Steak Knives Reviews

I bought these for less than they sell for now: gold box value. They are a great value at six dollars. Less so now. The serrations are somewhat coarse for my taste, but the knives are good quality. The wood block is not made to fit the knives very well.

I ordered this set of knives just to reach the free shipping limit, and I wasn't sure what to expect.

Well, they are pretty good quality, feel good in your hand, and work really well for cutting.

The knives are great. Watch out, though. They are packaged in a set of four, but, I think they were sold as singles. Each knife has a SKU super-glued on the blade. I can attest to the sharpness as I just cut myself. I'm sure the occasional T-bone will be no problem.

Not a bad value. An inordinate amount of meat seems to cling to them even after a good rinse. They come out of the dishwasher clean, but I don't like picking at the meat when dessert is on the way. I would buy them again, tho.

FYI--The knives have walnut colored handles, not black like the item description.

This set of four Sabatier Precision steak knives fits in the same knife block that is included in the 7-piece set of Sabatier Precision knives. These knives are serrated, and while you could sharpen them with a special sharpener, you probably won't need to do so if you wash them by hand and don't leave them soaking in water. These knives have full tang construction so they are quite good. Since steak knives are used at table for the most part, one does not have to be concerned so much about their heft and feel in the hand.

Steak knives are a kitchen essential, and this set is a great buy.

I purchased these knives right before Easter because they were attractive, but I was disappinted when they arrived. They are serrated only at the tip of the blade, and I had a hard time cutting through the Easter Ham with them. They have a nice weight, but as a steak knife are only slightly more effective than my butter knives. Purchase something else with real teeth if you're planning to need a steak utensil.

These knives are certainly a joy to hold in your hand. I've had these for about 6 months and the beautiful stainless steel has not shown any hint of rusting or discoloring. They are also quite heavy and don't have that "metal-colored plastic" feel to them.

But... they don't cut at all! In fact, they didn't cut the first time, and they didn't cut any times after that. I didn't return them because I was completely infatuated by their look, but I wish I would have - there are plenty of other steak knives out there that have a similar look. I'm investigating ways to sharpen them, but for now they are only good for spreading butter and jelly (and breaking eggs, because they are quite heavy).

I love the knives, but as I'd just spent a lot of money for the Provence block set of kitchen knives, I should have saved a little longer and gone for the matching set. Don't get me wrong. The knives are great. They just don't match as they should. I love the Sabatier Provence set, and I am currently saving some extra cash to upgrade the knives to a set of Provence steak-knives. The others will still be there for normal day to day use, but that Provence set....... There is no beating it in the long run. The most bang for your buck !!! However, for everyday use and durability, I do believe that these knives are a very wise investment which will last for many years to come.

These rip a steak apart rather than cut. If I'm ever in need of a saw I can always use these

Need extra steak knives? You can't go wrong with these. I was surprised at the weight and feel of these functional steak knives. At this price I expected them to be much lighter. As for function (that is what we buy them for!) these knives are sharp and sturdy, and cut through steak easily. At this price I suggest you buy extras before they run out.

Wonderful steak knives. Love the serrated edge that stays sharp, the beautiful handles, and they do well in the dishwasher. Can't find these anymore (for the price of $6.99 per 4-pc that I originally paid). My friends (Chef & his wife) wished they could have "found" this buy.

unlike the set from last year that was great!!... these have a cheap feel and a thiner and bendable blade they do not even carry the Laguiole name on the blade now. not worth the money. came in a broken box that was pieces of two or three others that would not fit together. a pure waste

I found the steak knives to be a very poor example of Laguiole.
The price ... was very fair, and did not expect the quality to match knives from the Laguiole region much more expensive. But these were very light weight, and the blades of
