Great steak knives, not overly heavy, well balanced, edge is not serated which makes it easily sharpened. Wood handles a nice touch. Only pain was that the knives come with a sticker warning to hand wash, and I nicked myself while trying to remove the sticker from the blade. Good value for the money, especially when purchased in the set

I bought TWO sets for my block at home...An absolute must to accompany the 10 piece set...buy two sets for a partay!!!

I have been looking for a great steak knife for a long time, obviously I wanted a full tang and bolster; but also wanted something that would look nice, even at a fancy table setting. These steak knives more than met my expectations. They feel substantial in your hand and are very well made (unlike for example, the Sabatier Laguoile steak knives, which look cheap and mass-produced). Also, I recently learned that a good steak knife should NOT be serrated, and this set is one of few that meet that criteria. I highly recommend this set for its beauty and functionality.

These knives blend fine cutlery with elegant beauty. A joy to look at on the table, and a fine cutting edge on the blade. These knives feel solid and comfortable. The rosewood handle is very well fitted to the full-tang stainless blades. Most steak knives look out-of-place on the dinner table. These look great. They softly say: "Quality." Well worth the money.

Contrary to the other reviews of these steak knives, I don't like them. The serrations are too deep, and the handles are so fat they don't fit easily into a drawer with my other knives.

They'll be difficult to sharpen later.

These knives may have "ergonomic" handles, but they look really strange in a place setting. I do not like the handles, and I think they are too big compared with the blade. The blade is serrated. It works like most other serrated steak knives. Another reviewer mentioned that the fat handles do not fit easily into the drawer, and this is true. The blades will get spots if put into the dishwasher. Not bad for the price, but not something that looks good on the dinner table.

I was happily surprised to discover that for once I got much more than I paid for. They cut the through thick and thin with ease and, as a side benefit, they are great at cutting rolls and baguettes. After I got my initial set, I returned and got 6 sets for Christmas presents (plus another for me). The handy wooden tray is an added bonus and is also of good quality.

These are described as stainless steel, but they rusted dramatically after being washed once. They are so badly stained at this point, that we don't even use them. The only useful part of this product is the wooden storage tray, if you have other knives that will fit.

Just received the set of knives I ordered. The product description is misleading. There are not made in France but rather in China. Also, 2 of the knives came bent.

Not the best packaging...clear & rather thin plastic "box" with an extended top portion to allow for "hanging" in stores on those peg hook thingies. The knives are displayed in a wooden holder(appears to be pine?) and are exactly as pictured above. The weight is nice and I'd rate them as medium to high-end steak knives, despite other reviews I've read.(Weight of knives in the wood holder is over 2 1/2 pounds.) The knives were not damaged in any way, nor did they show any scuffs or dirt... and am NOT disappointed... At a buck a piece, ya just can't go wrong. Other reviews were correct regarding the "made in China". Dunno how Amazon got the info as "forged in France", unless maybe they're forged in France and finished in China?(heh heh) At any rate folks, this is a great bargain. Set 'em back as gifts for one of those weddings you're gonna get invited to. I'm using one set and giving the other as a gift. Yup...these really are nice enough to be a thoughtful and useful li'l gift.(if ya don't like the packaging...place the wood tray in a nice silver, stainless, or wooden box/basket)... I rated these as 4-stars due to their quality and their giveaway price. Definitely not a 5-star due to the plastic packaging.
