Great Cleaner for the Price
I was ready to be impressed, and I wasn't disappointedIt arrived yesterday and I immediately set out to use it. I was pleased to see that it was substantially assembled -- I only had to put in four screws to attach the handle to the body of the shampooer. The assembly and operating instructions were easy to read and follow. I was shampooing my carpet within 20 minutes after UPS delivered the package.
I was amazed with the results I got. When I emptied the dirty water tank into the sink, I couldn't believe how much crud had been extracted from the carpet! I wrestled it upstairs (it's heavy) to clean my bedroom and upstairs hallway carpet, and again, I was duly impressed. This did a better job than professional carpet cleaners and for the very reasonable price of [money], just a little more than what I paid last year for professional cleaning. My carpets really look rejuvenated. Before considering the Platinum Force, I was looking at carpet cleaners that were about [price]. I was pleased to learn that I could get excellent results for half the money.

Better to buy a handheldI find the brush on the main part does not work well in getting up deep dirt and grime so I am constantly on my hands and knees using the attachment. Also, once you start the cleaning you have to finish it all right then since this unit does not heat itself. You can't set it up and then run answer the phone or run another errand because when you get back the water has cooled and cool or cold water doesn't work in heavy cleaning. This waste the cleaner you are using which can add up if you need it a lot.
I also have trouble with the cat hair getting stuck in the tiny slit of an opening that sucks in the water and can't get anything down into the corners to get it out. This cleaner is easy to store and does tear down easy to clean and doesn't have many parts to clean but the far edges or corners I can't seem to get clean. I need to use it almost every other day since I have 3 cats and it has become a real hassle so that I am now going to go buy a handheld one that can be used with less cleaner and for small purposes. I am very dissappointed that I did not do more research on this machine before I bought it because I was trying to save a buck and thought it would be fine for what I wanted it for.
After using this for 9 months I feel that I need a heavy duty one that has a heating unit for all over and a little handheld one for those quick clean ups after a sick cat or when they bring me earthworms or other dirty creatures. If your main goal is to do a quick clean up on small spots the handhelds are half the price, easier to store and set up and uses less cleaner for the short job. If you want to clean your whole house then go get a heavy duty one with a good brush system and heating unit.
The main positive points are it is easy to store, lightweight to use and tears down easy for cleaning it. The main negative points are it doesn't work well for all over and no heating unit.

Poor DesignBottom Line - I do not recommend this sweeper!
Poor design, poor Customer Service
Very Pleased with this Sucker!I love this vacuum. I had no problem with the canister issue that I have read about by others. I have two bedrooms, a living room, and a dining room to vacuum and I can do it usually without having to empty the canister until the end. As far as I am concerned, I am glad to fill the canister, because it means that the dirt, hair, dust, and etc. is no longer laying on my floor! Even if I have to empty every once in a while in the middle of cleaning, at least I don't have to worry about running out of bags in the middle of cleaning!
I haven't had a problem with the belt yet. I do believe that if you are having a problem with the belt burning so quickly, it could be the result of the height setting being set too low. This would cause constant added resistance to the belt causing the belt to overheat and melt.
The auto-drive did take some getting used to, but I like it now. It makes the vacuum feel a little lighter than it is while your vacuuming. The good thing is the feature can be turned off if you can not get used to it.
This is the best vacuum I have ever used on pet hair. The hand tool works wonderfully, but it is operated with a very small belt that I have not had to change yet. I have never had a hand tool that gets pet hair out of upholstery; I usually use a wet cloth of some type, but I no longer have to do that.
I am very impressed with everything about the vacuum. I have since referred it to my mother and my grandmother and they both bought one today so we will see if they encounter any problems with theirs.
I hope that helps. Good luck with whichever you choose!
