I bought one of these off a competing web site last year and paid [money] for it, however, I am very happy with its performance regardless of what I had to pay. I did have problems with it to begin with but then I broke down and read the instructions and learned, for example, that the unit turns its self off when on automatic mode and it gets below 55 degrees and you have to replace the Octenol tables once a month. Now that I have it set up correctly it draws Mosquitoes away from my deck kills them. It kills lots and lots of Mosquitoes, I didn't know I had that many Mosquitoes. I don't understand why people are having problems with their PowerTrap, but my guess is that they don't have it set up correctly.

This device is advertised as a killer of light attracted insects. MOSQUITOES ARE NOT ATTRACTED TO LIGHT. DEER FLIES ARE NOT ATTRACTED TO LIGHT.

If you want to buy something that works, get one of the CO2 generating devices.

I LOVE THE BUG ZAPPER, I HAD IT ON THE BACK DECK, BUT IT WAS TOO LOUD FOR THE DOG, SO I PUT IT AT THE FRONT PORCH AND USED THE LURE PACK AND HAVE NOT HAD PROBLEMS WITH INSECTS AT THE BACK DECK, TO MY SURPRISE, THE LIGHT ATTRACTS INSECTS FROM THE BACK DECK TO THE FRONT PORCH, I LOVE IT! I HAVE AN ACRE OF LAND, SO I VERY MUCH ENJOY THE VIEW AT NIGHT, NOW WITHOUT THE BUGS, BUGGING ME! I WOULD VERY MUCH RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT, BUT YOU MUST INSTALL IT AWAY FROM WHERE YOU ARE SITTING, WHICH MAKES SENSE BECAUSE OF THE "ZAPPING" NOISE.

Here in Houston we have had a particularly difficult time with mosquitos this year (due to heavy rainfall). I almost felt like we were held "hostage" inside our house, since going outdoors meant a barrage of mosquitos! But thanks to the Flowtron bug killer which we now have on our back patio, we can enjoy the out-of-doors again! We purchased the 80-watt model, even though our yard is only 1/3 acre. It has been very effective in eliminating our mosquito problem. One word of caution: the zapping noise generated by the Flowtron really bothers our Golden Retriever. He has even tried to escape from the back yard! We're hoping he eventually becomes accustomed to it. Just keep this in mind if you have pets ............

Don't let the size of the box fool you. Even though this item comes packaged in a good-sized box, this product is barely one inch by two inches. It's just a small piece of plastic with some type of pheromone embedded in it. Although it does seem to attract flies for a few days, it doesn't seem to last for very long at all. It's just a tiny piece of flimsy plastic! In my opinion, it's just not worth it.

On my porch in my backyard, there used to be tons of annoying insects flying around, because we live very near to a pond and we have woods. Ever since I got this terrific product, I have been bug free for almost 3 months now!I can go back to having bar-b-ques again! This is the most amazing product ever created!

I received my Power Trap about a month ago and it works great. It was easy to put together and I have had it running for a month with out any problems. I didn't buy the accessory kit to begin with but ended up wanting it and purchasing it. I'd recommend getting it from the start. I have seen the more expensive models but didn't want to spend the thousand dollars they are priced at. I knew if they worked that someone would come up with a reasonably priced version. This model really works I set it up in April thinking nothing would really happen because it was too early in the season but I check a couple of days later and there were quite a few dead bugs in the trap and I haven't seen any flying around in my back yard. It is now early May and I still don't have a bug problem in my back yard.

I've only used my Flowtron MT-150 Mosquito PowerTrap for a week and I have already killed about 5,000 mosquitos on our cottage lot in South-East Manitoba, Canada.

The PowerTrap worked 100% from the get-go. I also bought a 20lb propane tank and 3 ft BBQ replacement hose. No mechanical or electrical problems. Unit set at "Always On" all week but like the instruction book says the "3 hr & 2 hr" setting would likely do the job. Not many mosquitos caught during the day but once the sun does down - look out!

For the first 4 days I painfully counted the captured mosquitos myself. Days 5 and 6 are estimated counts. (Mosquitos in the collection tray were treated to a sniff of Raid just prior to dumping them on a piece of newspaper. They are much easier to count when dead.)

Wish I had purchased this unit weeks ago.

This is amazing I check the trap twice a day! The thing is capturing Mosquitos like there is no tomorrow! My kids can go out into the yard without having to put Off on and when we usually have to come in at dusk its not bad at all and we have a stream on our property. Thanks to the folks at Flowtron for letting me use my yard again!
