Iron worked great at first but now will not stay on or make steam just a waste of money, all this after only 5 months.

My new T-Fal iron arrived in two days. I tried it out immediately on my husband's twill work shirts. It is wonderful; the steam is perfect. It cut the usual time it takes me in half. I also tried it on a knit top with a lower temperature and the wrinkles fell right out. I had a Rowenta previously - no comparisom in my mind. Go for this one.

Ironing, I admit, is one of my least favorite chores. Who needs to just stand or sit and mindlessly push a metal object across material?

No more pushing with this iron - thanks to a slick soleplate even the most difficult of materials are pressed with a minimum of effort. Flannel shirts used to be a problem - no more!

And the generous steam holes enable me to give corduroy a professional finish which I've never been able to do in the past.

The automatic turn-off features are a great safety assurance, and the iron itself is ergonomically friendly.

No more blye Monday wash and iron days at our house!

it's amazing as a straighten & a curler.. but i would still advice for both (seperate items) and this for travel & a space saver, if you have a small bathroom.. and of course, the price. you can't beat it!

I have been a fan of the Black & Decker Irons. When my last one quit on me I decided to branch out and see what was out there. After reading the reviews I settled on the T-Fal 18301. The most positive thing about this iron was that it provided lots of steam; there are no more positive recommendations. Negatives: 1)There is no off/on button. This irons decides when it will come on and when it will shut off. At the end I could not even hang up a shirt without it shuting down on me. Then it was plug and un-plug to get it back started. 2) The water tank needed constant refilling. One shirt/pants only before refill. 3) At the end it would not even cut itself on. I purchased this iron 12/29/2002. I placed it in the garbage can 08/24/2003. It was a waste of money and time. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT buy this iron. Save your money, save yourself!

i presently have a t-fal avantis 90 iron and was very pleased with it. have had this iron maybe a year now and it just quit working on me just yesterday 3-15., would like to know what it can do about this if you have a phone number where i can locate them i would appreciate you giving it to me so that i may call them. Was very pleased with the iron but not so please with the length of time it lasted me.

I bought this product since I have both a Vidal Sassoon hair dryer and curling iron and they are both wonderful! However, this straightener is a HORRIBLE product and a complete waste of money. NOTHING is good about it, it just burns your hair and makes it frizzy. Also, the metal plates on the straighter are extremely small so even if it did work for your hair, you would spend forever working through your hair. Bottom line is don't buy this product, go for a ceramic straightener, they are great!

This was a horrible product. I have straight hair and am always looking for something to spice things up- put in waves, and crimps. This product was horrible again- when I tried the straigtening attachment (my hair had a bit of a natural curl at the tips), the little ridges on the side pulled my hair out, and though I did not encounter a burn with the hot water, it certainly landed on my counter quite a few times. This is a crappy product and I would warn you against it. I don't understand why someone would make an iron that pulls your hair out- OUCH! get a clue.

This is a great straightner.. I just got it yesterday and you can use it with or without the steam. With the steam it makes your hair both straight and shiny. It is much better than the Conair 5 in 1 that I had before. Good quality for my money. I haven't used the crimper yet but I didn't buy it for that, I already have a crimper that works well. I tried the waver and that didn't work that great, but if your looking for a good straightner this is the one for you. :)
