No go for weight watchers!
We grill almost every day, winter and Summer, we have been "getting along" up to now with a Charboil grill which is cheap, and I am afraid, rather nasty but I didn`t know about Weber in those days.
When the Summit arrived, I knew that this was a different level of grilling. The first time I switched it on and fired up I was thinking, "the people who designed this knew what they were doing"
Easy to assemble, an eyecatcher on the deck and a charm to use.
Even cleaning it shows that this product was made by someone who KNOWS GRILLING. But be careful, using this baby has made me put on 5 pounds in two weeks. Thats the only down side. This machine is perfect and worth every one of the 999 dollars it cost.

If you want viking quality but not viking price, Summit!!
I remember looking at a summit grill five years ago but fell for a "Cook On" instead. I remember the sales guy told me if you have the money summit is the only grill worth it. That was five years ago and the summit has just gotten better. The frame is strong, the body of the grill is twice as thick as others and the stainless looks clean. Flavor bars are solid and heavy. Big difference from Genesis! Most grills warn you not to exceen 500F, the Weber wants you to pre heat to 550F. Controls are perfect and look like they will wear well. Cart is good size and sturdy. Warming racks sit high enough you can leave them on and still reach the back of the grill. Four burners is a must and being able to control them like the Weber can is great. To sum it up, easy to build, easy to use, nice cook book comes with and warranty is best in business. This should be a ten year grill so remember that when you buy. This is a true five star grill for those who want to step up from a Genesis or a Target special grill.

Hot Hot Hot!!!
This is my fifth lifetime Weber grill and they keep getting beter. Just like any other Weber, the quality is superb, the food tastes great, and it is sturdy as a rock! What seperates this one from the rest is striking looks! I proudly rolled this fine piece of culinary genius onto my back deck for the neighbors to gauck at! Oh, and the perfect touch is the beautiful thermometer set into the lid, with the nice red and black Weber logo. The silver and black thermometer and the stainless steel plating is what takes this grill to the SUMMIT! I'm proud to be a five time Weber customer.

One of the best, if not thee best, grill for the price.
Started researching for gas grills online and at the local home depot and lowes and narrowed my choice down to a weber. Nothing comes close in price to weber's use of stainless stell burners, grills, flavorizer bars and hood. I chose the gold B model because I would rarely use the side burner and if I did needed it, I would use the stove in the kitchen.

The free delivery by Eagle Transport was excellent. Took about 14 days from initial order to receiving grill. Eagle delivery person phoned ahead on cellphone to alert of actual time of arrival. Packaging was very good and instructions are well laid out. You definitely need two people to set this grill up. I muscled the grill together myself (too ignorant to wait for help) in about half an hour but I advise against this because of possible injury. Otherwise setup was 8 bolts along with putting the side and bottom trays together.

The grill wheels around very easily and the stainless cover feels heavy duty and looks beautiful. To me, this grill looks more expensive than it is. This grill feels like a tank; nothing rattles. The stainless steel grills look like they would last forever...Grill ignited on the first click and the other burners came on without a hiccup. Temperature came up to 500 degrees in a few minutes. I cooked beer can chicken at 350 using the indirect method by turning the top and bottom burners to low. Temperature stayed constant and I didn't have to fiddle with the controls after that.

The correct grill cover for this model is the 9859 not the 9957 that amazon recommends. Check the weber website; it says the 9859 is for the 2002 models which this new gold B is...The cover [I bought separately]fits perfectly is very heavy duty. Highly recommended. Another tip that I want to share is to line the disposable aluminum drip tray with foil so you don't have to buy additional trays. Just put new foil in after heavy build-up.

Other than recommending the wrong (and more expensive) cover, I still give amazon high marks for ordering process and availability of product. I hope this review helps with your grill search.

It's a Weber, so it's got to be good!
I got tired of buying a low-end grill and having to replace it or half the parts every couple of years. This time I decided to do it right and my research ended with the Genesis Gold B. I chose the Gold B because it offered all the features I wanted and none that I didn't want. I've had grills with a side burner and I never used it. There is an identical model to this one that does offer the side burner, if that is something you require. This grill is excellent! Heavy construction, easy to put together and just a great product all around. They advertise that it only takes ten minutes to put together and they are about right. It took me about 15-20 minutes and that includes interruptions from the kids! The grill fired up immediately and seemed to reach the surface temp of the sun in a matter of seconds! Everything cooks quickly and evenly.

Weber and Amazon even get the shipping part right. The box was very well packed and arrived without so much as a scratch. I even got it several days before I expected to! Just be careful not to get the grill cover that is suggested here at Amazon. The one offered for this grill is not the correct one as stated in one of the other reviews. The 9859 is the correct cover.

This is probably the best grill you can get for the price before you get into the custom, built-in models. Some grill experts may disagree, but for an every-day, average, don't-live-at-the-country-club kind of guy, this grill is the best!

Great Barbeque and a good value
After doing extensive research and reading many reviews, I purchased the Weber Genesis Gold B Stainless last year. It hurt to pay over $500 for a grill, but no regrets here. It was a great buy and I am still very pleased with it. The last three Char-Broil grills I have owned each rusted away within two years. Over a six year period I spent $700 on Char-Broils, and still cooked on a mediocre grill. The Weber cooks great, will last much longer than six years, and costs less than buying a new grill every two years. The Weber has been in ocean air for almost a year and doesn't have a spot of rust yet.

The construction is very solid; stainless steel throughout including the grill surface. It looks fantastic and gets a few "wow's" from the neighbors. The three burners allow for excellent control. Thick meats or chicken can be cooked over the center burner on low or off, while the front and back burners provide indirect heat. The results are best I have seen for any barbeque under $1,000.

At this price, you do get some nice features. The propane tank hangs easily from the side and the gauge provides accurate readings. The lid handle is well insulated and is barely warm even when the grill is over 500 degrees. The burners have excellent power and pre-heating can be done in 3-5 minutes. If you cook a lot on low heat, the grease does build up. Ten minutes on high heat takes care of the problem, though.

Overall, this is the best Barbeque I have owned. It cooks like a dream, cleans up well, looks great and will last a long time.

Great Grill
I bought my Weber Silver Summit A this fall and love it - big cooking surface, lights easily and gets very hot. I even like the built in tool holders on the side. After using it several days a week for 3 months, it reliably achieves and maintains temperature, even on cold Ohio nights. The other thing that has impressed me is how much heat it generates - you can sear a steak on this grill better than any other gas grill I have owned. It is also big enough to cook a lot of food indirectly.

WEBER SAYS IT ALL!!
I purchased a Weber Summit Silver A Gas Grill to replace a 5 year old Kenmore Gas Grill. Let me tell you, I wish I'd bought a Weber Grill back then. This grill keeps its temperature very well. It cooks evenly and the juices from the food seem to stay in the food better. It is easy to assamble and the instructions are very easy to read. I reccomend this grill to anyone.

Big improvement
I replaced my old Weber Genesis(damaged in a tornado) with this new summit Silver A and its a big improvement. It get a lot hotter than the Genesis and the 4 burners cover the entire grilling surface. Took about 1hr to put together and I am very happy and would recommend this grill to anyone.

Set up info for this great produce
I ordered this Weber grill. It took about 2 weeks for free delivery. I wanted to have everything in place to quickly hook up the grill to the natural gas line when it arrived, but I could not find anywhere on the internet what fittings were needed to hook this grill up. The only information out there from one post turned out to be incorrect in noting that "a 1/2 pipe fitting" is needed.

So now, in order that everyone else will be prepared and have the information needed on this grill, IT TAKES A 3/8 INCH PIPE FITTING which hooks directly to the quick disconnect hose. For those not experienced in pipe fittings, this is a regular pipe fitting, and not a flared or compression fitting.

Wish I had known this when my arrived, but hopefully this will save everyone else a trip to Home Depot on the day the grill arrives.

Continued good grilling on this great product from Weber.

Weber & Amazon: class acts
I toyed with the idea of getting a highly rated Jenn-Air grill after reviewing a Consumer Reports article. Having owned a previous Weber for more than a decade (it was great), and having read the above Amazon reviews, I decided to go with the Weber, however. The Gold C is not a grill, it's an achievement. Quality construction, tremendous performance, even good to look at. Construction was easy (I wish the instructions used more words and fewer pictures, though).Their enclosed cook book has some terrific looking recipes; I already own their hardcover cookbook, and it's filled with awesome dishes. There were some parts for the grill that weren't quite right, and Weber has replaced them without question or hassle; indeed, customer service even apologized! Their newsletter also has some excellent cooking tips. Amazon's price is incredible, ordering was easy, delivery was on time, and the price can't be beat. If you're looking for a grill, look no further. Buy this one, and get it from Amazon.

outstanding grill
Bought this grill from Amazon, saved $150 over all the local home centers.

My friends call me a serious cook/foodie.
I was not about to be sucked into the name-hype of weber.
However after 2 months of using this grill, I'm sold.

The grill is very solid. Stainless makes cleaning easy
and the grill keeps it shine.

The no-flare system allows very flexible cooking methods.
You can bake indirect by placing food over off-burners or
using the hanging basket. Grilled food turns out perfect,
not dried out or burnt. Baked items like potatoes/corn/
squash turn out great. Even greasy lamb doesn't flare and
burn. I've had very consistent results for meals like
ribs for 35 people, a rib roast, and the normal BBQ fare.

The side burner is relatively underpowered, but is fine
for saute or boiling water. (similar to camping stove).
The main BBQ burners heat FAST. 5 minutes for 600+ degrees.

The drip pan, and "funnel" where everything drips down
slides out, and the carbonized stuff brushes right out
like flakes. excellent design.

Assembly was cake and quick. Box was very well packed.

The only possible gripe is that the area where the control
dials are could have been used for "counter space" instead.

get this grill from amazon, you won't regret it.

Outstanding Quality and Excellent Performance
Right out of the box, I could see the Gold C series grill was the right choice. To start with, Weber packaging is the very best I have seen, everything is padded and secured in the utmost care. Make sure you have another person to help remove this out of the box...it is large and heavy(this is a good thing).

The stainless steel is of the highest quality and looks great! The grill was a breeze to put together (8 bolts altogether, they even include the wrench)

Now for the best part...cooking! No lava rocks needed here, this baby is stainless steel all around: burners, flavorizer bars and grates are all stainless! My first cooking expedition... a modest ribeye, but the Weber showed it's colors! The sear marks were awesome and the steak was done to perfection.
The burners on this remind me of a top of the line Viking stove(nice even blue flames), they run the full length of the grill and each(3) are controlled separately.

I looked at this grill at [a local retailer], but Amazon.com was lower in price....
If you like to grill and want something to last, check out this Weber...they have an excellent warranty to ensure your investment.

----5 month Update------
I have had this grill for five months now, are you wondering how I feel about the grill after using it at least 3-5 times a week? Well, I must tell you...this is the BEST grill for the money! The stainless still looks brand new and it cooks better than any grill I have ever used or seen.

I have cooked: filet mignons, porterhouses, t-bones, strips, ribeyes, chicken, vegetables...the list goes on; and every time it shines through. Excellent heating, this machines get seriously hot in minutes and can maintain: high, medium and low heat evenly.

If you're looking for a grill that really does deliver in this price range...this is it!

I expect this grill to last for many years; take a second and break the cost of this grill out over 7-10 years. What a great bargain...excellent food and reliabilty.

Well worth the money, Outback quality steaks everytime.
I've always believed that you get what you pay for.So when my Thermos (Char-Broil) grill was on it's last legs it was either replace everything or get a new one.

When I bought the Thermos grill, I was new to grilling and it was all I could afford at the time. Had I known then, what I know now, I never would've wasted my money. The Lava Rocks only lasted one season, clean up was a very dirty, time-consuming experience, and it showed signs of rust 6 months after I bought it. I kept the grill in an enclosed garage, not outside, and it started rusting that quick??

I started researching new grills on the net. I read many customer reviews here, at epinions.com, and at the Consumer reports website. I compared several different models, and makes, of grills. For the money, the ease of use, and warranty, the grill that always came out on top was the Weber Genesis Gold. After reading a few reviews about shipping, and assembly, I decided to purchase one from a local retailer.

I've had the grill for a week now and I love it. Although it does burn hot, the manufacturer said that this is normal during the "break-in" period. I've compensated by turning all three burners to the lowest "High" setting.

I cannot believe how different the steaks taste and a big part is due to Weber's "Flavorizer Bars." I'm talking restaurant quality steaks everytime. I cannot believe the difference between my old grill and The Genesis Gold. This grill will pay for itself because we'll be cooking at home more often instead of going out to eat.

Other neat features include: Larger grill grates which make it harder for food, and debris, to fall into the burners. A sturdy side burner that is very similar to an indoor stove burner, Two fold up working surfaces which give the cook more room to work. A thermometer in the hood that is removable and doubles as a meat thermometer. Three burners that allow for direct, and indirect, cooking; And a gas guage so you always know how much propane is left in the bottle. No more running out of fuel while cooking, you always know how much gas you have left in the bottle.

I only have two minor complaints. First of all, the Manufacturer, and the local retailer we bought it from, both say very easy assembly. The retailer assembled my grill for me and I'm glad they did. It took the man 30 minutes to put it together and he knew exactly what he was doing. It probably would've taken me a good 2.5 hours.

Secondly, I like to use wood chips, in a smoking box, while I grill. Weber makes a smoker box, that replaces one of the grates, but it is rather pricey. In addition, I've gone to all the local retailers, and checked Amazon, no one stocks this part.

All-in-all, The Weber Genesis Gold C is well worth the money! If you have the means, I highly suggest picking one up!! You'll probably never want to eat out again!

Great BBQ
I started putting together what my wife called "Your new toy" at 6:00 PM and dinner was ready at 7:00 PM. Only needed a second body with one step. The thing went together quick, easy, and is very secure. I have used it several times this week and love it. There is excellent heat control and I have not had a flare up yet. I have done a roast, chicken, hot dogs, steak, and misc. veg's so far. I replaced on older 2 burner Weber with this one and the control and even finished product taste with this unit is amazing. After the roast the comment was made at my house that if we knew a better BBQ would make dinner taste that much better we would have purchased it years ago. The heat control makes is very easy to cook food without drying it out. You can't go wrong with any 3+ burner Weber but after using this one I would highly recomend it. Stay away from the cheaper 2 burner non-stainless model. With that BBQ you pay for the name not the product. My Dad has the non-stainless version of this BBQ and it also works great but because of clean up and appearance this one is my favorite.

Weber Genesis Silver A (Premium)
I purchased the Premium Genesis Silver A: stainless steel cooking grates and flavorizer bars, a flip-up shelf under the fixed one, and a mica coating (the porcelain enamel has an extra layer, hard to describe). ...

The grill is very well made and lights really quickly. I was initially concerned about the 22,000 BTUs, but I think they are just right on this grill. The grill takes about 8 minutes to reach cooking temperature (500-550). Thus it is efficient.

I would recommend this grill for a family of 2-4. My cousin uses hers to cook for 10 or so. The grilling space is big enough. Having more space under the hood means more gas per use to heat it. Okay, I don't plan to cook a whole turkey, but I could easily cook at least two chickens. ....

A great grill and customer service is 24/7 and very helpful. I love my grill!

Outstanding Grill. Excellent Value
I completed a thorough research of gas grills before I purchased a Weber Genesis Silver A Gas Grill, and I feel very confident that I made the right decision. Both the Genesis Silver A and B grills are outstanding. Which one you choose depends on your needs.

The Silver B is probably the better (but more expensive) choice for most people. But the Silver A is the best economy priced model on the market and perfect for anyone who does not need a lot of extra grill space. I bought the A model, so that tells you something.

Both the A and B earned the distinguished "Best Buy" rating from Consumer Reports. And both were graded for overall satisfaction with other brands that cost more money. The Weber Genesis grills are the cheapest grills for their level of quality and a good buy. (The top rated model was the $2,200 Weber Summit). They could easily sell for $100-$300 more than they do.

The Weber Genesis Silver grills are built to last a very long time. They have solid frames, stainless steel burners, porcelain-coated lids, etc. My grill looks like it will last 20 years. They come with an unusually long warranty. On the other hand, some of the cheaper other brands will rust out in a couple years and cook unevenly. The Webers are worth the extra money.

The Weber "flavorizer bars" are the secret to even, tasty grilling. They cook well.

My model has cast iron grates, which I prefer for better searing. But the porcelain-coated grates are easier to clean.

For most people the Genesis Silver B is the safer purchase, because it's larger. And you get more grilling and shelf space. You never know if you will need the extra space over the next ten years. Get the B if you expect to host parties and family gatherings, or if you have a large family.

The Genesis Silver A is better if you are looking for a more affordable grill. It really is a great value. You would be much better off with the Silver A than some of the other cheapo brands.

I bought the Weber Genesis Silver A because my small family does not need the extra space of the Silver B. We do gourmet cooking for ourselves, not a big party. It still looks big to me.

The Weber Genesis Silver grills are the best for taste and value in the long run

The best!
The best investment into BBQ cooking you can make. These grills last forever, on the rare ocation something fails it is easy to get replacement parts. These grills outlast the cheap ones by at least 5 fold. If you do the math, 5 x $200 ($1000), you can see what the real worth of this grill is. Oh, excellent cooking too. You can not go wrong. I bought mine 2 years ago and do not anticipate buting another grill for 20 years.

Silver c
Have had the Silver C for a week now. Comes in a big box that takes up an entire pallet. Assembly was very simple, amazing how little hardware was needed. All tools necessary come with the grill.

Construction is awesome, no sharp edges, everything fit together very well.

First time I ignited a burner, I could barely tell it was lit. The burners are pretty much hidden from sight. Grill gets to 500+ degrees pretty darn quick. I cooked a couple of 1"-1.5" thick steaks last night in about 8 minutes. They may have even been over cooked for my taste, they came out about medium. Nice grill marks on the steak with no char.

Smoker option may have been a waste? Cooked some chicken thighs for about 1.5 hours using Oak chips, didn't really get any smoke flavor? I'll try again.

Overall, a really nice grill. Expensive, but I really think the overall quality makes up for the price.

Great grill well made
I think this is a great grill, well worth the money. The smoker worked very well and with hickory chips it adds great flavor to anything you grill. It goes together easy and is well made.

Great Grill
I'm deducting a point because I wasn't aware the grilling surface would be smaller to accommodate the smoker box. Other than that it's great.
1. Easy assembly (1.5 hours in the dark)
2. 600 degrees in ~15 minuets
3. Plenty of work surfaces
No problems after the first season
And hey, it's a Weber...

For Kettles Only!
This tool holder is specifically designed for KETTLE grills. The only mention of this limitation is hidden in the Editorial Review, which I missed. The item costs $3.99. To return the item to Amazon by US Mail is $4.99. Don't make the same mistake that I did!

catchy
Very handy due to the lack of horizontal space on the grill to put something down. However, it does not stay put very well.

One other thing. The tool holder makes it difficult to slip the rain cover on and off. Something to consider if you plan to use the cover often.

Nice idea, flawed execution
This tool hanger tends to fall off the side of the kettle with the slightest bump and also prevents the lid from sealing tightly.

Nice product, bad price
I got this set a year or two ago on sale at Home Depot for a clearance price of $5. Mostly, I use the tongs because they do the work of tongs and spatula thanks to the unique mini spatula shapes. The big spatula is fine, and the fork, but the tongs are most useful, so I usually skip the other two. It's a great value at a $5 price, but there's no way I'd pay $35, especially since I use mostly one tool. If I paid that much, I'd want some extras like basting brushes or a grill rack for vegetables or fish. Shop around.

Not what I expected, or worth the price
While Weber is a trustworthy name in grilling, I would definitely not recommend this tool set. The set appears to be very cheaply made - the handles are entirely wood, unsupported by any stainless steel in the actual handle. The stainless steel working end did not appear to be heavy duty, and where it connects to the wooden handle will be very difficult to clean. There definitely are significantly better tools on the market for a much better price. I gave this as a gift to my husband and was very dissapointed in the quality.
