This is one powerful vacuum cleaner. The suction power, especially when using the wands, is phenomenal. It features a wide rolling brush and automatic height adjustment that make vacuum job a breeze. Its hard durable construction lacks any wobbly feeling common in many other brands of vacuum. Plus, the front opening makes changing bag and filters a snap.

On the down side, it lacks headlight and the small space between the hoses makes wrapping the cord around difficult. But these are minor issues. Overall, I am really happy with the purchase.

This is one of the best vacuumes I have ever owned, I have had it for a little over two years now, and it still works as good as the day I bought it. We have 3 large dogs that are always shedding, and this is the only vacuum that I have owned that pulls all of the hair out of the carpet on the first, or in heavily concentrated spots, like where they loungs, the second pass. I love it, I have owned other popular brands and paid much more for them, but they don't work as well, and break.

I've had the Panasonic MC-V5746 for two months. My previous vacuum was also a Panasonic and lasted for 15 years! This one lives up to its reputation; the HEPA filter is great and removes dust and animal dander. I also like having a separate bag and am happy I didn't choose a "bagless" model...all the dirt stays in the bag with no mess. It's quiet, with a long cord, and the 14" path is not too wide and makes it easy to maneuver around furniture. The only drawback, which I hope Panasonic corrects on future models, is the handle. It's too short (I'm 5'8"), and there's a little cap on the end that comes loose and pinches my hand when I'm pushing/pulling the vacuum. I've called Panasonic Customer Service and they said a replacement or upgraded handle is not available. Otherwise, it's a great vacuum!

Right now, there are no cons. This vacuum cleaner is light and easy to handle. It picks up everything on rugs or bare floors. It's attachments are easy to use. It is quiet, has a light for maneuverability, and its cord is long enough to go from one room to another. I'm especially impressed with the HEPA filter. I don't know too much about all of the fancy terms out there, but I do know that I see almost no dust in my apartment anymore. I've only had it for two months, but my place has never been cleaner. If anything goes wrong with the vacuum cleaner, I will be sure to update my review. For right now, though, you can't go wrong with the MC-V5746. I can't recommend it enough.

This is a great little vacuum cleaner that takes up so very little space. When you compare its price level with some larger models it becomes very attractive, as long as your needs match what it offers. I wouldn't recommend it if you have a heavily carpeted area to vacuum. But for bare floors, the odd rug, and all those dust-catching nooks and crannies, this certainly does the trick. Part of its appeal is certainly its light weight which makes carrying it up and down stairs and holding in one hand while vacuuming ceiling edges with the other trivially easy. Just keep in mind that this is a minimalist vacuum cleaner. No bells and whistles; just what you need to get the job done well and with a dash of style. Never yet been disappointed with a Panasonic product.

I really love this little vacuum.. I have hardwood floors and 4 cats and it does a really good job...plus its so small and just follows you around so easily... I bought it after reading the one review.. picks up kitty litter that gets tracked everywhere and also gets cat hair off upholstery easily..

Don't search for C-13, but instead search for AMC-S5EP on the internet. Then the bags will show up. I found them at theallergyreliefcenter

The vacuum works ok...good suction, and rolls around well. The wand tubes don't stay attached to the hose, no matter how hard you force them in. The attachments are a joke, except for the floor attachment, which is plastic and is easy on floors and furniture. The hose is too short to reach an 8 foot ceiling unless you stand the vacuum on end. The cord retracts well, but could be a few feet longer. Forget about finding bags. Apparenty you throw the vacuum away after you use the two bags it comes with.

I bought this vacuum having had good luck with Panasonic products in the past. The vacuum is fairly quiet and follows well as you move around the house. However the hose and cord are both too short making cleaning more difficult than it should be. Also, this vacuum does not pick up as well as the Eureka it is replacing. Not sure if this is a problem with the suction or floor tool. Last, my wife broke some of the plastic parts when replacing the bag today. This may have been her fault but I would like to think that she could not break the vacuum just by changing the bag no matter how hard she tried.

Living in a shared apartment with 3 others, I'm glad we don't have wall-to-wall carpeting. However, sweeping the tile and old hardwoods never seems to do the job, and you can spend a small fortune on Swiffer cloths...what's a guy to do? Buy an inexpensive vacuum cleaner.

I first bought a Euro-Pro Shark canister vac with HEPA filtration from a homegoods store. I wasn't wild about it, as it had some design quirks I didn't like. One month later, a roommate moved out and took it with him (I'm not kidding).

I did more research, and found some good reviews of Panasonic vacuum products in general. I decided to purchase this model, and I used it last night for the first time. I was impressed. The suction is very good, and the tools are well thought out and easy to use. The canister rolls very easily, so it follows you around without incident. It is surprisingly quiet compared to other machines, at least to my ear. I used it on tile and hardwoods, but also did a little bit of carpet cleaning: the suction was able to pull dirt out of a low-pile carpet, but this is really a machine for bare floors, as there is no agitator brush.

One design I had some concerns about were the two plastic pieces that form the cleaning "wand". Instead of a chromed metal extension wand, this machine has two interlocking plastic pices. I was afraid that they would come apart often, or reduce the suction of the machine. Fitting them together tightly is just fine, and I haven't had them come apart while cleaning.

Two really important features, in my view, are the on-board tool storage and the ability to hook the cleaning wand and floor attachment onto the canister. Without on-board tool storage, try finding the crevice tool when you want to clean your computer keyboard or the dusting brush when you want to clean blinds: having them in the vacuum is priceless. The ability to hook the extension wand onto the machine while cleaning or for storage is great, if you've ever had a vacuum sprawling all over a closet floor. It makes storage in an apartment much easier.

This is not a high-end vacuum, but definitely one I feel very satisfied with for the money.

After receiving and assembling my NEW vacuum cleaner, I tested it on my brand NEW wall-to-wall carpeting. After a few seconds, I noticed the motor sounded slightly different. As per the manual's instruction, I checked for obstructions, there were none. I then tested it on my kitchen floor and saw with horror that it was leaving greasy black streaks on the floor. I went into the living room to retrieve the manual and AHHHHH! there was a big black greasy stain on my NEW wall-to-wall carpeting, which will probably never be completely clean. I went back into the kitchen to turn on the vacuum and the motor wouldn't come on! I waited overnight (not just 30 minutes) before trying it again and it still won't come on, but the light is on. I'm currently wandering through the maze of website options and phone options to reach a human being.

I purchased this vacuum from a local dealer (and spent way too much,[$]). Chief complaint is that in order to use the tools, you have to connect BOTH ends of the hose... one to the vacuum and one to the tool you want to attach. You also have to change the bare floors pedal on the nozzle (floor thingy) with your hands. My thumb is sore and I have only had the vacuum 5 days...
It picks up dirt very good, but be careful on rugs with fringes.

This is a very good mid-priced vacuum. We replaced a 3 year old Hoover, and this is definitely a step up. The suction is great, and it's much easier to maneuver than the other vacuums I've used. It's also highly rated by consumer reports. The only real drawback is that the tools are a little bothersome to use, but that's easy to get used to.

I bought this type vacuum because of the dynamics of the DUAL rotating agitator bars, the exceptional edge-cleaning and low-to the -floor profile(it can get really close under edges of counters, furniture). The adjustable and colapsible handle is fabulous as it takes up less room to store and even my petite daughter can easily use it. However, in only 6 months of use it has stopped working-the agitator bars arrangement allows for long hair to be wrapped onto them BUT NOT vaccumed into bag, to the extent that they caused the bushings that are opposite the belt to MELT, and only then did one of the belts break. This was after I'd carefully and faithfully cleaned the agitators off more often than the every 5 uses that was suggested in the instructions. When Panasonic was called about this problem, they had no other information, could tell me of no complaints tracked at all, but were very helpful about sending paperwork for the warranty to be observed. However parts are back-ordered for 8weeks!! (and according to service center this is not unusual for Panasonic). The store (...) honored the mfr's 1 year warranty by looking up my receipt,(and I'd paid cash), and giving me store credit for another or same model. I went with a different mfr and model because tho I will miss my telescoping handle and close to floor access most, the Hoover had better suction, easier to use tools and a powered attachment for steps.It was a little less expensive-so I got the store to throw in their 4 yr warranty beginning today and I've got 30 days to see if this one can actually suck up long hair or I'll return it for cash. (There's no frequent roller cleaning necessary in these instructions either).I'm hopeful.
