a best set of measuring spoons for your money
How many measuring spoons do you need in a set? Just four.

After reading all the positive reviews, I bought this set on Amazon.com six months ago. The spoons are sturdy and heavy-set, with their curvature perfectly shaped to measure both dry and wet ingredients. Unlike ones made of plastic or aluminum, the stainless steel construction makes the measured ingredients slide right off without leaving messy residues. Also, its stream-lined design makes its cleanup a breeze.

Good set of spoons.
For many years I have been working with inferior spoons. I had mostly plastic sets and Aluminum ones (I think they were aluminum). Boy was I glad to get this set. The spoons are really well made. First of all, they're heavy and not flimsy like those plastic or aluminum ones (which feel like they'll break at anytime). Secondly, I haven't been able to tarnish these spoons (Unlike my plastic set that was stained pretty badly). I recommend this set to anyone who had to go through life using those flimsy, inferior spoons.

Sturdy, high quality
These are well-made spoons, not junky at all, which is always a possibility with cheap, mail-order items of this type. The steel is heavy-gauge, and all the edges are rounded and safe. Good value and a good way to "top up" an order.

Great design... great price... great all around
This is a wonderful item. Before I had this one (and the same one in another size) I only had plastic bowls. This one is so much better on alot of levels.

First it is a wonderful, all around great size. Its substantial size makes it great for alot of mixing chores. Its easy to clean and maintain. And great for salads as it holds the temperature and the salads stay cold.

My old plastic bowls werent as study and had a tendancy to tip, didnt help with temerature reculation and were harder to clean (tomato would stain it , you couldnt use plastic as a make-shif double boiler, and it was hard to ever be sure any grease was off it, essential for whipping egg whites.

this is a great item. They arent bad for storage either as they nest. I wouldnt get any other bowls, at this point...

Cool Bowl
I never thought I'd gush about a mixing bowl, but this one is great. I bought it as part of a deal with the Whirley Pop popcorn popper and I love this bowl. This is a thicker and heavier stainless steel than all my other bowls. Because it is heavier, it is less prone to move or tip over. All mixing bowls are not created the same, and this one is clearly one of the best.

Essential Kitchen Items: Amco Bowls
Amco is a commercial line of heavy duty stainless steel products that are used in restaurant and home kitchens. I have a set of less expensive stainless steel bowls, but I packed them away when I discovered the Amco bowls. I like the idea that I can purchase exactly the size bowls that I need for cooking and baking.

This Amco 4-Quart Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl is a convenient size. I recommend buying the 5-Quart and 6-Quart sizes too. (Recall that KitchenAid Stand Mixer Bowls are in 4.5-Quart and 5-Quart sizes.) The flat bottoms means that you can place them on a counter (on top of a damp flour sack kitchen towel would prevent any slippage). There are many times you will want to use one of these bowls instead of using your stand mixer. For example, chocolate brownie mixes usually recommend 50 stirs by hand.

Highly recommended! These bowls are dishwasher-safe, too.

Convenient !
This is beautiful Mixing Bowl ! And this is convenience for all cooking and it is easy to clean this. I think everyone will be satisfied.

I want to give this 3...
because it does not fit my needs, but that would not be fair. yes it is an excellent bowl, and way better then I expected. A bit pricy though for a bowl.I looked at the ones locally, and while the quality is much less, they would have fit my needs fine. I do love this bowl but I would not ever need one this good.On the plus side, with this quality I can let the kids play with it too.

For example, chocolate brownie mixes usually recommend 50 stirs by hand, so you can hold the bowl by the rim with one hand and stir with the other.

Highly recommended! These bowls are dishwasher-safe, too.

Great for what you need
This is a great sifter for all your cooking needs. I have only one thing against it(the reason it has 4 not 5 sars). The spring is too strong in the handle. If you use this much you will either be very tired or have forearms like Popeye!! Still over all a good sifter.

Great Price - but why charge so much shipping
For all you aspiring cooks out there, when a recipe calls for sifted flour, don't do like I used to do and just just loose measured flour - it isn't the same. Sifting is an important step in any recipe that calls for it.

This is a great product, and a great price... but when you add in shipping the cost doubles.

Handles Break Off Easily
Loved how these cups function but once placed in the dishwasher 2-3 times, the handles easily came off. They seem to just be glued on. Don't recommend.

Another great kitchen product from Amco
The Amco 4-piece Steel Measuring Cup Set is something I use all the time. They are sturdy and well manufactured and I don't think they will be falling apart very soon. I bought it as an extra set of measuring cups I can use when cooking, but I now consider this set my main one. I consider this purchase a good investment and will most certainly purchase other Amco products in the future.

Functional and esthetically pleasing.
If you love to prepare food, these measuring cups are for you. They are very well made and are fairly heavy. No cheap metal here. They feel good in your hand. If cooking is as much of an art as a necessity to you, these will make an excellent addition to your kitchen.

Is there any difference?
I've seen a lot of colanders and personally, they're all about the same. What makes the Amco Colander better than others is that it uses standard sizes and they're known for their high quality steel. This is one of those where you can substitute for a cheaper product but if you got the money, go for it. =)

Amco not Asian oriented.
No Asian would buy this and to add, my grandmother would call me a disgrace if I even owned this. I'm a loyal Amco fan but I gotta admit, Amco should never go into Asian cookware, or tools.

On the sidenote: it's a great present for those couples who wants their significant others to learn how to use a chopstick. Shows initiative. =)

(I think the guy or girl who invented this probably made it for people beginning to learn how to use a chopstick cause there would be absolutely NO other reason for it. Grips on a chopstick?! Married a non-asian eh? ha ha... it's cool.)

Designerchef is incorrect
Contrary to dc's review, chopsticks with grips are indeed sold and used commonly in Japan, and probably elsewhere. It all boils down to personal preference, but to say that grips are "non-asian" or an americanization is just incorrect.

These types of chopsticks are sold and used in Asia
Chopsticks come in all shapes, sizes, materials, and colours - even within one country. They, naturally, originated in China and were probably derived from the use of sturdy twigs and small branches.

Within China itself, the variety is virtually endless. On the really low end you can find long and blunt chopsticks made of bamboo or plastic, and on the really high end you can find chopsticks carved out of fine wood, ivory, or imperial jadeite. You can find chopsticks made out of synthetic or non-traditional materials such as stainless steel, high-quality ceramics, synthetic wood, and, as this product, nylon. You can also find chopsticks of various shapes such as blunt, tapered, pointy, and with grip. Grip-tipped chopsticks come in the form shown in this product or in a textured surface on the tip (tiny raised bumps or a somewhat sandpaper-like texture).

Other East Asian countries have somewhat different varieties: Korea uses flat chopsticks that are usually made of metal - the use of flat chopsticks is a mystery to me; Japan seems to exclusively use tapered or pointy chopsticks; and Southeast Asia tends to prefer the blunt variety should they use any at all.

All-in-all, I don't find this a joke or a sort of training wheel for newcomers to chopstick use. Morever, a modified tip for better grip is a "God send" for certain dishes that prove difficult for even the most adept user to grasp with non-textured or non-grip-enchanced chopsticks.

I collect chopsticks but I don't own a pair like this... yet...I would actually give these chopsticks four stars as I believe chopsticks should be light and more or less more balanced in weight than this probably feels. Synthetic materials may be a not so bad idea as one may burn one's lips or tongue if the pair of chopsticks one is using conducts heat a little too well.

Really a 2-piece set
The baster bulb cracked for me too on the second use. It is terrible quality. The brush was ok, and the thermometer was fine as well. The rest was useless. Overall, it's not a bad value if you buy it understanding that you will be getting only two functional pieces: The brush and thermometer. I'd still suggest KitchenAid products instead.

The turkey was good anyway
I thought I'd save a little money by going this route, but I should have just spent a little more and gotten quality tools. The bulb, on the sturdy looking baster, split the second time I went to baste the turkey. I ended up using a long-handled ladel to baste the bird. Given that I no longer have a baster, the cleaning tool is obsolete. I had a terrible time trying to get that twine untied (recommend you don't try to untie the twine after preparing the turkey; clean, dry hands would have helped (sure, it seems obvious now)). The knot was so tight that I had to pick it apart with the poultry lacers. The thermometer and poultry lacers worked fine. I didn't use the brush.
