I got tired of the ten dollar monthly rental fee per cooler, so I decided to buy my own. This Addico cooler is pretty slick looking, though it is definitely larger than the one it replaces. The water bottle itself is covered by a slide off hood, which makes it look even better (I hate looking at those scratched up bottles!). Now for what I don't like:
1) A spring-loaded pouring mechanism has to be inserted into each bottle before mounting it (and that requires completely removing the plastic seal from the bottle, not just removing the outer foil),
2) The fact that the hood makes it impossible to know when your bottle is getting near empty (a simple clear strip down the hood would have solved that),
3) The cheap feel of the dispensing mechanism and the fact that the labels are not securely glued in place, which perhaps belies some overall inattention to Q.C.
Lastly, it ain't cheap, considering it is only a hunk of plastic & a very tiny refrigerator.

I'm happy with the Milano cooler I bought off Amazon (the free shipping was especially nice)! The cooler is attractive, yet a couple things I'll comment on: I thought when I bought it that it would have a hot water dispenser as well...Also, the picture looks like the silver parts on the cooler are metal, but in fact they are stickers...All in all, though, the cooler does look nice and does it's job just fine.

I purchased this water cooler to replace one that I had rented from Poland Springs for seven years. This water cooler functions well. Hot water is hot enough to make tea or other hot drinks and the cold water is fairly cold. The problem is that the reservoir for the cold water is made of soft plastic and it makes the Poland Springs water that I pay dearly for taste like plastic. My previous rented water cooler had a stainless steel reservoir which did not affect the taste of the water. There is a stainless steel reservoir for the hot water, so it isn't as badly affected. The company assures me that the taste will "go away eventually," but after several months, I'm not holding my breath. If I had it to do over again, I would definitely shop around for a water cooler that had ALL stainless steel reservoirs.

My last water cooler cost more to run annually than the total purchase price of the Addico Milano! Elegantly styled, this cooler would look great anywhere in your home. Definitely worth every penny!

This is definitely the ideal water cooler to have and I would recommend it to anyone looking for one. Stylish and compact, it's great for anyone with limited space and also has a hot-water, child-safety spigot for households with small children. The white version blends into our kitchen color scheme perfectly.

We've been using this system for a couple of months now, and we think it's great. We're drinking alot more water now that it isn't as expensive as delivered water. As Alhambra/Sparkletts users for many years, we were concerned that the taste and quality would suffer with this system. Cold water is wonderful. Room temperature water tastes as good as Arrowhead, but the dramatically reduced costs makes it worth it.

We had purchased this because it is advertised as cool touch cabinet. The problem is that the front panel is metal and gets too hot to touch after just a few minutes. The heat output is good, but not for use around infants, small children or pets who may get burned by the hot metal front.

I use this heater in a 120 sq ft apartment room and it works great w/the door closed. I only need to use it on the 6th setting out of 14 for "light long sleeve" weather. I usually leave it on the floor in it's "vertical" position. It usually takes about 20 minutes for the entire room to heat up. The thermostat control is really nice, so i don't have to touch it once I turn it on. The temperature remains constant.

Pray that you don't receive a defective cooler like mine which leaked and cause water/floor damage. This is a Canandian based company and when I called them to find out who to speak with, they gave me the runaround (eg., would not divulge names...etc.)

Don't buy from them! CAVEAT EMPTOR!

Plus, it's cheaply made. If you look at the back of the unit, the water well is surrounded by styrofoam. Go to Home Depot and buy a GE model for only $130 or order a water cooler from Office Depot or Staples. Free shipping!

January 2002: I have read the other reviews, and frankly I was surprised at the negative comments. I have been using my cooler now for a few months and have had no problems. It looks really, really cool (pun definitely intended). I bought the black. The water in the cold tap is VERY cold (and this in the year-long heat of the Caribbean sun). The water in the cool tap is cool - just as advertised. It takes up surprisingly little space.

I feel sorry for those who may have gotten a defective machine, but mine is working just fine.

Add to all this the convenience of not having all those bottles in the fridge - I DEFINITELY recommend.

One last thing ... you don't get a bottle with it though I think the presentation ...gives you that impression. That bottle shown is apparently to show the customer the non-drip valve cover (which works very well by the way).

December 2002: I wanted to add one more thing ... if the water begins to freeze in your compartment (mine did for some inexplicable reason nine months into use), the thermostat that the extremely brief instructions talk about is that screw that you see on the INSIDE of the grid. It is a little hard to get at, but once you do, it does what it's supposed to do. I STILL love this cooler after 15 months.

March 2004: This Cooler is operating as well as it ever did and it looks as good as it did when I received it. I have never regretted this buy.

I purchased this heater through ... on 12/18. Today just over 30 days I went to plug it in. One of the prongs broke off, so I can no longer plug it in and use it. Also possibly a fire hazard because of this. It looks like the heat broke it off. Not manufactured very well.

This heater is great for quickly warming up a cold bedroom or cold living room. It has fan-forced convection heat(no red-hot glowing elements), and puts out soft warmth. The safety features in this heater work great, and respond in 30 seconds or less if knocked over. However; this heater lacks a thermostat, which means that once you turn it on, you have to remember to turn it off, or it will keep running until it reaches it over-heat limit. Using this heater with a plug in appliance/lamp timer, rated at 1750 watts or better, 1875 watts makes this heater more useful. You can set a plug in, appliance/lamp timer to turn the heater on and off, and that means that you can use this heater when sleeping. For example, you set your timer(which you purchase seperately for about [amt])to turn the heater on at say, midnight, and then off at 1:00 AM. You could also set the timer, which you purchase seperately, to also come on again at 3:00 AM and go off a 4:00 AM. These are times after midnight when the house temp drops down to around 66 degrees in large bedrooms, for instance. I've been using a heater/fan similar to this one for about 2 months, at night, and it is worry free, and keeps you warm, even when the main furnace in your house doesn't come on any moret than twice an hour. The fan-only setting works great for cooling your room, primarily a bedroom in early spring and early fall. Good price, good economical heater, and easy to carry room to room. I do recommend that you buy a multi-program appliance timer with it though, for greatest flexibility in heating.

Overall, I would say that this heater has proved to be a good buy. As a college junior living in a dorm room the size of a walk-in closet, I wanted an affordable heater that would warm up my room fast and cheaply. On a chilly morning, as soon as I get out of bed I switch it on to heat up the room, and by the time I get back from the shower, it's warm and snug. This heater does not have a timer, and I had the unfortunate experience of leaving it on while I passed out to take a nap, only to be woken up by the suffocating heat. This heater is also quite loud, so if you have a noise-sensitive roommate, I would not advise it. The noise bothers me only when I'm trying to watch TV, but since it heats up the room so quickly, the inconvenience is worth it. Compared to all the other noise that goes on in my dorm building, I've gotten rather used to not minding it at all. The price is also a nice factor. The heater itself is very small, lightweight, and easy to travel with (a definite plus factor if you're both a pack rat and a college student like me). It also has a nice fan, another thing to consider when you have a small room that gets stuffy easily during the more warm and humid months.
