Beautiful and fits in my toaster oven
I mostly use this small-ish dish to serve candies or dip, but I also once put some chicken tenderloins in it to thaw, and was delighted to find that the dish fit into my toaster oven. Thus, I did not have to dirty another dish or turn on my big regular oven.

Once I made that discovery, I have been happily making single-serving dishes for myself to bake in my little toaster oven. Because it's not a metal pan (and so pretty,) I then eat right out of it. Lovely and easy, and it minimalizes cleanup.

I highly recommend for singles or people who often eat by themselves. However, it is such a nice dip-dish, that I would be giving it the full 5 stars even if I didn't use it in the toaster.

Fun with compartments!
I rec'd this as a gift, and while green is not my first choice kitchen/serving color, I know it is for many people. Besides, it reminds me of holidays so I decided I love it. It looks very appealing in an earthy natural kind of way.

I used it a lot this summer keeping grilled items warm in the oven while the 2nd batch was still outside, the compartments made it perfect for serving. I serve candies, grilled stuff, sauce and rice, and a myriad of tasty treats and appetizers in it. I plan to get a lot more use out of it this holiday season, and definitely recommend it! Ritz crackers and wheat thins even look fancier when in their own sections of this dish. It is quite versitale.

I also think the price is quite reasonable for the solid hand-crafted-looking-ness of this item, and am considering getting more baking dishes from this line (in other colors) for myself and as gifts.

Nice looking dish
I needed a smaller casserole dish than my Pyrex, and this seemed to fit the bill. I put it in my cart and found it was out of stock. So I checked often to see when it ould be available. It was priced so nicely and looked so pretty, I was very excited when they became available. So I bought 2. Sometimes when I entertain, I have the need for 2 dishes and happily thought I would have a matching set. Was also happy that the gold color I bought would match my Pfaltzgraff Naturewood dinnerware pattern so well, the gold would bring out the colors so vividly. Well, I got the package and only one survived. The one that did not live through he trip looked like its box had been used in a Samsonite commercial and the gorila had fun turning it into a rattle. They had not used much cushoining for protection and there was lots of room in the box it was in to bump around and hit each other. I hoped maybe just the lid was broken into a couple pieces I could glue together, no such luck. I have never had a problem with replacing what was broken in transit, I am upset because I now wonder when I will get my replacement. I do like the sole survivor of the 2 I bought. It does go well with my dinnerware and also with a bigger casserole dish I have had for a few years. It works well, and cleans up well.

My advice that is not conected to this dish, when you are next at the grocers, by some Dawn Power Srub. It is the best stuff for cleaning casserole dishes, which I used to hate to do and for cleaning pots and skillets, even burned on food. Spray it on, let it set for 15 or 20 minutes and pretty much just use a sponge to wipe out the mess.

Solid dish, looks great
If you are looking to buy a round, 2-quart casserole, this is it. Mine was pretty inexpensive (although it looks as though the price has increased), and I use it a fair amount. It is nice and heavy, and gives good even heating, so nothing burns. Baked macaroni and cheese comes out great using this casserole.

I bought the blue one, and the dish looks good even at the serving table. It's pretty easy to clean, too. Recommended!

beware the size....
... this is not a 14" baker in the sense that measurements are commonly used when talking about cookware. It's inner dimensions are much smaller.

much smaller than advertised
I am very disappointed by this dish. Although the dish is very attractive, the advertised size is a substantial overestimate of the actual baking area - as pointed out by an earlier reviewer. The length of the dish's package measured exactly 14 inches, handle tip to handle tip is about 13.5 inches, and the baking length is roughly 10 inches. If you want a 14 inch baker - choose another product!

I use this pan every day!
This pan does it all... bakes lasagne, small roasts, casseroles, potatos, vegetables, desserts, cakes... and it is so beautiful, you can take it from the oven right to the table. Real heavy and hand-crafted look to it. The heat disperses evenly, and everything comes out perfectly done. I didn't have the same problems as the first reviewer did with size... mine is definitely 14" long from tip to tip (not including handles), and the actual baking area inside is 8X12. I have had such great results with this pan, I am going to collect all of Sabatier's stoneware.

Useless
Used this once in a 375 degree oven to cook a potroast and wound up with a pan in 2 pieces. It split completely in half! I would not buy another Sabatier stoneware item.

Disappointed with Quality
Like the reviewer from Sunnyvale, my Sabatier oblong baker has cracked. I used it once in a 350 degree oven (going into the oven from room temperature, no large stress for a ceramic baker); the baker emerged intact but with a deep diagonal crack across the center and small cracks spiderwebbing throughout the glaze. It is lovely, but absurdly fragile. I also purchased the covered casserole, but am now afraid to use it for anything other than serving. Stick with Le Creuset or Apilco, much more durable and a better investment for the money.

Disappointed!!
I bought two of these, one somewhat smaller--and a perfect size, and this one. They were beautiful and a joy, but they have both cracked. One when I opened the oven door while baking stuffed shells, (cracked diagonally across one corner) and the other when basting a chicken I was roasting with hot broth, (cracked smack in half). At neither time were they subject to quick temperature changes, temperatures above 350 degrees, knocks, heavy weight, etc. A waste of money! I also bought the covered, round baker and have used it many times with no problems. perhaps it's a problem with the square shape.

junk worthless
the steak knives are butter knives and the carving knife is as sharp as a brick: pure junk I have thrown it all in the trash!

Don't bother.
I bought this Sabatier product because it had not been rated. After reviewing many of the other poor Sabatier product ratings that were also made in China, I gave this product the benefit of the doubt and just purchased it. The carving knife is absolutley dull. It has no sharpness. I ran it down my finger to assess its sharpness, but it did nothing. I highly doubt it would be able to cut your meat either. The steak knives on the other hand are a bit better. Although there are some ridges on these knives, they still don't seem sharp. They are rather rough than sharp. I actually haven't tried this set. This rating is based on what I can see and feel. I am going to return this product immediately. I do not plan on wasting my[money]. Have a good day!

Very good buy for what you get!
I bought this set first because it was so cheap compared to what I saw at the store, and I just wanted a starter set for my new apartment. They are actually really cool looking...modern stainless still look going on. They are not high end fancy knives but for the money I really like mine. They look cool and expensive when I pull them out for dinner!
