Dangerously powerful...
I have been intrigued by the info-mercials for similar models, and decided to take a chance with this low-priced unit. Wow, did I do well! I have a heavily shedding dog, and was looking for something to help me clean without hauling out my big rig. The box states that it has "33% more suction than the Euro-Pro Shark-Vac" and I was sceptical. But when I turned the unit on, It had so much power that it literally twisted, hard, in my hand before it "stabilized". I love it! Picture a motor that to me seems roughly five times more powerful than a "blow dry" hair-dryer. The thing sounds like it's going to blast off, and it's only the size of a small loaf of bread! I bought it mostly so that I could do my stairs, and find that I am yanking out loose fibers in the corners, an OK thing for my older carpet, I've found. Forget about other units with rotary brushes which I've owned in the past, with this much power, you just don't need them. I do believe that this Dirt Devil is possibly mimicking a design of some other company but as far as I'm concerned, they may have the best one on the market.

Best Hand Vac Ever
Let me just say that this is really the most powerful hand vac that I have ever used. Have you ever owned a "Dustbuster" or other similiar hand vac? Ever feel like the motors spinning and making noise, but all you're doing is pushing the dust around?

Not with this monster. The motor is so powerful that if you hold your arm out straight out in front of you and twist your wrist while holding the vacuum, you can feel it "pushing" back against you! It's able to REALLY pick stuff up, unlike those old fashioned wimpy hand vacs.

This is a corded vac, but the cord is so long that I really don't mind. Plus, there is no way you can get this kind of power from a cordless vac. Ergonomically, the football shape/size and the shoulder strap make this very easy to carry around while using the 2 foot extension tube to get to those corners and edges. The brush attachment is perfect for my couch, little area rugs, and bath mats. No more hair in the bathroom!

The only downside is that you need to be careful which way you hold the vac if you're not using the extension tube. If you're not careful, you can inadvertantly direct the exhaust air (with your leg or body) towards the stuff you're trying to suck up.

The Best Portable Vacuum Cleaner (Aspiradora) For The Money
I was tired of portable cordless vacuum cleaners (aspiradoras) that had little suction and short battery life, so I decided to try the Dirt Devil 8200 Corded Hand Vac, and couldn't be happier with it. The biggest thing that I need a compact vacuum for is cleaning stairs and floors near wall junctions. The Scorpion handles everything well, and is a giant improvement over cordless hand vacuums.

I was leery of the Scorpion until I tried it myself, and can now personally testify to its power. It is a very inexpensive vacuum, and I wish now that I had purchased it earlier. It has a 16 foot cord, so it is almost always in comfortable range of an outlet, it has a 2 1/2 foot hose extension, crevice tool, and upholstery brush, which it makes it multi-dimensionally useful, as does the unique triangular nozzle which is great for cleaning corners. My only minor quibble with the design is that the exhaust air stream is baffled out the sides of the unit at an angle that can occasionally push light debris (like cat litter) out of the path of intended vacuuming, which is a bit annoying. I resolved that issue by employing less frenetic vacuuming motions and going slower over areas with plentiful lightweight vacuum fodder.

The ad copy on the Amazon site says it can pick up a 16 pound bowling ball, but the box shows the vacuum picking up a 275 pound refrigerator! Now call me a skeptic, but I am a bit dubious about that claim, although in all fairness to Dirt Devil, I have not personally attempted to lift my fridge with the Scorpion, so I could be wrong. Otherwise I haven't found anything that can't be vacuumed with my Scorpion! Highly recommended.

Dirt Devil is an Angel!
My main reason for purchasing the Dirt Devil Platinum Force was to remove unwanted cat hair from every single piece of furniture in my house.

The dirt devil came through! It removed the pet hair plus all the other dust particles i didn't even know were there.

I would recommend this to anyone! .. Very, very powerful vacuum.

One warning: It is very loud. But that's because of the power.

More then one could describe....
I can't begin to tell you how wonderful this little machine is! It picks up pet air like no other machine that I bought! I have been shopping for over a year now going through multiple products before I finally came across this one. I read a review about how it picked up pet hair and I thought that I should give it one lat shot. I have had my Dirt Devil now for a few months. It comes in handy. I spilled a can full of screws, I emptied the Bagless compartment... and sucked them up and dumped them back into the can. Like I said before I have been through about 6 other hand vacs that said they were about like this one, but none of them stood up to what they stated. This machine however has went above and beyond. It is a little noisy but not nearly as noisy as other Vacs I've tried or what I thought it was going to be. Also the ability to detach the hose and use the attachement was very useful. I could get into small places with this feature. I hope this helps! It was worth my investment!

Goodbye dog hair!
I only ordered this product because it showed up in my Amazon Gold Box, and I thought it would be handy to own. It showed up a few days ago, only hours after I'd used the attachment on my upright vacuum to clean my stairs. My large vacuum is brand new and very nice... I always thought it did a pretty good job on the stairs. That's why I was so amazed with this little vacuum! It managed to suck up a grapefruit sized fur-ball by the time I was finished re-vacuuming the stairs with it. Amazed, I took on the couch and chairs in the living room, where it seemed to suck dust right out of the cushions, and again it removed more dog hair than I could actually see...

I've used this little tool a fair bit since I got it - as we're in the process of moving now and It's come in very handy at cleaning those little spots where lugging the big vacuum around would be a pain. I'd highly recommend this product over any of the rechargeable models on the market, due to it's highly useful power.

Not as good as it looks
This was a great vacuum for the first month. It is true that the spinning brush helps pick up dirt. But what they don't tell you is that after a few uses it is virtually impossible to remove the dirt that gets embedded in the brush which hampers its use. It is very noisy so you'll need a pair of ear plugs. Also, the only way to do corners is to remove the motorized sweeper portion. This requires removing a plug that is an awkward place. Wear gloves when you do this or you will draw blood from your nuckles as I've done. The attachments are useless so you will need to use the hose without any attachments to get into corners and baseboards. The motorized sweeper doesn't work on bare floors. You can turn off the motor but it doesn't pick up much. When the motor is on, I end up chasing dust across the floor. The dust always wins. I have to use the hose without any attachments on the floor. A real back breaker. Also, you want to be very careful when emptying the canister. Dust will fly everywhere because not everything is trapped in the compartment. Needless to say, I'm looking for a new vacuum cleaner.

Vision canister is wonderful!
We've always owned uprights. This time I went searching on the internet for one -- looked at Eureka and Hoover, but settled on this wonderful canister for our house instead. It's got it all for less money: powerful (12 amps), bagless (you can see the dirt getting sucked in), lightwieight, quiet, hepa filter, quality build, variable speed control, retracting cord, works on carpet (powered brush) and hard floors, great price. It looks cool too. We opened it and immediately vacuumed the house and furniture, etc. We pulled up much more animal hair and misc. fluffies than our old powered eurka upright. I was sold right off when I could vacuum under the couch and bed -- without even moving them! It goes where no upright can go and is much lighter. It a very powerful 12 amp unit with lots of attachments right in the base of the unit (not on the wand like some Eureka's). We got lots of tools with it, including an extra hard floor tool. The powered brush head is nice because it has a separate foot button (separate from main power) so you can quickly turn the brush off and on as needed. Great product!!

SUPER VACUUM
Believe it or not, but this is the 3rd Dirt Devil 082600 Vision Canister Vac I have purchased thru Amazon!!! So, I must be 100% satisfied with it.It is a super vac, great power, easy to change the floor attachment to the carpet attachment and easy to empty the bagless canister. My husband even commented how good a vac it is, so I bought one for the garage and basement for him !!!! It is a heavy unit so I am leaving one up and on the main level of our home. It has a long cord so using it on the steps is not a problem.I love it and recommend to all!! For the price it is the best vacuum on the market today, believe me, I have tried the other brands and this is the best!!

Excellent vacuum !
This is the best vacuum I've had yet for hard wood floors. I have 1 child, 2 cats ,a dog and a bird and it literally was a breeze on all of their mess, such as candy wrappers, hair, cat litter and seeds. We have a large townhouse and I could do the first-floor and steps without having to replug somewhere else. The dirt canister is larger than I thought it would be and the suction was great! It's also very easy to clean. It is lightweight and easy to handle and the micro-fresh filter only needs to be replaced 2 times a year ... (Now that makes me breathe easy). The only thing I can come up with that I would change on this vac is that it does not have a retractable cord.

Great for hard wood floors and tile! (Not for carpet)
The perfect vacuum in this price range for hardwood floors and tile. Great design, long power cord, light (so it's easy to actually carry around, vs. dragging on the floor). Comes with handy attachments for getting into nooks and crannies.

Although I rated it 5 stars, this is NOT the vacuum for you if you have rugs or carpet. There is no "spinning brush" on this vacuum, so moving it across carpet is difficult and won't clean nearly as well as a vacuum designed for that purpose. Otherwise, I couldn't be happier with it.

Light weight easy to use with powerful suction
This is the greatest little vacuum that I have used in a long time. It does wonderful job of sucking up pet hair, fir needles, lint, and dirt in no time. The attachments are conveniently placed on the hose wand for the small jobs that come along as you are tackling the hardwood, laminate, tile, and linoleum floors. The Dirt Devil Breeze is the perfect vacuum for use in cleaning the furniture, RV, auto, and home. I highly recommend it.

best purchase!
...It is one of the best purchases I've ever made! After my SO brought home two shedding-machine kitties, my furniture was covered in a layer of hair that my big vaccuum couldn't handle. I got the Dirt Devil, and the rotating brush pulled up every last strand of it! I bought it in December and my 7-yr old daughter, whose chore had been to vaccuum the couch, promptly deemed it her "favorite Christmas present ever". She loves using it, and I never have to prompt her to clean.

I previously had an old Dustbuster, and it turned me off to hand-vacs. I purchased this one only because I found it on sale. I've never regretted it-- it makes an easy job out of even the hairiest messes.

For animal hair pick up, this can't be beat.
I have used my Dirt Devel for years (along with Dust Busters and Hoovers). I like the fact that it is noisy; I know it is working hard. I know it works well because the bag fills up faster than any other vacuum appliance I own. And nothing surpasses it for getting the dog hair off the furniture. The fact that you don't have to use paper bags, but can just empty out the cloth bag over and over and over (Less than $7.00 to replace) is a money and time saver.

Wonderful Product
This is the best hand vac you can get. It has more power & suction for picking up pet hair, etc. than any I have tried. You can't go wrong & the price is right.

Piece of Junk Product
Bought four of these because I like their floor heaters and expected a good product. The usage on all four combined is less than a few hours. They don't hold a charge. They don't have good suction. They are heavy, and now two of them do not even work. I have asked Delongi for my money back or replace them with something of quality. By first thought was to throw them in the trash, but I did pay about $140 for the four of them including shipping.

It stopped working after only 8 months!
I thought I was going hi-tech getting this thing, but I'm back to using the low-end, no-name brand I thought I was replacing. I hardly used it, but in just a few months it went dead on me, although it says the battery is charged. I can't find the warranty, if there was one, and they have no website (though a page says, not in English, one is under construction) so I guess I'll just have to throw it out and buy something else.

pleased
so pleased that i'm now buying a second one for my vacation home

"Ultra power".....haha, that's a joke.
If only we had went online and look at these reviews before buying this little monster, we would ALL be a happier family. Not only is this thing LOUD, it SHRIEKS. I've gotten headaches from using this thing. And the suction power doesn't make up for it at all. I've had to pick up some pretty obvious dirt bits, while it just glides over/pushes it around. The hot air being blown in your face is also extremely unpleasent. Try being in a car in the middle of June with a furnace blowing in your face. The only thing you'll be happy with is the nice definition in your arm after having to carry this thing around. It's a work-out and a chore at the same time! The cord is also a complete hassle to roll up. So much so, we just throw it in the closet in a bundle. My mom even does this, and she folds socks....

Forget it for stairs!
I bought this item for vacuuming the stairs and it doesn't pick up any visible dirt. It's noisy too.

Greatest portable vaccum
This vaccum is excellent. This is the only vaccum that has rotar brush which is not rotating by air, instead via the motor of vaccum. it uses belt for rotating the brush. i have self propel wind tunnel and the brush attachment stop if you press hard on the carpet, but his vaccum brush rotates no matter how hard you press on carpet floor. It uses bags which i love, since cleaning bagless is painful. especially watching all the dirt coming out---- what a mess. it has powerfull engine. Also very affordable.
