All-Clad Round Cake Pan

    THESE PANS TAKE THE CAKE!
At our house nothing beats a homemade cake - not just for special occasions such as birthdays or holidays, but for our all around favorite dessert.

And, nothing beats the All-Clad round cake pan for preparing a perfect double or single layer cake. We've found that the heat distributes evenly so that a vanilla cake, for instance, comes out a golden brown all over. Further, it comes otu easily with no sticking.

Another plus is the fact that the surface is impervious to the use of metal utensils - no scratches or marks. Of course, these pans are dishwasher safe.

This baker thinks All-Clad is best.

    It conducts heat very uniformly
This pan looks very high quality and beautiful. But, beyond it looking I am very satisfied by the way it conducts heat. I am an engineer and ordered it to do scientific experiments so I wanted a pan that can conduct heat evenly. After searching around, I bought this item. Before I use it for my scientific experiments, I had to check to make sure it will indeeed conduct heat evenly. My testing results indicated that this one is very good. The heat at different spots is uniform. I have not used it for baking. But I am thinking about buying one for my home. It is worth the money.

    Nice little saucepan
This sauce pan heats quickly and allows you to heat things using low heat. The advantage is that gravies and such don't burn. Somethings this item can be had for 20 bucks without the lid. If you find such a deal, don't pass it up.

    The Best but Overpriced
I investigated all the mixing bowls at local stores and on-line, and the All Clad ones are the best. 1.) Many other bowls roll the top lip over to increase strength. Unfortunately (as with my old bowls), water and other grime collects or dribbles in the rolled lip. All Clad bolws have an edge that is flat and doesn't do this. They use thicker material for strength. 2.) The All Clad bowls have a handle attached. This is so much better for beating, whisking, etc., since you get a good grip on the bowl. 3.) The All Clad bowls are highly polished which makes them easier to clean, and you could even serve in them since they look nice. 4.) The All Clad bowls have a nice shape. Others are too shallow so stuff slops out when mixing or are too conical not allowing you to mix. These bowls are nicely shaped like a half-circle.

So why only only 4 stars? Look at the price. For the price of one All Clad bowl, you can buy a whole set (or two) of other brands. I plan on giving these to my grandchildren.

The 1-1/2Qt is good for mixing about 1-serving's worth or maybe 2-serving's worth of pancake batter or holding ingredients, but not much else. Finally, it doesn't look like they do, but they do stack/nest just like other bowls despite the handles.

All-Clad Stainless 1-1/2-Quart Mixing Bowl - The Best!
These are the best mixing bowls I have every used! I use at least one or two every day. They have a nice handle so you can get a good grip on it. The polished stainless steel is so beautiful you could definitely use them to serve as well. I find I use the 1.5 quart for mixing sauces or beating eggs and the 3 & 5 quart sizes for cake mixes and fillings. I also have the 7 quart that is a must have for making meatballs. They do not have any rubber on the bottom and I prefer them this way. I think the rubber bottoms are bacteria collectors and shorten the lifetime of the bowl. I have an oxo rubber bottom mixing bowl that I never use, I actually store my hand mixer and attachments in it.
The bases of the All Clad mixing bowls are a good size and there is no danger that anything could tip over, that is unless you tip it over yourself! They are also very, very easy to clean and they nest together perfectly to save space. I am also planning to add the 1-quart size to my collection soon. Top quality and excellent design! Once you use these bowls you will not want to use any others! If you are considering this bowl, check out the 3-bowl set, it is a great value! Highly recommended!

5 stars, but mine was defective
Bought this pot, for I thought it would be ideal for a single. It is. My first pot was defective, in that it was slightly oval, not allowing the lid to fit tight enough. After about four weeks of email with All-clad and receiving a replacement lid , I finally shipped it back (ten bucks out of my pocket), and received a replacement. Perfect.

This pot is great for cooking varying quantities due to the slope, and is great for pouring due to the curved lip.

I've gradually been changing my cooking gear over to All-clad because of the quality. It's definitely like cooking with the cadilac of cookware: Overall 5 star for the whole set I possess.

    Awesome Sauces
We just decided to upgrade our kitchen with the first step being replacement of old and no-longer-anodized aluminum cookware. Our choice: the All-Clad Stainless line without the non-stick coating(s). They are sturdy, beautiful to cook with and to look at (if you're into that kind of thing), and in the end, while we wash by hand most of the time, once in a while we have to throw the pots in the dishwasher when we have other (better) things to do. This way we won't worry about ruining a nice non-stick finish on our hard-working pots!

The 1.5 quart Windsor Pan was the champion of our meal last night - it made me look like a pro when making the gravy for a Sunday roast beef dinner, and I'm sure it will more than do the job on other sauces, too. As other reviewers say, whisking and pouring are much easier than with a standard straight walled sauce pan, and the slanted sides also help to concentrate the flavors as sauces are reduced.

    Perfect Size, Excellent Pan!
Ever wish for the perfect size pan for vegies, soup, sauce or gravy? Are you cooking for one or two, or need a small pan for a side dish? Ever wish you could thoroughly heat clam chowder without scorching it? Wish you could save energy by being able to cook at a lower temperature? Wishing for a pan that takes little room in the cupboard or dishwasher? One that heats from the sides as well as the bottom for even heat distribution without hot spots? A pan that is so substantial and sturdy that it may last a lifetime? If so, this may be the perfect pan for you. I am so pleased with this pan that I bought two, and a six inch lid to go with them. Some people avoid stainless because food might stick, but I have absolutely no problem with this pan. I have a small kitchen and am delighted that this pan actually fits sideways in the dishwasher between rows of posts, and because it is wider than it is tall I can stack several on one shelf. It is 3 ply, with aluminum for superior heat conduction sandwiched between layers of top quality stainless steel. Stainless doesn't react with any foods, and this pan is oven safe up to 500 degrees. I can start cooking in the pan and finish cooking or keep it warm in the oven, even use it to serve from, and store leftovers in the fridge. The double riveted handle can't fall off like a welded handle could, and there are no screws to tighten or lose. If you've ever thrown away a pan because the nonstick was scratched or peeling or the pan was warped, or thrown away food because a warped or thin pan caused it to scorch or because aluminum reacted with and discolored the food or caused it to taste metallic, then you know what a poor value in cookware can do. This pan is top of the line at a great price. Over half a century I have used many brands of cookware and none have completely pleased me until now.

    All-Clad = All-Champion!
For Christmas, I received a gift certificate to Williams-Sonoma. While shopping there, I saw they had a table set-up with All-Clad cookware. I had never used the brand before (well, in all honesty, all we've had is cheapie cookware that falls apart within a year). The 1 qt sauce pan was on sale, so I thought, what the heck. We need new pots and pans, why not start little by little with this? I picked up 2 of them and am ever SO glad I did!

This pan is a great size for gravy, sauces, etc. You pick it up and can feel how durable it is (very heavy in contrast to the cheapie pots). The handle stays wonderfully cool and is solidly attached to the pot (unlike cheapies, I highly doubt the handle on this pot will ever come loose!) The ease of cooking with this (such even heat distribution!) is a joy. Clean up? Piece of cake! All I've ever needed to do is use soap, water and a cloth-covered sponge.

Overall, I HIGHLY recommend the All-Clad brand to anyone who needs new cookware. I am completely sold and cannot wait to buy our next piece! Thumbs up from this extremely, deliriously happy customer.

    Outstanding value
This is outstanding All Clad quality, at an unbelieveable price. I have used various pieces of All Clad stainless for about 8 years now, and it looks almost as good as when it was new. The quality is as good as they say. I am happy to be able to add this 1 quart pan to my collection at such a low price. One quart is pretty small, but it does occasionally come in handy for small amuonts, and even if you use it rarely you will still get your $ worth. The pan is relatively short compared to its diameter (unlike All Clad's 2 quart pan, which seems exceptionally tall) and you can use it like a very small saute pan.

As others have mentioned, the pan does not come with a lid. If you have other All Clad cookware, this is not a problem - the pan is the same diameter as the 1 1/2 and 2 quart saucepans, and the lids from those fit this 1 quart version just fine. All Clad makes most of its pans in standard diameters, so there are only a few lid sizes that are needed -- the 1, 1 1/2, and 2 quart saucepans all use the same size lid; the 3 and 4 quart saucepans use the same lid as the 2 quart saute pan and 2 1/2 quart Windsor; the 6 and 8 quart stockpots use the same size lid as the 3 quart saute pan. So as your collection grows, you will find you dont really need a lid for each pan (unless you actually want to use all of them at once, and have enough burners on the range to do so!)

Keep an eye out for deals like this one on All Clad. They sometimes make available various small pans at a very low price to introduce people to the line. (One of my first purchases was the 1 1/2 quart pan in stainless, an extremely handy size which they apparently do not currently make in stainless; it is available only in the MasterChef2.)

IF I KNEW YOU WERE COMING I'D HAVE USED ANOTHER CAKE PAN
From uncongealed custards to how not to cry when chopping onions I've learned many lessons in the kitchen. The latest is "Price does not equal quality."

I broke into the cooky jar and paid the whopping price for this All-Clad cake pan, thinking it was a lifetime investment and would serve us well. Should have rethought that.

Every cook probably has a recipe for this chocolate cake. I've heard it called "Mississippi Mud Cake" or "Rocky Road Cake.: It's simply a very rich, delicious chocolate cake frosted with a thick pecan studded chocolate frosting. Most importantly, it's a no fail cake.

With weekend guests arriving I decided to inaugurate my new cake pan. Horror of horrors - a disaster! Surely the oven was on the blink. What else could have caused the bottom of the cake to be burned and the center soggy?

I hurriedly mixed another batch, refilled the cake pan and ran next door to use my friend and neighbor's oven. You guessed it - the same. She assured me that her oven was working perfectly.

Frustrated, quite out of sorts, and almost out of flour, I mixed another batch, poured the batter into my old $2.99 cake tin, and in 35 minutes had a perfect cake.

Attempts to return my pricey All-Clad were met with cold stares. All-Clad? All bad.

    Incredible!
This is an incredible pan to say the least and is extremely versitle. I have made cakes, baked casseroles, pasta dishes, etc. and whatever type ingredients you may use, it simply will not harm this pan. One of my first dishes was baked raviolli with lots of gooey mozerrella cheese, tomatoes, marina sauce - the works. I stored the leftovers in the pan, reheated it in the pan and cleaned the pan without a scouring pad - to my amazement I only used a soapy sponge and literally in two minutes it was spotless and the pan had not discolored. If it were any other pan, it would have been a nightmare to clean. Cake slid right out, brownies had a brown bottom, not black, casseroles won't stick. Yes, it's a little pricey, but it's worth every single cent!

    Worth it!
The price of this pan threw me, but I decided to give it a try since the cookware is so good. The pan is the best I've ever used. It doesn't stick, it cleans up quickly, and it's true, you CAN use metal utensils in it. I've had the pan for almost a year, and it looks, and bakes, as if it's brand new, even though it is used constantly.

    Does not worth the price.
This bowl is made of gold, sorry, platinum. Oh no! The quality of this SS bowl is very high. Why giving it one star? There is no virtual difference between this bowl and quality SS bowls sold for less than 20% its price. ...I am picky when it comes to bowls. I use them a lot and drop them from time to time. Save your money and do not support such companies selling their products at ridiculous prices. Do not believe their products are better than others. They are very good but do not worth the price. Shop around and your will see other products even better than All-Clad products at less than 25% their price. They are pricing their products like if their customers are the Pentagon and the defense ministry.

    I love this bowl!
I have several pieces of All Clad. I love this little bowl! It's great for mixing brownie's, eggs, pancakes....etc. I have other bowls, but, this is the one I reach for. You're buying with confidence when you purchase All Clad. The name speaks for itself, quality! You will not be disappointed.

    Wonderful!
This line of handled bowls from All-Clad is wonderful! I first purchased a three bowl set (5, 3, and 1.5 quart) and then discovered these smaller one quart bowls as well as the bigger seven quart bowl. I have found the handles to be extremely useful, especially when tossing salads, mixing batters, or doing any other task the requires a person to hold the bowl steady.

These one quart bowls are perfect for beating eggs or blending a sauce. I have not yet tried using these for a double boiler, but it looks like a possibility.

I love these bowls and wonder how I lived without them.

Not All Clad Quality - Cheaply made. Don't buy it !!!
I purchase two of these spice racks thinking I would be getting something reasonable. But All Clad let me down. When my spice racks came the metal on the rack was bent. I would have to say this was a poorly made set. The lids on the jars will easily wear away. Even on the first uses the lips were a little difficult to handle. The is not the typical quality of All Clad items- all I can say this was poorly made and spending this $30 something dollars on this is just way too much. This item is worth 75% less than the asking price. Not a great gift nor is it functional. It just sits in the corner on my countertop doing nothing.
