Comfortable Affordable Economic and Safe
Super quiet and very effectiveThe Vornado works wonderfully. It is very lightweight and solidly built. The controls are easy to use and intuitive. I really like that it has the High/Low switch which enables you to limit the heater to 0-750 watts or 0-1500 watts. This way, if you don't need instant total-room temperature, you can use the lower power setting to warm the room gradually, but if you are cold, the High setting will blast out the heat and then throttle-down when the temperature is reached. Either way, once the room is at temperature, the unit uses the lowest electricity required to maintain the temp.
As for the Vornado's ability to heat a room, it is excellent. The fan is nearly silent and does a very good job of circulating the warm air around the room to provide a nice even heat. For me, since I use the unit primarily in my computer room, I can't even hear the Vornado at all over the computer's fans. However, in a quiet room, the Vornado continues to please by being a silent servant.

Like a Smooth Luxury Vehicle; Excellent for Midsize RoomHowever, The Vornado has its limits: sometimes the effect is a bit too subtle. If you're very cold and need a quick warm-up, you may prefer the noisier, unidirectional heaters. I think the distinction is whether you want a body heater or a room heater. The Vornado is more of the latter, and then, only for mid-size rooms with drafts sealed off (e.g., close your windows all the way).
Safety features are excellent. The exterior never gets hot, and there is an automatic shut off if the unit tips over. There is a thermostat that works extremely well. You can either set this to automatic and let the Vornado boost the heat when needed, or you can opt for continuous heating. There is a 1,500 and an 800-Watt setting, both of these feel comfortable at close range. I recommend this for those who want to gradually and thoroughly heat a midsize room. Again, it takes about 10-15 minutes of initial heating, followed by thermostat-controlled auto-on to maintain temperature.

good purchase in affordable priceOne thing i didn't like is not being able to turn off timer. When you turn on fan, timer has to be set manually, and timer is always ON. Other then that, oscillation, three speed setting is perfect. It takes a little space in corner. With Amazon's free shipping and no taxes at most, the end price i paid makes it worth.

Not a good quality product. When I took it apart, I noticed there was what I later found out to be vaseline smothered around the heating coils. I smelled it and realized that this is what I was tasting. This part is not supposed to be in contact with the drinking water, but the seals must be bad, because no matter how much I cleaned the water basin and tighted the lug nuts, the water would eventually taste like vaseline again.
A few calls were made to the customer support center each time but they just read you the instructions and don't know anything else.
