Excellent
excellent vac! It's very simple and efficient, and is pretty powerful for something so cheap. I've found it works really well - better than some of the more expensive cleaners I've used - and I'm really happy with it.
It's fairly light too, has a long power-cord, and the onboard tools make it a breeze to use. The filtration system is adequate and does the job well.
The only indication of its 'cheapness' is its rather plasticky construction - but so far mine has held out pretty well, and if I had to buy three of these in 10 years, it'd still work out cheaper than a lot of other manufacturer's products!
Oh - and to the reviewer who can't find bags - try your local BestBuy - they're [money]for 3 - or order online from the Bissell web site!

Probably one of the best in it's price rangeGreat vacuum for the price. Has all the requirements I wanted when purchasing for my 1 bedroom apartment. It has a 12 amp motor, it's quite, light, has filtration and is designed well.
I researched vacuums and came up with the two best that I would have bought if price were not a consideration: the Hoover Self-Propelled with power attachment or the Eureka Ultra Smart Vac Boss Model 4870. I actually bought the Eureka over the Internet, but the vendor took too long in shipping it because of backorder. This gave me a chance to think over the purchase and I realized for my one bedroom apartment, I really didn't need a top of the line, costly vacuum. So I researched with price and AMP in mind.
The most important thing in the Bissell Powerglide Plus is that the bottom piece is constructed much like Hoover's Windtunnel models. The whole concept behind the Windtunnel is the shape of the plastic piece surrounding the roller brush. Take a look at some of the bottoms of a few vacuums. You'll notice the end of a "hose" on some models just pointing towards the ground. That "hose" area allows only a small section of suction. Dirt is being lifted, but the suction area is small because there's nothing to send dirt its way. You simply have to go over that area of carpet again. The molded plastic shape (Windtunnel design) allows the roller brush to funnel dirt towards the "hose" end. It's designed much like a canister type vacuum where the "head" creates a funnel to allow a greater suction area.
The filtration system is decent. No sealed True HEPA filtration here but adequate to prevent dust from going back into the room. You can feel the air that is being pushed back out from the suction. It comes out this post 3M filter attached on the side.
It's quite. I really doubted this one, but it is quite compared to my older Hoover that was in the same class. No jet plane taking off. Even my cat didn't even run away like it usually does when I break out my old vacuum.
The only issue is that it does not glide easily when pushed.
If money is an issue, and you still want the best, this one is it. The Bissell gives probably the best bang for your buck. You'll be hard pressed to find another vacuum for the price with these features.

Great product, not perfect
Great product! It took me about three minutes to assemble it when it arrive and overnight to fully charge the battery. It can be converted to a hand vac easily, it's light weight and compact, a lot more powerful than I expected and certainly is easier to handle than my old dirt devil. It works beautifully to pick up the stuffs on my laminated floor, pergo, hardwood, not as great on tiles but acceptable. I still need my regular vacuum but my regular vacuum can not replace the ease of use this little thing has.

Great product with one caveat.
Shockingly Strong yet Light and Fun, tooFirst of all, I enjoy the fact that it's cordless and rechargable. Its cordless design makes it very easy to reach under furniture, and to go from room to room without the hassle of cords being caught around corners, coming loose from the wall, etc.
I found myself actually *enjoying* vacuuming with this vacuum! Froot-Loops crunched into the carpet? Zoom. Get the GoVac. Dryer lint in the hall? GoVac. Dirt dragged in from the backyard? GoVac sucks it all up! With its detachable handle, it's easy to use even in the car!
This vacuum went instantly from carpet to hardwood floors to linoleum and did a very thorough job.
I ***highly*** recommend this product for families, students, and even kids, as its lightweight design will encourage even young kids to care for their own living space. While it may not replace a full-size vacuum, it will definitely be a great asset to your cleaning equipment and will absolutely help maintain a clean 'look' between cleanings. 5 minutes before company arrives? Whip out the GoVac and your home instantly looks much, MUCH cleaner!
The only caveats to this glowing review: 12 minute vacuuming time limit and no notification when the charging cycle is complete.
GREAT LITTLE UNITYes, you have to empty the collection cup every few minutes... but that's because it's doing such a fantastic job. I have 4 shorthaired dogs....and I am amazed at how it picks up the hair. My big vacuum doesnt do as good a job!!! It's light, completely portable and works quite well. The one problem I think some of the others ran into is that this battery DOES HAVE A MEMORY. So, YOU CANT LEAVE IT PLUGGED INTO THE RECHARGER ALL THE TIME. You fully discharge it, then recharge it, and disconnect it from the wall. The manual is VERY CLEAR ABOUT THIS POINT.
Anyway, this item is meant to be a toy for kids, but for quick clean ups, or for those who are disabled and cant manage a heavy vacuum, this is perfect. I love mine.

GREAT VACUUM
Excellent Vacuum CleanerThe vacuum is light, QUIET (I originally bought a Hoover but it was so loud I returned it), has a nice length hose for the cleaning tools, and has a long power cord (35'). As for performance, it does a great job, and the suction from the upholstery attachment is indeed very strong (actually, almost too strong). The bag is easy to reach/replace (just pop off the front cover), and the vacuum has both a pre-filter (to prevent objects from entering and damaging the fan), and a post-filter (to keep dirt from exiting the bag). (I'm not a fan of bagless vacuums. They must be emptied more frequently and are very messy to empty. And don't be fooled into thinking you are saving a lot of money with a bagless; the better ones have expensive HEPA filters that must replaced). The only real problem with the machine is that because it's lightweight, it has a tendency to tip over when using the cleaning tools.
In sum, unless you are willing to pay about $175-$350 for a top of the line vacuum cleaner, the Bissel at only $99 here @ Amazon is a best buy.
