my 3 roommates and 2 of our fiancees love these knives! they are wonderful! we have 6 people cooking meals during the week and the knives have not worn down at all in the past 11 months. it is truly effortless cutting. we are all buying our own sets of these knives now. we love them!

I just received these knives as a wedding present and they are not only really great knives, but they look good! I would recommend these to anyone. They are definitely worth the money, and go well with the steak knives, too!

I have only had this set about one week now, but I love these knives. They are sharp out of the box, easy to keep clean, and very versatile. The only problem that I have with these knives are the handles. They are a bit small, even for paring knives. Other than that they are great. I would definitely recommend Henckels to anyone looking for a good knife.

this set of knives is simply incredible - a MUST for any kitchen, especially a small one or if you just do a lot of quick small tasks. these things are SHARP, and, as standard for henckels, supremely made.

My only complaint is that the handle color of these knives is actually a distinctive dark gray, not black, which is fine except that I can't find a cleaver to match! They're wonderful knives for the price, however.

I recently picked up the french blade at [a store] and figured that it was worth a try for the price, and knew that I had always been happy with a Henckels blade. The first time that I used it I loved it. It performs comperably if not better than many of the more expensive and equally reputable brands that I had had the luxury of using while working as a sous chef. I highly recommend these knifes to anyone looking for a good, well-balanced blade that will perform. Take my advice, though, and hand-wash and immediately dry just to be sure.

The "real" Henckels logo is a twin, this set has only one. The steel is German, the manufacture is Chinese. My family has "real" Henckels knives that are 50 years old, I bought this set so we could take them out of circulation while the handles were replaced. These new knives aren't bad, they will certainly do well for "temporary replacement" or other light duty. But let's face the facts: you get what you pay for.
Having said that, the knives are pretty good, and the block makes safe storage very achievable. Just don't expect them to hold up forever. If you want heirloom quality knives that will hold up in daily use for the rest of your life (and your children's), be prepared to spend about 10 times as much. If you just want something to tide you over for a while, get these and start saving for the "real twins."

I know they say you get what you pay for, but I really like these knives. The price was about all I could afford at the time, and they've been great. They cut so smoothly, and if you take care of them they will last a long time.
