Pricey but worth it!
This lid makes my 12 inch fry pan much more useable. It is of the same high quality as my cookware set which I absolutely love. I ordered this lid with a promotional gift certificate that cut the price a little and made it somewhat easier to swallow. All-Clad is definitely the finest in cookware, and this lid is a beautiful addition to my set!

Great for Turkey Soup and making jam
No boiling over the top with this pan on your stove. It takes a bit longer to heat up than a smaller pot but when that jam gets a roiling boil it doesn't splatter all over the kitchen. Also if you do large quanities of applesauce this pan is great. Or cook 3 dungeness crabs? No problem, 10 ears of corn, no problem. Simmer a turkey carcass, no problem. The only thing wrong is the pot is big on the shelf but hey, its worth it. Great pot, only wish they made a 16 in stainless for making beer.

Best pan ever!
This pan is great! cooks quick, browns food beautifuly. Use the Bar Keeper's Friend for clean up.It works well. This pan is A+++!

Best Pans for Serious Cooks
Yes, these pans are expensive, but you can leave them to your children. I have used many different kinds of pans and All-Clad is hands down the best. The reason? The aluminum core that goes up the sides of the pan, not just on the bottom. This assures even cooking and avoids hot spots. To the reviewers who say things stick in this pan, you don't cook eggs and fish in this. Use a non-stick. But if you want to sear meat and get a great "fond" this is the one that will do it. The non-stick is exceptional as well. You will notice a difference in your cooking when you use good quality pans! I promise!

Great pan
This pan is great, easy to cook with, very even heating, and very light for its size compared to cast iron, solid steel, or copper bottom pans.

It seems a little pricey, but once you cook with it a while, you realize why it is so good.

Metal handles help when doing oven pan roasting -- they don't melt like plastic ones do, but still stay cool on the stove top -- unlike some other brands metal handles.

You get a good fond with it, so you have lots of good stuff left for making gravies and pan sauces with.

No non-stick stuff to flake off. Metal handles are rivoted on, so they don't fall off like those cheap bolted on plastic ones (anything by Faberware) or the welded on metal ones.

The only caution is don't cook things like eggs and pancakes in it -- they stick like crazy no matter how much oil you use..... buy a non-stick pan for that sort of stuff.

All-Clad: Another "Made in China" distributor
When I purchase cookware, I usually look for All-Clad. With All-Clad, I expect a superior product made from superior American materials by American craftsman. Not so any more. All-Clad has become another cookie-cutter distributor selling "Made in China" goods at inflated prices.

To think that I tossed my previous metal tongs to buy these "Made in China" tongs! Without the All-Clad trademark, these tongs are worth [not as much].

I've purchase many All-Clad products in the past. I won't be buying more All-Clad/Made in China products in the future.

Beautiful, well-made but too heavy.
These are probably the most beautiful set of tongs I have ever seen. They have a mirror-bright, high polish and they are so sturdy and well-made that they should last a lifetime and then some. They are so good-looking that you should not keep them hidden away in the kitchen. Put them out on the table or buffet to serve up your gourmet delights.

The locking mechanism is clever but a bit too difficult to handle if you have arthritis or other difficulties with pain and weakness in your hands and fingers (speaking from experience, here). Because the locking mechanism is difficult to move from the locked to unlocked, and vice versa positions, it could prove too difficult for anyone with painful hands. The weight of these tongs could also be a problem. If you must hold and manipulate them for a prolonged period of time, like a lengthy cooking session, they could prove to be too heavy. My fingers and thumb joints get rather painful from holding these heavy tongs. I gave up trying to unlock and relock them whenever I need to. I just keep them in the unlocked position and keep a rubber band around them when I have to keep them closed to store them in a drawer.

I hate to give these wonderful tongs a 4-star rating instead of a 5 as they otherwise deserve. But a word to the wise: If you have any hand pain or grip problems, you might want to look for some less well-made (and much lighter!) tongs.

All-Clad Stainless 12-Inch Locking Tongs - Perfect!
These tongs are great. I use them all the time with my All Clad cookware. They are perfect for tossing sautéed spinach, turning chicken cutlets etc. The locking feature is great. I keep them in the locked position when they are in the utensil crock, drying or by the stove. The polished stainless steel is so beautiful you could definitely serve with them as well. It is excellent quality that will last a lifetime. An All Clad must have! Highly recommended! A+ !

Not even this nonstick lasts forever
I have just about avery All-Clad pot or pan. The non sticks are no worse than others out there but, they do eventually flake off their nonstick surface. I did return mine for a full refund after 3 years of use which was nice. However, when it comes to nonstick, that is one time when I would opt for a cheaper version that I won't feel bad throwing away.

Great pan, lifetime warranty, but high cost!
I've heard some complain that their nonstick surface did not last as long as they would have liked, or that it actually became sticky. Those reading should know that you should only use a nonstick pan for cooking things that require it, like; omlettes, eggs, pancakes, etc. For sautes and normal cooking, you should have another regular (i.e. not a nonstick type) pan. This will ensure that your nonstick pan will last a very long time because you will not be prematurely wearing it down by using it for cooking it was not made for. Sautes cook much better on a regular pan anyway. You should only use plastic or wood utensils on it, never metal. Also, nonstick pans are NOT dishwasher safe! Dishwashers will damage the nonstick surface! Wash your nonstick with a soft sponge and soapy water only.

All Clad is probably the best cookware around. This is due to the layered metal design (and the lifetime warranty). It has stainless steel layers with aluminium in between. This works to evenly distribute the heat (even if you have a nasty electric element stove!) because aluminium is a great heat conductor. Also, this pan has the layers on the sides as well so the heat distribution is quite even.

That said, my feeling is that this pan is too expensive. It's very well made and works well, however for non stick pans, you will see very similar performace in the much cheaper Emerilware nonstick (also made by All Clad). The difference is that the Emerilware nonstick pan does not use any stainless steel. Instead, it uses anodized aluminium. Aluminium is a great heat conductor so this pan will perform just as well, for a much cheaper price. The outside finish may not look as good for as long as a stainless steel finish though so if you care about looks and don't mind spending the money, this All Clad is tops.

The Emerilware one still has the lifetime warranty and is of the exact same dimensions as the All Clad branded one. And I like the handle on the Emerilware even better than the handle on the All Clad.

With this All Clad, you are paying more for the layered stainless steel and aluminium, which require more labor to produce as well as more metel and materials.

Of course the choice is yours. If you want the best and don't mind spending the extra money, this All Clad is tops. If however you want nearly identical performance at a cheaper cost and the same lifetime warranty, the less expensive Emerilware pan would be a better match. I don't think you can go wrong either way!

All-Clad Stainless 10-Inch Nonstick Fry Pan - Love it!
Not only is All Clad stainless cookware superb, the nonstick is superb as well! I am not a fan of nonstick in general however I make an exception with fry pans. Eggs and cheese are just so much healthier when they are cooked with less oil. That being said I have the 7, 8 & two of the 10 inch All Clad nonstick fry pans and I couldn't be happier with them. I have 2 of the 10 inch so I can make two 3 egg omelets at the same time. I find the 10 inch is perfect for 3 eggs, my husband and I prefer our omelets loose or slightly runny versus dry and this is a great size for that, it is also great for several scrambled eggs or breakfast sausage. The 8 inch is perfect for a 2 egg omelet or scrambled eggs and the 7 inch is perfect for 1 or 2 eggs or sausage.

All Clad fry pans (and the entire All Clad cookware collection) are first class, top quality, well made, designed to last and come with a lifetime warranty...Doesn't it make more sense to buy a top quality pan that has a lifetime warranty and will be replaced by the manufacturer than a cheap pan that will eventually end up in the trash? All Clad makes more sense for your wallet and the environment and wouldn't you rather use "crème de la crème" professional quality cookware than junk? I know I would!

Highly recommended! A+++!

Expensive, but very nice
All-Clad makes some outstanding cookware, but I must confess that I own very few of their products, due in large part to the price. I find cast iron to be a much better material for cookware and it is immensely affordable. I highly reccommend Lodge Cast Iron.

That said, stainless has a few advantages as well and this piece in particular is a testament to the quality of All-Clad's craftwork. It is a heavy, durable piece that holds heat well (though a cast iron wok will do the same thing for 1/10 the price). It is ideal for stir fry or browning meat and it can go from the stovetop to the oven and back, so it is very versatile. You could also use it as a chicken fryer or small roaster for game hen or duck.

There are two things to be aware of with any stainless steel cookware: 1) don't use metal utensils- you will scratch the !@#$$ out of it. Use wood, teflon/rubberized, or plastic utensils. 2) Don't let it soak in water. Contrary to popular belief, stainless steel can and will rust if treated improperly; say, by scratching it with metal utensils then letting it sit in dishwater for days.

Good size for 2-4 people, Scratches easily
Good "wok" for 4 people or 2 people with leftovers. It is not big enough for more than 4. Overall good sturdy construction and it does heat evenly. I use medium or medium heat, does not require anything higher or may burn the oil/food. No problem with sticking as long as you keep stir-frying.

I bought the metal All-Clad Stainless Solid Square Spoon and used it to stir-fry with this wok. What a big mistake! It left irreversible scratches all over the wok after just one time of light use! So the lesson here is DO NOT USE METAL UTENSILS ON THIS WOK!! Use wooden ones instead. I called All-Clad and they said their limited warranty does not cover these kinds of scratches, only manufacture defects. Be warned!

This wok has performed very well otherwise. Cleans up easily as long as you soak it in water after use if you don't have time to clean right away.

This is the pan to have...
I recently purchased this pan, and I couldn't be happier. It looks great, is easy to clean, and heats beautifully! Food browns well, and so far, doesn't stick. This is the pan I use most, for stir-fries, for braising, for sauteing, whatever. My old pans, a set of Calphalon hard-anodized non-stick pans, are going to be replaced, one by one...

The other great purchase I made was the All-Clad Non-stick grill pan--it is wonderful!

Not impressed at first
I bought this to make pancakes. I didn't feel it did a good job. Maybe that is because of it's size, but I thought that because of the material, it is supposed to carry heat evenly to all areas of the griddle. I use a frying pan instead (also by All-Clad) which I find works much better. But after reading the other review, I will try it for cookies, and other baking. That wasn't something I thought of.

All-Clad Stainless 12-Inch Round Griddle
I purchased the griddle because it was beautiful! I did have my doubts on whether or not I would use it but I find myself reaching for this pan all the time! I have several pieces by All-Clad and am very impressed with the quality. The griddle is large and actually measures 15 inches in diameter not including the handles. Total diameter at its largest point is close to 17 inches. I found it too large to comfortably use on a single burner on the stovetop and find myself using it in the oven more. It makes a wonderful cookie sheet! The cookies bake evenly and don't stick. I have used it for nachos and various appetizers. It makes a beautiful serving platter that remains warm while the food is consumed. The possibilities are endless!

Not as long lasting as I would have hoped
We received this pan as a wedding gift 18-months ago. Athough it was great initially, it started to lose it's non-stick abilities about 6 months ago, and now is completely useless. I would have expected to get more than 18 months of service out of such an expensive piece of cookware.

not non stick anymore!
we purchased this pan less than a year ago and it has now totally lost its nonstick ability. I spoke to a rep at a kitchen supply store and basically I was told that to keep the non stick going for a long time (usually max of about 10 years), you need to basically cook only omelets. It can't be used for other things at really high heat. I never heard of this before so now my pan is the same as a regular all clad and the non stick does not work. very disappointing.

Cooks like a pro
I love All-Clad cookware. This pan distributes heat evenly so that everything in the pan cooks at an even rate. The only drawback is that the pan is a bit heavy for people not used to high end cookware.
