Dont let the small size fool you this vacuum has whole lot of suction more than any other vacuum i've used.super quiet.only downside to this unit is the small bags that it uses,other than that i could'nt be happier.highly recomend

Its a very average unit that does not have a retractable power cord.

The Good
It does its job and is light to move around.

The Bad
The hose does get tangled up very easily much like a cheap garden hose. And again, NO RETRACTABLE POWER CORD.

Just received this vacuum today & it is the best I have ever used in 26 years. Absolutely beats out my central vacuum system!! Takes up ALL the dog hair, I cannot emphasize that enough.My rugs look great and so do the hard floors. Handles very easily, rolls itself along, you only need to guide it. Great price, quick shipment, I couldn't be happier.

Used by a cleaning service in the homes of executives and professionals, very fussy customers. Great power and easy to use. Have used 6800 series canisters for 8+ years, and will continue to do so.

I was excited to get a new vacuum after putting up with one on its last legs for awhile. This vacuum is light and quiet and dust free, however the connection to the rug attachment is already broken. It does not get the electrical connection and works off/on and currently all the way off.

I HATE vacuuming because it's so darn noisy! I purchsed this vacuum, because of the "quiet clean" feature, and is it ever! I can carry on a normal conversation while the vacuum is running, and it is quite powerful for a small machine. The vacuum bag is a little small, but other than that I am very please with the performance of this vacuum.

This vacuum is perfect for anyone who lives in a house with stairs -- no more awkwardly struggling to run a heavy upright vacuum across the steps, or worse, making a futile attempt to clean them with a crevice tool.

It is surprisingly lightweight and easy to use. I was afraid that it would not have as much suction as an upright, but found that it has as much or more. This vacuum is also a great value, costing less than half of the Miele, yet providing all the same functionality.

I bought this vacuum based on a recommendation from someone who cleans houses for a living -- she told me it's the strongest, most convenient, and most versatile vacuum she's ever used.

This is a horrible vaccum. Avoid at all costs. It won't pick up anything unless you use the hose. Extremely dissapointed in this "product." Had to buy another vaccum a month later this one was so bad... and it blows this thing away. ...

I spent more years selling cleaners than I care to admit. (20) I was a rep for Hoover, so, I've been around the block. This cleaner sells at a retail level for [$$$]. It cleans very well and the filtration is magnificant. East to use, clean and exceptionally quiet. I've recomended it to friends...and yes, they're still friends :)

I have only used this vaccume 3-4 times but on carpet and hard wood floors and it seems to work fine. I also bought it NEW not USED so that might make a difference.

I bought a similar model (Eureka 6983A/D) on Amazon and am totally disatisfied with it. The machine came without a model number sticker on it, which I didn't notice until I tried to get service covered under warranty. The vacuum broke brush roll belts from the second time I used it. The repairman told me I would have to clean the brush roll every time I use it to avoid having it melt solid again because the brush roll does not have a shield to protect it from dog hair and other materials one normally vacuums up. Eureka refused to replace the brush roll ($25.95) because I couldn't supply the model number sticker that they didn't put on my particular machine. I will never buy another Eureka vacuum!

I recently purchased the Eureka Canister Vacuum Model #6982D to replace another Eureka vacuum that was about 10 years old. The new vacuum has a much better powerhead than the original one and comes with power nozzle for the stairs as a bonus, no extra charge. The vacuum is so quiet and cleans my hardwood floors with ease. The floorhead seems to go in its own direction until you get the hang of the new swivel head. The new one also has suction adjusting that makes a big difference. This vaccum has been such a great change to the old version. The only drawback is that the electrical cord could be longer to keep from changing from room to room, also all of the vacuum is plastic not like the old one with the metal poles. I would rate this vacuum with 4 stars and a great buy, all other places had this for over $220.00. This was a great bargin. I feel that Eureka has always come through for me and I have had other brands. I vacuum every day because of our two dogs and this is so light and easy to use. The tools are on board except the floor noozle this you have to find a place for, the old one had a place for all of the other tools.. But over all a great vacuum.....

I liked this vacuum at first. It cleaned well when it worked. Here are my problems:

1. The canister easily overturns when trying to move around corners. It needs two swivel wheels or needs to be balanced better.

2. After a few months of use, the carpet attachment started to squeak from what sounded like the wheels. Annoying for a product that is only a few months old.

3. A few months later, only 6 short months after the unit was purchased, the carpet attachment quit. The brush won't turn because it is rubbing plastic on plastic. It is poorly constructed. It smells like burnt rubber when I try to use the carpet attachment. You will notice that the canister is made in Sweden but the wand and floor/carpet attachments are made in China. They should have spent a few more dollars and had the entire thing made in Sweden.

I can echo all of the same comments other users have about this vacuum. From the burning smell of the beater bar to the wallowing cannister to finding the special bags it all adds up to an expensive mistake. Why haven't appliance makers been able to "get it together" by now?
