I lived for 25 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, and all I have to say is that heavy leather gloves have a different connotation up there. These don't make much of a style statement in that regard, but then these are a lot less money, too. So maybe they're best for cooking, after all. But I think Eastman is missing out on the most profitable and style-conscious part of the market.

These are great gloves.... you will want to wear them all over the house..

I bought these gloves with the intention of using them for arranging my charcoal before lighting the grill, but I got so much more. They are extra long so they protect your arm/sleeve from charcoal stains and they can withstand pretty much heat. I like to light the charcoal and then put my grid on while the fire is going. Now I don't worry about getting burned! Kids, don't try this without an adult present. I recommend these for anyone who loves to grill.

Package arrived in horrible condition, all tore up. Refused shipment.

The revolution burner broke during assembly very easily. I thought this product was made for the outdoors. I e-mailed the company and asked for a replacement before thanksgiving and they told me that would not be possible but they will send me a replacement. I had to purchase another burner assembly for thanksgiving and still have not recieved a replacement part 45 days later. I will not purchase anything from this company again!!

My unit arrived intact in its own box inside a shipping carton, so Amazon.com has addressed the shipping problem.

The pot works great and the turkey is fabulous. I can't wait to try it on other foods.

My issues only concern assembly and there are two: First, the supplied wrench is soft and stripped itself after about 4 bolts. This is only an issue because all of the bolts included are metric, and most people in the US don't have metric wrenches, I used my metric sockets which did work fine. An adjustable wrench would also have worked. Second, one of the bolts that holds the burner to the leg snapped 12 hours after assembly. I had to drill the bolt out and find a replacement.

Despite all of that, it is a great pot and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about deep frying turkey.

Congratulations to those who wrote to say this product worked two or three times for them. It worked once for me. At $30, this might be the worst purchase I have ever made.

This unit comes with only 3 filters. Now I know why, it is such a piece of junk that you will never get it to work 3 times for you. I bought it new, it worked the fist time, and although it did the job I wasn't very impressed with its performance, the second time I used it, it stopped working half way through the job for no apparent reason, new batteries and an hour of messing around with it could not bring it back to life, it was dead! Thats alot of money for an item that doesn't last through draining my turkey fryer more than once! It now is stored in its proper container where it belongs and will stay forever (my garbage can).

After pumpimg less than three pots of oil the pump stopped running. I discovered one of the commutator contacts burnt up and the other close to failure. A total of about 30 mintes of run time before failure. Not very durable !!
