The first one of these took for ever to put together and took 2 of us. once we got the hang of it (we are both women) we were able to put the rest together in about 20 mins a piece. 2nd person a definite help or you must be very agile. I have 10 sets and I am getting more. Using for storage of merchandise. Holds a lot. I prefer these to heavy plastic shelves I have used before.

First of all, this shelf system is very easy to put together-- I bought 3 of them to organize my messy storage room in the basement and had them all put together in 30-40 minutes. Once put together, I was extremely impressed with the strength of the units-- I have them fully loaded and they are very sturdy. I have seen similar units at much higher prices and would highly recommend these as a great product value.

When organizing my basement this spring, I bought one of these units. It beats the so-called heavy duty metal shelved unit in my garage which buckled. It also beats the plastic quick together unit from Home Depot which had a cracked leg during assembly. These shelves are adjustable-height, giving flexibility for varying height storage cartons. Unlike open grate shelves, things will not drop through. And neither metal nor wood will break when it's below freezing. One downside: because of the particle board, it was heavy to get in/out of the car. I thought assembly was straightforward and it went together pretty easily, with the shelving added after assembly and location adjustments. Yes, a few tabs did bend (they also unbend) and you have to check that all tabs are "caught" into the shelf, but these were not significant problems at all. I have bought five more.

DO NOT DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!! IT TAKES FOREVER TO INSTALL, IT SPLINTERS, AND THE SCREWS DO NOT FIT IN THE HOLES! THIS ITEM AND ALL OTHER "ORGANIZE-IT" ITEMS ARE NO GOOD.

I actually bought one and then bought two more. They are perfect for those who want to organize on a budget. They went together easily. I'm not at all mechanical but was successful on the first try. One is being used for a kids closet for shoes. One I'm using in the breezeway to put gloves, keys, scarves, shoes or slippers. The third is perfect in my home office for office and craft supplies, packing tape, mail and all the other things that get lost easily on my desk.

Great way to organize your shoes and your closet! The cube style makes it easy to find the shoes you're looking for. Took under 10 mins to put together. Love it!

The directions for this product advise that you have the option of building one complete 5-shelf vertical unit or one 3-shelf unit and one 2-shelf unit (to stand side by side). I tried the former option first but found that the upper half of the unit was not sturdy. The problem is that clips that bind the side rails to the vertical posts just aren't strong enough to support the unit above the third shelf. I ended up rejecting the 5-shelf approach and built two separate units. These two units appear to be of sufficient strength and support standing alone. If you want two 36 inch tall shelving units this product is a good bet - as a single 72 inch tall shelving unit, though, it just doesn't cut it.

I just bought this at Walmart today for $19.99! I love Target, but Geez that's $20 price difference!

This shelving unit is great. I bought one for my basement closet and liked it so much that I went back and bought a second one, and my parents bought two of them. It is sturdy and very easy to put together, although the first shelf was the hardest. It took less than an hour by myself and all I needed was a rubber mallet. It was a great buy on sale for $32.99, but even the regular price of $39.99 is a good buy.
