Love It - Will Save Us Money!
We got a new puppy, and live in a small apartment. We spent over $60 buying different types of carpet cleaning agents that didn't seem to get all the little stains out, or left clean spots and made the rest of the carpet look dirty. We decided to invest in a carpet cleaner, but couldn't afford one of the heavy duty professional ones. We selected this model and decided that if it didn't do the job, we would return it. It did the job alright! This cleaner is as good as the heavy duty professional ones! It got out all of our pet stains and made the rest of our carpet look like new. Living in an apartment, we would have had to pay to have our carpets cleaned, and would have lost some of our deposit - but not now! We will have this cleaner for years to come and it will save us money in the long run!

Surprising Results for Such a Cheap Appliance!
I am new to do-it-yourself carpet cleaning and have always paid someone else to come and do it for me. But I recently bought my son a dog for his birthday (to add to our collection of 3 rabbits, 1 chinchilla, 1 hamster, 4 degus, 2 fish and a toddler) and we live in an apartment next to a river - this means lots of MUD and PET and FOOD messes on my carpet. Plus my son has allergies - dust mite. I bought this machine because I wanted to be able to clean my carpets whenever I want - not wait for an appointment and pay around $80 / cleaning! (And the carpet guys didn't even move my furniture for me!) Plus, when having every room cleaned at once, where am I supposed to move my furniture anyway? So I thought I'd try this and I LOVE it. My carpet is SO clean - it got old spots out and you should have seen the dirty water tank - YUCK! Totally easy to setup and use - I am cleaning the carpets every week now. (Seriously) It's almost fun! I recommend the Bissel carpet detergent in the green bottle - the allergy stuff with Scotchguard. It works great and smells nice, without being too strong. Strong smells are bad for people with allergies. They even give you a free bottle to try in the box with the machine. How nice. Now I sound like I work for Bissel - which I don't - but I am just so happy that for once, I got MORE than I paid for. Thank you, Bissel. I am so happy with my purchase - I am going to tell everybody I know about this.

Great little cleaner
Compared to those complicated steam cleaners that require Arnold Schwarzenegger to move, this is a dream come true! Cleans well, although the small tanks make frequent filling/emptying necessary, it does a great job and is much less expensive than hiring a company to come in. Five stars!

Great product with one caveat.
I, and what is much more important my daughter, really love this device (it's just so much more then just a toy). It really vacuums and it is doing this reasonably well. It's very easy to start and stop and overall very straighforward to use. The only shortcoming is that battery lasts roughly one hour of work. This by itself is ok but to charge this battery takes almost twenty four hours. So sometime when it is needed the most battery is expired and there is no way to quickly recharge it (which could cause child' frustration). Still, great device that makes children to feel that they really help their parents to do a housekeeping.

Shockingly Strong yet Light and Fun, too
The Bissell Go•Vac greatly exceeded my expectations of a stick vacuum.

First of all, I enjoy the fact that it's cordless and rechargable. Its cordless design makes it very easy to reach under furniture, and to go from room to room without the hassle of cords being caught around corners, coming loose from the wall, etc.

I found myself actually *enjoying* vacuuming with this vacuum! Froot-Loops crunched into the carpet? Zoom. Get the Go•Vac. Dryer lint in the hall? Go•Vac. Dirt dragged in from the backyard? Go•Vac sucks it all up! With its detachable handle, it's easy to use even in the car!

This vacuum went instantly from carpet to hardwood floors to linoleum and did a very thorough job.

I ***highly*** recommend this product for families, students, and even kids, as its lightweight design will encourage even young kids to care for their own living space. While it may not replace a full-size vacuum, it will definitely be a great asset to your cleaning equipment and will absolutely help maintain a clean 'look' between cleanings. 5 minutes before company arrives? Whip out the Go•Vac and your home instantly looks much, MUCH cleaner!

The only caveats to this glowing review: 12 minute vacuuming time limit and no notification when the charging cycle is complete.

GREAT LITTLE UNIT
I got this after seeing it in my "gold box" and reading the reviews. I was intrigued by the cordless feature, thinking this would be a handy little unit to use on our pontoon boat carpeting. I always worried about getting electrocuted from the a power cord going over water while using a standard vacuum. Anyway, this little thing really does the job. I was shocked.
Yes, you have to empty the collection cup every few minutes... but that's because it's doing such a fantastic job. I have 4 shorthaired dogs....and I am amazed at how it picks up the hair. My big vacuum doesnt do as good a job!!! It's light, completely portable and works quite well. The one problem I think some of the others ran into is that this battery DOES HAVE A MEMORY. So, YOU CANT LEAVE IT PLUGGED INTO THE RECHARGER ALL THE TIME. You fully discharge it, then recharge it, and disconnect it from the wall. The manual is VERY CLEAR ABOUT THIS POINT.
Anyway, this item is meant to be a toy for kids, but for quick clean ups, or for those who are disabled and cant manage a heavy vacuum, this is perfect. I love mine.

Beware: Long term test results
... After only two years my Pro Heat Bissell's water pump just stopped pumping the water/cleaner solution. I would expect more from a model this expensive. We only have a few carpeted rooms in the house, most are hardwood, and we did not use the cleaner THAT much. I would look at other brands for better reliability. Also: When it DID work, it leaked on the floor when not in use! Steer clear of this lemon.

Stain Solver!
My husband and I recently bought a house with carpet that looked like it had never been cleaned. We didn't have the money to replace the carpet, so we decided to buy a cleaner and do it ourselves. After careful consideration, we decided to purchase this Bissell Proheat. What a fantastic machine. The carpet almost looks new and the house smells great. It is very easy to use and you can even clean your couch or chair with the tools. I would recommend this machine to anyone who is not happy with the cleanliness or appearance of their carpets.

Great machine, wonder how I did without it!!
We bought this carpet cleaner because it was necessary for out warranty on our 1 year old carpet. Either clean with this cleaner once a year, or have it professionally done every two years. I had used the Hoover deep cleaner before, so was a little leary about buying this one. Assembly was easy, 4 screws and that was it. How's that for simple?? Did my 3 younger kids bedroom first, ages 4, 3, and 9 mths. It was a breeze. Not having to "measure" the cleaning solution was great, pour it in the reservoir, and your done. Did my stairs next with the hand attachment. Really easy, flip the switch for the hand tools, and it prevents it from running the roller bar. I next used it on my living room. I was going to wait until the kids went to bed that night, but my 3 year old took his ravioli in the living room, and the 9mth old ground it into the carpet. Used a little pretreatment solution, let it sit for 5 minutes, and whalla, it was gone. I was hesitant that the floors would be wet for quite a while. This machine is great with sucking the water out of the carpet. It was dry in less that 2 hours!! WOW. I also liked the water only feature. If you do happen to get to much foaming in the carpet, just switch to the water only, to dilute it, and suck it up. You do have to empty the cleaning solution from the reservoir and replace with water to use that feature, but over all very very simple and fast to use. Did all these rooms in less that 2 1/2 hours!! One little con, it does leave a little puddle of water if left on the floor not being used, and full of water, but I haven't seen a deep carpet cleaner that doesn't do this yet. Wish I would have bought this one sooner!!

Stop! don't buy this product
Bought it, used it once, next time I pulled it out of the closet it didn't work, no spray from the bottom. Went to the authorized repair man, he told me I bought the worst machine Bissell ever made. He wanted to charge me $85.00 to repair the heater. I figured I would cut my loses and not get it repaired. Glad i read the other reviews it seems like others had the same problem.
Regarding the attachments. be careful if you have the attachments stored on the back incorrectly the sprayer button gets pushed and it sprays everywhere. Yes the sprayer on the attachments work. Stay away from this machine

Cleans well, not very durable
Putting together the machine and reading the instructions took a bit longer than I thought. The bucket with the dirty water is a snap to remove and insert, but the lid comes off too easily. you have to hold it from the bottom rather than the top or else the whole bucket might fall, dumping out the dirty water all over (this happened to me once). The internal bladder that separates the clean and dirty water is a neat idea, but i found it a little hard to clean, epsecially since their is no sturdy handle once the lid is gone. The separate cleaning solution container is good but it is hard to screw it on so it wont leak. There was a spot on my bedroom floor that stayed sticky for days after a whole bottle of solution leaked out. On the third day we had this machine, the roller brush broke off without a good reason.

On the upside, it was worth the labor at least. This machine left our carpet cleaner and our house smelling fresher. The carpets didnt take very long to dry and its always nice to see how dirty the water is. The bottom part of the machine is easily cleant by swiping a paper towel across it. The extra attachments are wonderful and very useful. It most definetly keeps the water hot, but when the carpet is so warm you cant tell how dry it is. We got this cleaner from Costco, where you get a free hand steamer which is very cool.

Bottom line is that it served its purpose for our one round of cleaning. We returned it and next time I think I am going to go for a Hoover model since our Hoover vacuum cleaner has done such a great job.

Awesome Carpet Cleaner
I hesitated buying a carpet cleaner but after spending [money] every 4 months for professional cleaning (I live in a 2-story house), I broke down and bought it. I couldn't believe how clean it got my carpet not to mention how easy it is to use. I have grandchildren that have spilled just about everything you can imagine on my carpet. This machine got every stain out. Buy it. It is well worth the investment. I could kick myself for not buying it sooner.

disappointed
While the sweeper does do an excellent job of sweeping up everything on the kitchen floor, the next time you use it it dumps most of the debris back on the floor. I have tried emptying the containers, rolling and using the comb to clean the bottom. No luck. It still dumps dirt on the floor at the beginning of each use. You then have to sweep over the pile several times to get it picked up again. The handle also has come apart but that I can live with. The base of the unit is a large square and even though I have a large floor it would be more useful if it was smaller and more rectangular. If you have a small kitchen floor that is not an open rectangle for cleaning the size may be a problem. I should probably have sent it back since it is more work to clean with it. But I keep hoping I can figure out why it is dumping debris. If I could get it to stop doing it it would be useful.

Good and Bad points
I've had this sweeper for a few years now and have found this to be a usefull product for quick pick up after meals in the dining room(with a messy pre-schooler and toddler) and as a good quick brush up between vacuumings. While this doesn't replace a vacuum cleaner by any means, it does a decent job for it's purpose. The pockets in which mess is deposited are easy to flip to dump in the trash. This pickes up rice, cheerios, bits of paper, some dirt, cracker crumbs, ect prety well. Don't expect it to get anything *in* the carpet fibers.

However, it has not stood up well with use. The two roller brushes which pick up stuff fall out often now since the plastic sides of the sweeper have become warped. The rollers are held in by a simple tab in hole design, and this is rather flimsy. Because of this, I haven't been able to use it much since it developed this problem.

It still has it's use as a fun cleaning toy for my kids though. While I vacuum my 3yo son likes to use the sweeper to imitate me vacuuming. It's light enough that he can push it around with ease and practice saying "'scuse me peese" lol :-). So, for the investment which isn't too much, I got a usefull sweeper which held up for about a year, which could be graduated to a toy after it wore out.

WOW
THIS SWEEPER IS WONDERFUL.
I HAVE A VERY HAIRY DOG THAT SHEDS ALOT.IT'S WONDERFUL ON CARPET AND TILE. GREAT FOR THE MESSES DONE BY THE HUSBAND WHO INSISTS ON WHEARING HIS DIRTY OLD WORK BOOTS AND TRACK DIRT AND MUD ALL OVER THE HOUSE, AND EVEN GREAT FOR KIDS WHO LOVE EATING WHILE THEY'RE WALKING ALL AROUND THE HOUSE. BOTH MY KIDS 3 & 5 LOVE SEEING CRUMBS ON THE FLOOR, AND CLEANING THEIR OWN MESSES. I LOVE IT. GREAT CHRISTMAS PRESENTS.

This product literally stinks
Picked this up from Costco, who I usually trust to have great quality products, to replace a smaller and even less effective hand-held "little Green Machine." The biggest and nastiest problem is that I use it to clean up urine messes made my my 12-yr. old dog and it now wreaks of dog urine. No matter how I clean it stinks so bad I have to keep it in the garage. The sprayer now just makes litle piddles on the carpet (have owned about 1 yr.) as hardly any water comes out. The suction head always got clogged with dog hair and was a pain to clean. The head would also leak out dirty water (right back on to the carpet I just cleaned) if I didn't hold the head upright before I turned off the vaccuum. And it left the carpets so wet that I got darkening from mildew a couple of times.

Super Convenient
This was the best purchase I have made in a long time. It works so much better than I had expected. I have two young kids (4 years, 7 months) and a Golden Retriever, so you can imagine how many spills take place at my house. The Turbo Brush really works great on muddy paw prints and spilled juice. I also use it to clean all the accidents that happen in my car. It is very easy to use (just add cleaning solution to the clean water and you're ready to go). It also heats the water/cleaning solution for better cleaning. This is a must have for everyone with kids or pets. I have owned other brands of cleaners before, but from here on out - I am a Bissell Buyer!

Couldn't live without it!
We own both the upright Bissell and the Little Green, and use them semi-regularly. I'll admit to being a little obsessive about clean carpet and upholstery, but owning these products makes it easy to keep the carpet of our one year-old home looking great (and has extended the lifespan of our old sofas). The Little Green is perfect for use on small floor messes, the stairs, and couch. Our daughter turned two in October, and, thanks to this machine, we have survived spilled coffee, Children's Advil, soda, juices of all colors, chocolate, and shoeprints-- pretty much anything she can dump out or track in, this product can clean up! The full-sized Bissell is great for steam-cleaning entire rooms, but it's too hard to lug up and down the stairs. If you have a two story home, you may want to consider this hand-held canister cleaner for convenience purposes. It's easy to carry and has an extra-long cord, to boot!

not well made
Although it seemed to work well for a few months, the plastic front (liquid) casing cracked overtime(out of warranty of course) so now it leaks everytime I use it. And just recently the battery has gone. Not easy to replace or cheap. Yes it did work well for the 1st year, but should have worked much longer.

Absolute Must Have Product
We have 2 kids and an older cat who yaks up onto the carpet from time to time. We have a large steam cleaner that we use maybe once per year. The Spot Lifter is great for quickly getting up spills before they become stains. The Bissell cleaner is OK but 90% of the time hot water is fine. Speed is everything in getting red wine or other difficult spills out. The Bissell is fast to prepare and can be soaking up spills before you've untangled the cord on a large steam cleaner. We leave ours charging between uses and have never had a battery life issue. If you can't get it cleaned up in 2 or 3 fills of cleaning fluid, call the professionals or use a larger machine for the entire room. This thing wasn't designed to clean a room. I can clean the seats and carpet on my station wagon on a single charge. I've recommended them to many of my friends with children and pets. They have reported similar results.

Wonderful on cat messes!
The bissell spot lifter is a must have if you have cats (or kids). It does a great job on little spots like spilled juice or cat puke. I have been amazed by what this little thing will pick up. Even that nasty yellow hair ball puke. Gone! I use woolite carpet cleaner spray with mine. I spray the spot let it sit a minute and then use the bissel to wet the spot and suck up the mess. It works wonders and I don't have to measure carpet cleaner each time I use it.

I have found that I can get 2 or 3 cleanings out of a recharge. I don't leave it plugged in and I haven't had any problems. I just plug it in when it starts to get low on sucking power and then I'm good for another couple weeks.

I would recomend it to anyone and just bought one for a wedding shower gift. They are great!

Don't Buy It
I bought the Bissell Spotlifter Powerbrush and had the same problems mentioned in other reviews. It is a very poorly designed product with almost no suction and poor spray. I contacted Bissell and they sent me another one that doesn't work either.

No suction
The Bissell does a good job of removing the stain however I have used this several times and still have practically no dirty water in the resevoir. Leaves carpet wet. Not enough suction. Try another product.

Not as bad as all the reviews say!
I bought this Bissell Spotlifter a few weeks ago. I chose this one because I only needed it for the occassional pet stain or baby food spill. It works great for me! I immediately put it to work and it got stains out that had been in my carpet for months! I do see how people could complain some about the suction but I think it gets most of the dirty water up fine. It took me a while to decide between this one and the more expensive "Little Green" and I think I made the right decision. I'm sure the other one is better, but it's also almost as expensive as an upright and this one gets the job done just fine. This is a good little cleaner for the money.
