Most people say that the hepa filter is just another gumic, but it really works!!Not only does it keep away the just vacuumed smell, but I has reduced my alergies. and you have to dust less often. But as I stated earlier it gets rid of the just vacuumed smell. I can vacuum so close to my gusts arriving that I am just putting the vacuum away and they are non the wiser. Thank you for reading.

Do not buy a fantom product. I'am on my third one in two years. They all broke after dishing out big bucks. They are not built to last. I bought them becuse I vacuum every day do to three golden retrivers. This is a terriable product very cheaply made.

Ok, I loved this machine for the first two months. It picks up dirt I never knew I had. It's easy to operate and empty. The tools are also a nice feature. I'm very disappointed that it stopped working already. When vacumming, it has started turning itself on and off causing all the lights in the house to dim when it does this. After a few minutes, it just completely stops working at all. The headlight comes on but no motor. It would be a nice vacuum if it was reliable.

First off I would like to say that alot of people accuse people who write good reviews for this vacuum of working for Euro-Pro/Fantom. I am only 14 years old. I will update this review if the mechine breaks. I had a old Fantom Thunder with Dual Cyclonic Technoligy. It was still working. I bought the Twister.Ran over the 5 by 7 carpet with the Thunder then the Twister. Wow, did it pull out alot that was left behind. I love everything about this vacuum.The bottom empting canaster with the Twister nob you turn, the Hose handle, and its carpet to bare floors setting. Finally, I bought this vacuum new at K-mart
for $159.99 and it even came with the air driven turbo brudsh.Buy it.

It's a little difficult to know what to make of the other reviews here...we have had our Fantom Lightning for 8 months and have had no problems at all (thank God, because I would be extremely frustrated if it broke!). This review is rated four stars because the other reviews concern me, and give me pause.
As for our own experience, the Fantom Lightning has improved the cleanliness of our home incredibly in the sense that the amount of dust this machine picks up is awesome. The clear canister is inspiring, as you can see how much difference your cleaning time is making. I do use the add-ons, especially to vacuum the window blinds, along the baseboards, and to vacuum furniture. I appreciate the long wand, because now instead of standing on the bed to clean the ceiling fan by hand, I can vacuum it with the wand. The vacuuming power is incredible and we, so far, are really happy. We paid much more than this price, by the way, and still think it was well worth it. We also vacuum a lot--every other day, sometimes every day, and so far nothing has broken. The one slight difficulty we have had has been that the cord retractor sometimes sticks, though can be coaxed to unstick. We don't have to run our air purifiers all the time now--and breathing is much easier.

I have owned my Fantom Canister for four years. It has been a wonderful vacuum cleaner, surpassing all my expectations regarding cleaning. But, it has had its problems, too. Anything plastic on it has broken, including the power switch cover and the cord retractor. And, just recently, it tripped a circuit breaker when I turned it on (impending motor burnout??)
Anyway, to make a long story short, I was about to order a Fantom upright cleaner, when I read about the Company's recent demise and the horror stories others have written about their Fantoms...and changed my mind. It is just a shame that Fantom has had to go out on such a sour note....

My Fantom Lightning is four years old. I also have a Fantom Cyclone Xt, and used to have a Fantom Thunder that I gave to my grandmother.They all work excalent and are all four years old. They were all purchased in the last four monthes used. Just today I vacuumed with the cyclone and then went over the Carpet with the Lightning that I just got yesterday. Boy , I gave the cyclone Xt a 5 star ratting, but when I went to empty the Lightning there was about half as much as what was in the cyclones canaster in the Lightning. And no the cyclone was not clogged The hepa filter works great.Thanks, for reading.
