Great design... great price... great all aroundFirst it is a wonderful, all around great size. Its substantial size makes it great for alot of mixing chores. Its easy to clean and maintain. And great for salads as it holds the temperature and the salads stay cold.
My old plastic bowls werent as study and had a tendancy to tip, didnt help with temerature reculation and were harder to clean (tomato would stain it , you couldnt use plastic as a make-shif double boiler, and it was hard to ever be sure any grease was off it, essential for whipping egg whites.
this is a great item. They arent bad for storage either as they nest. I wouldnt get any other bowls, at this point...
Cool Bowl
Essential Kitchen Items: Amco BowlsThis Amco 4-Quart Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl is a convenient size. I recommend buying the 5-Quart and 6-Quart sizes too. (Recall that KitchenAid Stand Mixer Bowls are in 4.5-Quart and 5-Quart sizes.) The flat bottoms means that you can place them on a counter (on top of a damp flour sack kitchen towel would prevent any slippage). There are many times you will want to use one of these bowls instead of using your stand mixer. For example, chocolate brownie mixes usually recommend 50 stirs by hand.
Highly recommended! These bowls are dishwasher-safe, too.

I want to give this 3...
Kitchen Essential: Amco Bowl--6-QuartThis Amco 6-Quart Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl is a convenient size. The flat bottom on this bowl means that you can place it on a counter (on top of a damp flour sack kitchen towel would prevent any slippage). There are many times you will want to use this bowl instead of using your stand mixer for making easy bread, muffin, brownie, and cake mix recipes from boxes, using an electric hand mixer or a wooden spoon. For example, chocolate brownie mixes usually recommend 50 stirs by hand, so you can hold the bowl by the rim with one hand and stir with the other.
Highly recommended! These bowls are dishwasher-safe, too.

Amco not Asian oriented. On the sidenote: it's a great present for those couples who wants their significant others to learn how to use a chopstick. Shows initiative. =)
(I think the guy or girl who invented this probably made it for people beginning to learn how to use a chopstick cause there would be absolutely NO other reason for it. Grips on a chopstick?! Married a non-asian eh? ha ha... it's cool.)
Designerchef is incorrect
These types of chopsticks are sold and used in AsiaWithin China itself, the variety is virtually endless. On the really low end you can find long and blunt chopsticks made of bamboo or plastic, and on the really high end you can find chopsticks carved out of fine wood, ivory, or imperial jadeite. You can find chopsticks made out of synthetic or non-traditional materials such as stainless steel, high-quality ceramics, synthetic wood, and, as this product, nylon. You can also find chopsticks of various shapes such as blunt, tapered, pointy, and with grip. Grip-tipped chopsticks come in the form shown in this product or in a textured surface on the tip (tiny raised bumps or a somewhat sandpaper-like texture).
Other East Asian countries have somewhat different varieties: Korea uses flat chopsticks that are usually made of metal - the use of flat chopsticks is a mystery to me; Japan seems to exclusively use tapered or pointy chopsticks; and Southeast Asia tends to prefer the blunt variety should they use any at all.
All-in-all, I don't find this a joke or a sort of training wheel for newcomers to chopstick use. Morever, a modified tip for better grip is a "God send" for certain dishes that prove difficult for even the most adept user to grasp with non-textured or non-grip-enchanced chopsticks.
I collect chopsticks but I don't own a pair like this... yet...I would actually give these chopsticks four stars as I believe chopsticks should be light and more or less more balanced in weight than this probably feels. Synthetic materials may be a not so bad idea as one may burn one's lips or tongue if the pair of chopsticks one is using conducts heat a little too well.

After reading all the positive reviews, I bought this set on Amazon.com six months ago. The spoons are sturdy and heavy-set, with their curvature perfectly shaped to measure both dry and wet ingredients. Unlike ones made of plastic or aluminum, the stainless steel construction makes the measured ingredients slide right off without leaving messy residues. Also, its stream-lined design makes its cleanup a breeze.
