Pretty impressive cordless vac. Have had several through the years and this is by far the best. The suction is great for cleaning up the small messes we make. We use the small crevice tool a lot for corners and edges. Haven't used the other attachment, so have no comment on that. So far, we highly recommend it.

Since I have mostly tile floors, I wanted a good canister vac that would be easier to "pull" around than my expensive upright. I finally decided on the Shark Euro-Pro Bagless vacuum. This vac claimed to have the most suction power and the filter was "tap" to clean. After receiving the vac and reading the manual, I found that there are actually three filters and all have to be replaced every so many months. There was no information on where to buy the filters. The vac does seem to have the power, but the manual states that the power will deminish if the filters are not cleaned/replaced properly. The clean-up of the filters is a time consuming job and must be done after each use. The vac comes with two floor tools (one powered). I use the power tool for all cleaning (tile and carpet). The way the floor tools swivel at the end of the wand makes getting into small places easy.

I selected this vacuum not even seeing a picture on the website, but it had the features I wanted and the price was right. When I received it, I was surprised at how light the box was. It's a nice, compact canister that moves around easily due to it's light weight and small size. You can even use the included strap to carry it on your shoulder. It does an excellent job on my hardwood floors and berber carpets! I love that it's bagless. The instructions say to tap the filter on the side of the trash can to get all the dust out, but i recommend doing this outside or all the dust will be airborn in the house. The HEPA filter is great, especially since I think my old vac blew as much dust into the air as it was taking in! Didn't sneeze once, which would've been typical before!

I have owned this vacuum cleaner for about two months now. I live in a 1 bedroom apt (~600 sq ft). about half of our floors are loop berber and the other half are hardwood. The vacuum works well on both floor types. It has great suction power and is easy to use (i.e. haul around, turn, pull, push etc). It comes with a bare floor and a "self propelled" carpet brush attachment which work adequately. The vacuum is neatly designed. Futuristic looking almost, and the silver plastic and blue look very industrial and modern to me.

Details:
The top of the vacuum cleaner lifts to reveal the dust collection canister, and two small attachments for upholstery and for corners/hard to reach places. The small attachments are somewhat difficult to use since they are very small and do not cover a large enough area of the upholstery or furniture you are cleaning... this has not been a problem for me thus far since all the cloth covered surfaces in my house are washable. I estimate with practice you could meticulously vacuum a whole couch in about 20 minutes (???).

The filters are the only part of the vacuum cleaner that are both a blessing and a curse. They are HEPA filters which is great for allergy sufferers (like myself). There are three filters, which WILL get clogged relatively soon depending on your conditions. When we were doing some repairs in a wall collecting the drywall dust clogged the vacuum cleaner in one day, but this is not what it was designed for anyway. Tapping the filters can be annoying as small dust specs inevitably escape. Washing them is very easy. I reccomend buying an extra set of filters which you can wash and have ready while the others are in use... you can then just switch and replace. Nothing is more annoying than finding out your vacuum cleaner has no power when you have mustered teh will power to clean.

All in all a great buy at this price. From other products I have seen it should be pretty durable.

I love this vacuum, easy to use, "no dust emisions". It has great suction (better than most) and the suction is adjustable. I love it, I can even use it on my computer and curtains because you can adjust the suction. It is fairly light weight but found if I carry it for a while the strap hurts my shoulder.
The only problems I had was the carry strap kept slipping up onto the hose, fixed that by putting a rubber band there so it would stop the slippage. The cord is too short!-- I have to use anextension or I have to stop and unplug it constantly. The floor attachment that has a beater bar does not work good at all. I don't use that attachment any more. It slows down too much when placed on the floor or furniture, even with good suction.
It's a great vacuum if you don't expect it to clean carpeting like an upright. I highly reccommend this machine..

I've owned the EP238 for a year now and have been really very happy with its performance and durability. It works extremely well on hardwood and ceramic floors and the "air powered" rotating brush attachment for denser carpets works like a charm. The attachments all work well and the adjustable suction control is really convenient when you're using the dusting brush. Best of all, it is quiet and easy to move around. Its only shortcoming is a short (17 ft) power cord. I'd buy another one without a moment of hesitation.

I cannot believe so many have had so much trouble with this vac. The last one I had lasted a good three years. And that was three years of daily use and abuse. I used it to clean floors and rugs. Cat hair and litter and every day dirt. It only died recently after the motor died. I cannot complain about this vac. I have bought many over the years, and this is the best one I have ever bought. Just my opinion and experience.

THIS HAS TO BE THE WORST PURCHASE I HAVE EVER MADE, IT HAS NO POWER AT ALL, AND GETS HOT REALLY FAST, IT'S OK FOR SMALL PLACES OR FAST PICK-UPS, BUT IT DOESN'T DO THE JOB I NEED DONE IN MY HOUSE, ANOTHER THING TO STORE IN THE SHED

I love this thing! I throw it over my shoulder and head down the stairs and continue from the carpeted areas to the hard wood floors without having to switch anything. My old Hoover (an upright) was great, but it was so bulky when it came to vacuuming the carpeted stairs. This is not bulky and there are no bags to worry about!

It's not for carpet. Don't even think about getting this to solve a dog hair problem unless you have hard floors only. However, for those pesky little corner jobs, window sills, light fixtures, inside drawers, it can't be beat. Very light weight but lots of sucking power. Here are some of the things it has taken care of:

1. Dead oriental lady bugs (the biting kind) in the window sill

2. Cobwebs and general ickiness from the track of the sliding door

3. a jar of little screws I knocked over and didn't have time to pick up by hand before company was arriving.

4. Cat litter (excellent job on this)

5. Dog food

This little vacuum and a good upright model should take care of most of your vacuuming needs.

I bought this product less than a year ago and it won't recognize a new bag. It is a piece of junk. Don't waste your money.

This has great suction but in my opinion is a cheaply made import. If the belts would not burn up so quickly, then I could give it a better review.(Mail order only) I have used a Hoover Wind Tunnel which was heavy but still runs,a Kirby that was a hand me down but gave it away for it was extremely too heavy for us, a Panasonic 10 amp which we like, plus an Oreck 2600XL upright. (Do not suck up any metal objects or water; no motor bypass!) The free canister is weak on suction also.
The Oreck is great for those with arthritis or back problems but be carefull when ordering. I was told if I bought the extra 1 year cleaning package with the vacuum;the warranty would be extended to 5 yrs. on the motor. Today I was told that was not true by the Oreck Co. They also recommend changing belts every couple months & changing the vac bag every month & changing the outer cloth bag every 2 years. Oh, My aching credit card Batman!

Had this 4 months. Never saw such great suction power and cleaning ability! I gladly overlooked how heavy it seemed, how heavy the cord was, and how loud it was (sometimes it whistles, even!) My only big disappointment was that the on-off switch started malfunctioning (not turning on without lots of jiggling, etc.) the 2nd time I used it! Now it takes a couple minutes of wangling the switch before it turns on. It's warranteed for 1 year, but Euro-Pro's website isn't up and running yet and I haven't been successful getting through to the customer service yet to see where to get it repaired. Too bad so many of these great machines have a defective switch! Who wants to bother packing up a vacuum for service, anyway??

I finally got ahold of the Shark company about my broken unit. I had this unit for 4 months and used it about 8 times. I was sent to one of those out of country phone mills and I was told that I have to send the unit to them, paying shipping, and also include a check for RETURN SHIPPING!!!!!! Who knows how long I will wait for return product! I will never buy a product from this company and I am scared to buy through the internet, because when you buy at your local store, you can return damaged merchandise and get a new product immediately. Now I have no recourse and no human to even complain to....

I saw this on TV and said to myself "I've got to have it." I did my research on the web, and stumbled upon mixed reviews -- some said they love it, others said they hate it. I ignored the bad reviews and decided that I'd seen too many "good" features not to try it -- and that decision has made the difference. High chairs, play saucers, kitchen tables, floors, cracks, crevices, bathrooms, faucets, doors, doorknobs ... if it's tough to clean, you can clean it. Read the directions. Make sure you follow up immediately with a terry cloth towel and you'll do great. Of course steam is hot, so don't do anything stupid. There's a lot of other products to compete with this one, but none that hold the amount of water the Shark does ... keep in mind if you don't want to make a lot of trips to the faucet. My 17 year career has been prototype design and mechanical evaluation, knowing thermodynamics and pressure vessels and .... and was sceptical as always - and noticed the solid heavy tank and relief valve heavy thread cap and thought "yes" this will provide the higher pressure and temperature - then I thought it will blow a fuse - nope - and it heats fast. Then I thought I'll burn myself - nope - no leaks - none. And I used the handle with my bare hands and was wiping the spots with a sponge in my other hand and rinsing it. If anyone wants a unit that can develop pressure and temperature and don't mind a couple of instructions - this unit delivers as promised - thanks for the info-mercial that is what convinced my scepticism and in real life - I can verify what I saw as true. I'll do the car engine in the spring, right now back to the baseboard fin-and-tube heaters and bathroom walls and floor yuck - you should have seen what came out of there - I'll wear a mask this round.

I bought the shark and it was a waste of money, they should pay people to use this product. It worked fine for a couple of weeks then it would cut off after 10min., it would take two days to vaccuum my small two bedroom apartment. After the second belt broke, I ordered a set from Euro-Pro on-line. They said it would take 3-4 weeks before the order would come, after 5 weeks the only thing that came was a post card stating that they where out of stock. I'm still waiting. Like most of you I discarded the box, it's past the number of days to return and I'm out of $105 dollars. I love Target BUT please let Euro-Pro go. P.S. THINK ABOUT A RECALL

This vacuum is a waste of money. After buying, I used it 4 times at the most then had no suction. I took it to a vacuum shop, thinking I must have a really bad blockage.(I have two cats). There was no blockage. I was told it was just a horrible machine. Plus, I was told that the parts for this machine (belts, etc) are almost impossible to get and he pointed out the size of the filter to me, extremely small and pretty much useless. Luckily, Target was great about it. Although, I misplaced the receipt, I had purchased it with a credit card, so they allowed me to return this and exchange it for another vacuum. Reading the reviews before puchasing would have saved me some frustration. I hope this review does the same for others. really not a good vacuum.

This is the most WORTHLESS vacuum I've ever had. It stopped working 3 months after I bought it. I've had the belts changed, cleaned out the canister...it simply doesn't work.
Don't buy this product!!!

Based on my satisfaction with my handheld (corded) Shark Euro Pro, I got this for cleaning up the small messes left in the wake of my three cats. Was I ever disappointed. This cordless vac picks up . . . nothing! Not dry crumbs of catfood, not litter, not little pieces of paper . . . NOTHING! Fortunately, I "purchased" this with a bonus gift certificate I received after buying another product, so I didn't waste my money. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOURS, EITHER!!!

This vaccuum has no power. I charge it for a day or so, and get less than a minute of suction out of it before it begins to wear down. And even at full power, it doesn't pick up much of the dirt on my floor. I suggest splurging a little and buying something that actually works, even if it's a little more expensive, because this one is just a waste of your 20 bucks.

I got these in a local store 3 weeks ago. The silver coating peeled at first use. Not to say that it is limited in cleaning power, now it takes forever to recharge. I leave it on the charger as suggested in the manual, but now charging it for one whole day lasts me 30 seconds. These are cheap for a reason. They turn into a piece of junk before you know it.
