The only Philips Iron in the 2002 US market. This is the only Philips Iron available these days in the US market. If you have all Philips appliances then you have no choice but to get this one. The iron works very well, can't really complain. Durable and strong. The flow of steam is steady. Very well made in Mexico, I saw this iron in a UK 1998 catalog. The price for this steam iron is a real bargain. The down part is this old fashioned design, more appropriate for my grandmother's home than for mine...

It gets the job done.I had bought this iron due to the fact that i had broken our previous one by accidently nudging the cord causing the iron to hit the cement basement floor, so needless to say the retractible cord option was a high priority feature that has worked well for me. I have had the iron for a year with zero problems and working great. I would recommend this product to anyone. People need to remember that with all mass produced products that there is the occasional product that may break down. The lady with the with the bad experience after 6 months should have instead either gone back to Target or sent the iron back to the company with a letter of concern (There usually is at least a 1 year warranty included with all products of this nature).
Ironing is actually enjoyable!!I used this iron at my aunt's house, and just HAD to go out and buy one for myself. The steam option on the iron is great-it blasts out wrinkles in seconds. Ironing is quick and enjoyable! I don't understand why some of the other reviews say that it takes a long time to heat up-because if you turn it on to the highest setting-it's hot within 2 minutes. Then you can adjust it to whatever setting you want. It's also nice to not have to wind up the cord and tuck it in after use-you just push the button on the side, and it automatically winds up! Great for storage!!!
This Iron's A Deal!I've used this iron for 3 years. I'm shopping for another one because I dropped it too many times resulting in visible damage and performance problems. Otherwise, it's been great! I found it easy to use. Features that I appreciated: 3 different steam levels, a smooth sole plate, a cool water spray that hits the fabric just in front of the iron, auto-off, and a cable reel that really works. If you need the extra bells and whistles on other models, continue looking. If you don't, you get just what you need for $30 in this Panasonic.

Stays Warm all The TimeAppeard to have every single feature I wanted, but when I plugged it in and left it turned "off" the handle stayed warm, which made me nervous.
I returned it and purchased a second one, same problem. I just wanted something I could leave on the ironing board for when I need it, and trust when it's turned "off" it will remain off and cold to the touch.

Great value!I bought this unit based on price, features and styling. The purple accents make this a great-looking iron, one of the most attractive on the Target shelf (though it's a little hard to see the water level through the dark plastic, at least you get a full view of the water reservoir).
This iron works well relative to other home and hotel-use units I have used. I haven't owned it long, but the spray is consistent and it's very useful to have three different steam modes. I do wish the three-way push button controlling these modes was more robust.
I also noticed that the cord retraction was a little irregular, though it's best to use your hand to guide the cord as it whips in anyway. If you must complain about this feature's operation, get yourself a cordless unit or the old stupid wrap-the-cord-around-whole-base variety.
Good Iron, Bad CordAfter spending $60 on a previous iron that never steamed well and then broke after only a couple of years, I decided to try a less expensive one. As far as the ironing itself goes, this Panasonic is great. Gets very hot, very fast and does a better job of removing wrinkles than my previous iron. The steam is powerful and consistent (does not sputter and give out like others I've used). Only complaint is the retractable cord, which, after only a few months, doesn't retract well at all. We have to push the cord in to help it along.

It's too heavy! It might work fine, but it weighs 2 pounds! I didn't even open it. For a light traveler, 2lbs could be a large portion of your suitcase weight. Before buying, put some 2lb weights in your suitcase along with all your clothes & carry around the house a few times to see if you can manage this weight. I decided to try a full steam iron instead or go wrinkled!
GREAT Iron! This iron was a great investment! It is just the right size to take in a suitcase or a backpack. It is easy to use as well.
I have used it on trips to Europe, Canada and across the states and have yet to be disappointed. It is just as powerful as a home iron but weighs a lot less.
I use the steam setting on it the most. The only warning that I can give anyone about that is to be sure to not fill it up too much or it will leak. However, if you fill the resevoir up about half way (which is more than enough for average ironing) then you shouldn't have any issues.
