Best vacum for the price
This vacum was rated the best vacum for the price by 'a major conusmer reporting magazine'....thats why i bought it.
I have to agree with them, it is the best vacum around, and its only about $100.
The only problem with it is, the bags fill up quickly and the belts break about every 6 months...so i highly suggest you find a website which selss the bags and belts and stock up.
But whatever you do, do-not go to any store that sells vacums and sewing machines only, those places will ripe you off, they sell the belts for 10x more than other stores or the web.

Wow!
One of the things that I never planned on doing is writing a review of a sweeper.
This thing is tremendous. It was downright scary how much it got out of my rugs that the ol' Dirt Devil didn't. It's comfortable to use, glides well, and is very quiet. There are a couple of things that could be done better...the hose should be longer and it would be nice if one of the cord wrap hooks rotated so that you could drop the cord off instead of unwinding it.
I now understand why someone would pay $$$ for a one of these things. Gald I didn't have to.

Good News This Vacuum Really Sucks!
After reading another review I vacuumed my carpet with my 2 year old Hoover then with the Eureka. It was just a short hallway so it was easy to make sure I was very thorough. It is amazing how much more stuff the Eureka picked up from my freshly vacuumed carpet. The next test was to try the Eureka on my mini-blinds to check out the attachments. It really has a lot of suction with the hose and attachments. This was a great purchase!

A BMW - or Maybe a Mercedes - of a Vacuum Cleaner
Spectacular bargain! The one I got seemed perfectly new. No wear, dirt from use, it had new packaging, owner manual, warranty, etc. And it works like a dream. It is powerful, quiet and maneuverable, although not a lightweight. It vacuums bare floors and carpet of varying length with great effectiveness. I still had my old Hoover and vacuumed a test patch. The Eureka followed it and brought up a whole lot more grit, lint and dog hair. Another plus is that you do not get the characteristic smell of vacuuming; the filters take care of that perfectly.

Is there a bad side? Not really. It shares the characteristic of cup-type dirt collectors. You can see the collection cup through the plastic case easily. It is not difficult to remove, but is sealed very well so no dust escapes. But when you dump the cup, a mushroom cloud of dust naturally billows up, so you do not want to empty it in the house. This is annoyance, but intrinsic to the cup-collector type of design. Above the cup is a pleated paper filter. This gets covered with lint and hair and filled with fine, flour-like dust. You must take this outside, pick off the hairballs and clap it like an eraser. You get clouds of fine dust from this operation, of course, and must plan accordingly. Better be upwind for these operations so you get no blow-back, but not near a window, door or your newly-washed parked car. Every six months, you also will need to change the genuine HEPA filter, which will cost you a few bucks.

In summary, if you buy this vacuum cleaner, you will be pleased with the performance and the outstanding bargain. You must be prepared; however, to deal with the effort in dealing with the comprehensive filter system that gives you the remarkable cleaning ability of this machine.

Nice inexpensive bagless vacuum cleaner
If you're looking for an inexpensive bagless, this one is great. My Owner's Guide is for the 4380-4480, so I'm not exactly sure which one I have. I don't have a headlight, so I'm leaning towards the 4380.

I've always been very found of a bagless cleaner versus their bagged counterparts, however, if you want a fantastic bagless, this isn't it. Don't get me wrong, it was worth every penny I paid, however, there are a few drawbacks. The most annoying ones are that the extra extension is supported at the bottom of the cleaner by a small tab. It is very easy to bump this with your foot when turning the unit off and on and also while cleaning, causing the extension to fall off. Also, the dirt cup comes off rather easily, but doesn't go back on quite as well. You must make sure that you have the top hinge seated precisly before the bottom clip will go into place. I have found that the only way I can get the clip to click back into place is to literally slam the cup into place. I've only been using the cleaner for about 4 months and only the upstairs portion of my house, so I'm not sure how many more times I will be able to slam the cup into place before the clip breaks. The dirt cup also has a hinged flap that opens when emptying, so be careful and open it manually instead of letting it fly open on it's own, as this can make a mess.

Other than those items I mentioned, is seems to clean rather well, is light and manuevers easily. I got mine on sale at WalMart for only $49. I don't know that I would have paid much more for it, though.

It was worth the money!!!!!!
It was much more than I thought I was getting for the money. Cleans great with all the power of those $200 models.

Eurekaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!
This vacuum is incredible. I give it 6 stars. It cleaned dirt and dust from my carpet that my old vacuum never touched. The suction power is hard to believe. It is light and easy to maneuver, and the design is excellent. It took me about 30 seconds to assemble from the box, and then I was cleaning. The real proof was when I used it to clean my oriental rugs. It picked up every bit of dirt, and left them immaculate.

Gets the crud!
I needed a new vac, and frankly bought this one because it was a good deal and had decent reviews.I am SO HAPPY with this machine. My daughter is very allergic to dust and we also have 4 cats...I had spent the day before my new vac arrived cleaning her room literally from ceiling to floor for 2 1/2 hours. When my new yellow friend arrived, I thought I'd see how good it was and re-did her floor. I was amazed at what it collected, and with the fact that nothing blows back out into the room. My carpets are only a year old, but never looked "freshly vacumed". They do now, and the fluff and clean stays for days instead of hours.
Plus, this puppy goes completely flat to clean under tables, etc and the back saver handle really does make a difference ( I have 6 herniated discs in my spine and usually suffer a lot when I
vacume.) Do not hesitate if you are thinking of purchasing this machine. It is an incredible deal.

No wonder my house didn't smell clean!
Like others who are uncertain aobut purchasing reconditioned items...I was a little reluctant too. BUT.... WOW..... What a great product! My vacuum came in just 2 days! I pride myself on keeping a clean house, but have been disturbed because I couldn't quite eliminate an odor that I could smell as soon as I walked in the front door. When my Eureka arrived, MY 12 year old daughter put it together (I was at work). When I got home we vacuumed the livingroom and hallway! YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT IT PICKED UP! So we vacuumed twice and still got more crud. The vacuum is simply unbelievable! AND GUESS WHAT? SURPRISE, SURPRISE...NO MORE BAD ODORS IN MY HOUSE!!!

Does everything and then some.....just a little heavy
I like everything about this vacuum except that it's a little heavy to lift up stairs but I chalk that up to good excercise. I've had this vacuum for over a year now and I'm very pleased with it. Nothing has broken, stopped working, cracked etc. It definitely sucks up the dirt and then some and is so EASY to empty. I'll never be without a bagless vacuum again! This one has all the gadgets I need to keep my carpets clean.
