Good Little Mixing Bowl

Amco is a commercial line of heavy duty stainless steel products that are used in restaurant and home kitchens. I have a set of less expensive stainless steel bowls, but I packed them away when I discovered the Amco bowls. I like the idea that I can purchase exactly the size bowls that I need for cooking and baking.

This Amco 2-Quart Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl is a convenient size for scrambling a few eggs, making a marinade, sauce, or dip. The flat rubberized bottom means that you can place it on a counter while doing your mixing, and it won't slip.

Highly recommended! This bowls is dishwasher-safe, too.

Great product, sturdy and useful

This is a neat idea. I bought it because I really enjoyed the heavy stainless steel Amco pyramid measuring spoons I bought earlier. They are indestructible. However, I had not really considered just how useful this coffee spoon is.

LONG HANDLE KEEPS YOUR HANDS OUT OF BAG OR AWAY FROM SHARP RIM:
If you buy coffee in a bag or a can, this spoon's long handle (7-1/4") makes it perfect. You keep your hands out of the bag or away from the sharp edges of the coffee can.

HOLE IN THE END FOR HANGING:
The coffee spoon also has a hole in the end of the handle, if you want to hang it up somewhere.

DURABLE AND ATTRACTIVE
Like the measuring spoons, I bought earlier, this product is made to last. It is solid. The handle will not bend and the spoon itself, I am sure could be run over by a car and escape damage-free. If you drop it on your toe, it could be memorable as well.

CURVED-BOTTOM, NOT SUITABLE FOR TAMPING:
One note, this spoon has a rounded bottom. If you want a spoon, that has a flat bottom for tamping, I noticed one long-handled just like this is also for sale on this site as well.

This is a nice product. Not one that I will get to rely on and break only never to find again. I can plan on using this a lifetime.

Looks good

These trivets look good on the wall and the table. However, both need to be used for larger dishes, as they are not as stable as other trivets we own and can cause the larger dishes to tip if not perfectly centered. Even with that drawback, I like them and would buy them again.

How do you work this thing?

I bought this thinking that it would go well with my calphalon wok... unfortunately, I have yet to understand how to use it!

I"ve worked at a chinese restaurant and they don't even use tools like these so I'm guessing this is an American invention. They use a Wok Turner and a strainer all steel to let you know.

Well, the designs are interesting and the construction is good so at least it has that going for it. ALSO NOTE: Don't even think about using this on a Steel Wok, leave it on the wok for more than a few seconds and you're utensil will turn to putty.

They work well

I bought these because the tools that came with my wok kept bending during cooking, and they do hold up under pressure. Note: they work in a regular steel wok as well.

DON'T BUY THIS RACK IF YOU WANT STAINLESS STEEL!

Unfortunately, I missed the reviewer who correctly stated that this is NOT A STAINLESS STEEL rack.

It is merely a plain, chrome-plated rack, like virtually any other rack.

It's bad enough that it came and wasn't as described, but the fact that the description hasn't been updated since last June (18 months) to help buyers avoid dissapointment is just poor service.

NOT stainless steel

I've been looking for stainless steel cooling racks and when I found it here I ordered 3. When they arrived, I noticed the surface flaking. Which indicates these are chrome or nickel plated. These are NOT stainless steel as advertised.

Update: One of the reviewer states that the term "stainless steel" means "machine washable". Stainless steel is steel with a percentage of Chromium and another element which makes them resistant to rust. If you've heard the term 18/10 stainless those are the percentage of material that makes them a certain grade of stainless steel. I still have the racks because i can't seem to find stainless steel racks. The search goes on.

Best cooling racks I ever bought

Money wisely spent. I bought two of these substantial, sturdy racks and use them nearly every day to cool cookies, muffins, bread loaves, buns, cakes, waffles, pancakes, etc. The lines are close enough together that cookies don't bend or fall through. These racks also work in the bottom of my large roasting pan, to keep meats off the bottom of the pan. no more scrubbing by hand and no more rusty cooling racks. Buy two, so you have one available while the other is in the dishwasher. You'll love 'em.

Too much work, didn't last long

The Amco sifter broke during the second time I was using it and the first time I used it it took a long time and the handle kept sticking. Also my hand, wrist and arm were hurting so bad from all the work it took just to get four cups sifted. It also leaks flour where the handle is at the bottom.

poor quality for the companies reputation

This sifter broke a month after I got it. It seems sturdy but it actually requires carefull handling. The sifting is somewhat slow but good (excercise!!!).

I love it!

This is just like the one that my grandmother owned, but the handle is easier to move!
