I used this with my Hoover carpet cleaner and it was great! I was dating someone with severe asthma and when he walked in he instantly said: "You cleaned your carpets, didn't you?" He said he could breathe easily and didn't wheeze the entire time he was over.

Got allergies? This is a great buy. I highly recommend it -- especially after waking up in the morning without feeling that puffy-eyed, dusty-lung sensation. Try it, I guarantee you'll like it.

This Bissell formula is very good for all types of pet messes on carpeting. The cleaning power is good and the scent is pleasant. Since I care for many foster dogs in my home, I buy a lot of this product.

This powerful machine really sucks up dirt and the pile of your carpet, restoring it to a newer appearance. It also removes imbedded pet hair. The heated water and self-propelled features, along with the easy to fill small water container ( I used the bathroom sink) make it easy to use. It's also very quiet, didn't even scare my new kittens and old dog. This is the best carpet cleaner I've owned, and I've had several.

The idea of a self-propelled carpet cleaner made me laugh at first, but now that I have one I am amazed that I got by so long without one...it just makes the job of cleaning your carpet such a breeze.

I have a lot of animals in my house, and when I clean the carpets, I really need to clean the carpets. This cleaner will pull probably about 90% of the grime in the carpet (it doesn't look like it should have that much dirt in it...) out on the first pass over it. This is one of those few products out there that really works like the commercials show it does as long as you follow the directions:

You need to make sure that heater is finished heating the water before you begin or you'll just be making a mess until it is hot enough to actually do some cleaning--this is probably the number one complaint I hear about this cleaner and its because they are not waiting for the heating to finish. The next things that people always do wrong is the the settings need to be switched back to the Water Only setting while the machine is not in use or the soap lines will clog up. As long as you store the cleaner properly it works like a dream (or a commercial) everytime no matter how bad the mess is.

Also, for anyone who has long-haired pets: this cleaner will clean up the giant clumps of wet hair tangled in the carpet with no problems at all. The biggest drawback is that the self-propel feature is kind of worthless is tight spaces because you have to have quite a bit of room to swing the cleaner around and get all the angles. You won't be able to run this around the furniture--you'll actually have to move the furniture out of the way if you want to do a decent job cleaning.

I just recieved my machine, and couldnt wait to use it!......With two bullmastiffs (10 months and 11 weeks) in the house it sure had its work cut out for it. And WOW! my carpets look almost brand new!....

The water bladder tank leaked and the brush assembly hopped. I called Bissell, they apologized and sent out another tank. The second tank arrived 10 days later, it leaked also; so I returned the cleaner where I purchased it.

The dual tank seemed a good idea until I used it. I was dumping a lot of clean hot water down the drain. It was nearly impossible to get the carpet shed/fuzz out of the tank because you cannot remove the clean water bladder. I also was not fond of the idea that the brushes did not rotate without the suction. Some spots need to be scrubbed more than others and I found that I used more cleaning solution and water than was necessary because I could not just brush the area without removing the cleaning solution.

Extremely frustrating. I am searching for a cleaner without belts and separate tanks.

This is an incrediable cleaner! We moved into a house with 5 year old carpet that had never been cleaned and I decided to try this instead of renting a system (it ended costing about the same!) I pulled up tons of dirt, but also big dust balls! I love the light water tank and found the whole unit even lighter to move around them my vacumm cleaner! The hand tools though didnt impress me much, as they didnt seem to have a very strong vacumm on it and left my stairs wetter then I would have liked. But otherwise, its a great unit and a great buy.

First a belt broke after about a dozen uses, which was only the beginning of troubles to come. Next, a little plastic piece that holds the roller on broke (I've replaced it several times). Finally the pump stopped working and it won't spay any cleaning solution. It's JUNK!!! Beware and stay far away from this product and this company. I've spent enough to have bought a high end cleaner.

i just got this cleaner today, slapped it together, proceded to break a plastic floater (used to shut off the suction when the tank waste tank is full). Very fragile and it looks like your are supposed to pull on it and discard it. Not so. Other than that the machine works OK. I have never used a carpet cleaner, but I just got my third dog and decided it was time. Decided I would just buy one and try to clean the carpets every three months.

I cleaned half of my carpet tonight and it looks noticably better. These carpets were old and filthy and they actually look good now.

Before going home from work today a coworker was knocking the machine saying how his neighbor bought one, returned it and got a nice Hoover (with rotating brushes). Almost sent mine back instead of opening it but I am too impatient and wanted to try it.

The soap feeder (adjustable)- though i think it uses more soap than it should.

Attachments

things I don't like:
that plastic thing I broke.
everything is plastic (but I think it would be hard to find one that isn't).

Things I would reconsider:
I have never used a steam cleaner, but the idea of rotating brushes seems like a good one to me. Therefore, I would consider a Hoover if I hadn't already bought this one. But I am happy with this machine and the attachments (especially the scrubber brush). It cleans well and is easy to use.

No complaints- hope it proves to be durable.

I normally don't enter reviews for products I have purchased, but after using this machine I had to respond. My carpets have been professionally cleaned for years, but this has become quite expensive. I decided to try the cleaning myself, and after careful investigation I decided the Bissell machine was the one I would try. And wow did it work! My husband couldn't believe how clean the carpets have become. And with the convenience of having this in my own home, I can clean any time I want. I would recommend this product to anyone!

The Bissell ProHeat is an excellent steam cleaner. It even removed a month-old coffee stain! It's extremely easy to use and easy on the back. The smart mix features mixes the cleaning solution and water for you at the proper ratio, so all you do is press a button and push the machine back and forth. It's incredible suction removes most of the water from the carpet, so the carpets dry within 1-2 hours. The only complaint I have about this machine is the two belts. They comes lose rather easily when cleaning up the machine, so you need to check them every now and then to make sure they are working properly. All things considered, this cleaner is well worth the investment. I like it so much, I'm planning to buy a Bissell vacuum as well!

I love this steamcleaner! Only problems have been operator-error such as forgetting to turn the dial from hand attachments to floor and wondering why it won't suck up the water. With 2 young kids and their friends constantly tracking in dirt, not to mention a 5 year old girl who likes playing with makeup, and an older dog with a weak stomach, this has been a blessing for a new carpet!

I would definitely recommend and buy again!

One note....when using the hand attachment, make sure the unit isn't sitting on the electrical cord. The brush on the floor cleaner continues to turn and will fray the cord if left long enough!

I thought about buying a cheaper steam cleaner and am SOOOO Happy I didn't. This one is awesome. It got a stain that not even a proffessional cleaner could do. It's easy to use and fun. Amazing how much dirt is in your rugs and lint!! Only problem I found with it is the caddy. The hose comes connected and it hangs on the caddy. To line them up is a bit of a hassle but sooo well worth it. It actually makes cleaning your rugs FUN. I just go through using it and am in awww as to how clean my rugs look. To think I used to pay 200 dollars to have them professionally cleaned. Uggg.. SO happy with my purchase. Yippie:-) I suggested buying this one. It is GREAT!!!!
