand of cookwear and it does'nt compare,(even though the price was similiar)i will stick with circulon from now on.

Amazing Cookware
The very first time I used this stockpot, I made a chili. After browning the meat and adding the other ingredients, I neglected to turn the flame down so the chili could simmer. Any other pot I own would have formed a burned ring of food at the bottom by the time I returned 30 minutes later, but the Circulon stockpot was merrily boiling. Not only that, but the ENTIRE surface of the chili was boiling, not just a ring around the outside. The heat transfer properties are wonderful! Cleanup afterward is a true breeze, and though I haven't had time to really test it, the finish looks tough as nails. I'm happy with this product, and what a great price!

Top stock pot
I have purchased many Cuisinart pots and pans over the last 17 years. In the 90's Cuisinart made some cookware in the Pacific rim, (small sauce pans and skillets with a square, not round, hole in handle), it didn't seem to measure up to their usual standards. This stock pot has the same quality and feel as my 1985 starter sets' 9-quart stock pot. I am completely satisfied with my new 16-quart stock pot and the price from Amazon made me feel guiltly for paying so little!

Great value, extremely versatile
I've had this fantastic pot for 3 weeks and so far I've used it to make chili, sauces, sausage and meatballs, soups, rice and risotto with meat and vegetables, saute'd chopped meat, fish and veggies; mashed potatoes; and to boil 6 ears of medium sized corn and up to one lb. of pasta. The best features are: quick and even heating; sturdy without being bulky and very easy to clean - makes me want to use it again and again.

I bought several pieces of Cuisinart cookware, but this pot is my favorite in the product line. I have only one suggestion for improvement - add an accessory for steaming fish and vegetables -then it will be the perfect 'cooks-it-all' pan.

What A Great Deal!
When I saw the price of this Cuisinart soup pot I thought it was an error! But I think this pot is great and I use it several times a week or more. We like soups and chili and taco filling. This is an excellent non-stick pan that goes from the stove-top to the oven and looks great on the table or my wrought iron shelf. Everyone should have this premium pot in their kitchen!

Circulon Classic 12 QT covered stockpot
Recently purchased the Circulon Classic 12 qt. covered stockpot.
After having purchased a wide variety of stockpots, I find this particular one a great buy. I mainly purchased this pot to cook my meatball/crab sauce. I usually cook a lot at one time, so I needed a large pot with a lid so that the ingredients would not boil over the top. I find the shape of the pot along with the high dome lid exceptional. I also have to mention that I cook on a glass top electric range. This pot stays put.

It does not slide all over the place like my other pots do. I like it so much I am ordering the 12qt pot for my son who also loves to cook. The price of the stock pot was well within my budget. Fantastic buy. I would recommend this pot to everyone.

best investment
just bought this pot and i couldn't be more pleased with the investment. very solid construction, great looking. I have looked around at many retail stores. a ...12-qt pot just can't be as good as this.

I usually cook a kind of rice soup that always stick to the bottom of the pot but i've tried with this one and it didn't stick at all.

If you need a stock pot this size, stop looking around before they're all gone. this is best with no shipping or tax. bravo Amazone!

Good little stockpot
Stockpots (despite what All-Clad wants you to think) don't really need to be made of enamel-over-cast-iron or stainless-over-aluminum: the heat is spread by the simmering liquid inside the pot, not by heat diffusion up the sides. So, all a good stockpot needs is a diffuser on the bottom, to avoid a hot-spot from the burner.

This good little stockpot fits the bill very nicely. The copper disk on the bottom acts as a decent heat diffuser, particularly if you follow the instructions and keep the heat on medium or low. The handles usually stay cool enough to drag the pot around on the stovetop (though they will heat up uncomfortably if you've got a full pot on high boil). The shape of the pot (sides almost as high as the pot diameter) means that liquid can simmer overnight without reducing too much, or all evaporating away. The size is small enough to fit on the top rack of the dishwasher, and big enough to make stock from a whole chicken (this past thanksgiving, I boiled up the broken-up frames from two 12-pound turkeys).

My only objections to this pot are that the lid is very light, without the heft or deep draw of the All-Clad or Kitchenaid lids, and that the handles are so low down on the side of the pot that it's hard to hang it on my kitchen grid (I have a Heller grid system, with plastic hooks). Considering the price difference between this and the All-Clad, however, that's not a deal-breaker.

If you're planning on doing some blanching, you probably want to get the Everyday Stainless pasta set (which is this pot with an insert). Putting the pot itself in cold water will only cause the copper disk on the bottom to separate off: copper is more heat responsive than stainless, and will shrink and grow faster in response to rapid temperature changes. This is the other reason why the higher end pots are aluminum "clad" with stainless for the whole pot, and not just a disk on the bottom. (And for stock, if you know how to care for a pot, it's not worth the extra money).

It's absolutely my favorite pot!
I purchased this stockpot on a pre-order basis. I'd almost forgotten about it since there was a pretty long lag between ordering and shipping. In September, just as promised, the pot arrived.

When I opened the box and felt the wonderful finish for the first time, I was hooked. In terms of the sensual, this is the smoothest, nicest feeling piece of cookware I own.

Visually, this piece is a treat. I love the way the brand name is visible on it's side. The fine reputation of this company appeals to the snob in me, and the signature on the pot says I have good taste in cookware. Yes, this is a bit of a joke, but not entirely.

I was amazed at how FAST water boils in this pot! Incredible! And the ease of cleaning is fantastic! All stainless steel does in fact get marks and stains, but the finish is so good on this piece, I simply wash and dry it, and put a tablespoon or two of white vinegar in it after cleaning, put the lid on, let it sit overnight, then rinse and dry. Perfect! No harsh chemicals, no scratchy cleansers.... This technique does not work on my other stainless steel.

The pot is heavy, something I like in cookware. It has well designed handles that really do stay cool. It serves it's purpose magnificently. It heats evenly, and I assume this is due to the aluminum bottom.

I searched for a long time to find a pot of this size by the way. Five quarts is so perfect for s single person household, yet for some reason, stockpots of this size are scarce as hen's teeth it seems.

I love this pot! It has me convinced that I want a teakettle made by these people.

Thank you Cuisinart for such a beautiful product!

Great size, great price, great quality !
I looked everywhere for a small affordable stock pot. This stock pot has everything- great quality, great size and a great price. It's perfect for everyday cooking. Big enough for lots of Chili and soup- yet small and compact for storage. I just love the size!

Not the right pot for steaming!
The pot is beautiful, the finish shiny. The pot itself is a nice weight and boiled water quickly. However, I bought this pot mainly to steam veggies. And I found out after one use that this pot is not for steaming. The lid is so light that the steam was pouring out from all around the lid. I had moisture all over the stove, the fan hood, the wall. What a mess.
It's probably fine for ordinary cooking but in recipes where the lid needs to seal this is not your pot.

A definite must buy
This is my everyday pan and I don't know where I would be without it. I had reservations since it's not nonstick but I've had no problems--even getting the burned beans off which I'd forgotten about (to help remove them I simmered some water with tomato juice--perhaps lemon would work as well).
